(Obama with Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius.)FAIRFAX, Virginia, October 9, 2012 ( – President Barack Obama told an audience of campaign supporters at George Mason University last Friday that free contraceptives for college students was the reason “why we passed” his healthcare reform law. Citing the ‘preventive services’ mandate that requires healthcare plans to provide sterilization, contraception and abortion-inducing drugs to women free of charge, Obama said, “I don’t think a college student in Fairfax or Charlottesville should have to choose between text books or the preventive care that she needs. That’s why we passed this law....

WASHINGTON - Finally, a pollster asked voters the one question that matters in this presidential election: Does Barack Obama know how to fix the economy? When the Pew Research Center asked that question in the days following Mitt Romney's strong performance in last week's presidential debate, a majority of the voters answered, no. The central failure of Obama's presidency centers on his demonstrated inability to restore the economy to full health and vigor after trillions of dollars in job stimulus spending that created few jobs but added $5 trillion to the federal debt. Pew put the question to likely voters...

At the time, the company was promoted heavily by President Barack Obama, U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and U.S. Sens. Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow. Since then, A123 has shed money, laid off half its workforce, recalled products and seen its stock price plummet to about 26 cents this week from a previous high of $26. They are, in other words, pre-empting Clinton and Rice from blaming subordinates (them) for the lies told to the public, pretending Benghazi was not an Al Qaeda operation on the anniversary of 9/11. The president was loath to admit that the killing of Osama bin Laden hadn't ended the AQ threat. Because, less than two weeks earlier, on May 24, 2007, the United States Senate had in fact voted 80-14 to waive the Stafford Act requirement for New Orleans, as it had waived that requirement for New York and Florida. More federal money was spent rebuilding New Orleans than was spent in New York after 9/11 and in Florida after hurricane Andrew, combined. Truth is not a job requirement for a community organizer. Despite declining approval numbers, pundits are opining that Obama will be re-elected because of his personal likeability rating. Lacking a background in market research, they are taking at face value a question with much more subtle implications. In legitimate polling, three major factors include the sample, the questions, and the methodology (manner in which the poll is administered). To provide valid results, the sample must be truly representative of the target audience. For example, a purported "national sample" that skews heavily toward Democratic or Republican voters does not meet this criterion. Also, a sample drawn from the general population for...

Throughout the 90-minute debate, both candidates made frequent references to the deficit, the debt, or balancing the budget, but showed little willingness to actually do anything about it. As of the night of the debate, last Wednesday, our national debt was $16.153 trillion. Let’s put that in perspective: The New York Yankees have the biggest payroll in baseball. President Obama hopes there will be no change in the White House on Nov. 6. His campaign offers platitudes such as "investments" in education and green energy. But there has been very little attention on what Obama would actually do with four more years. Second terms tend to be lackluster. The intellectual and political energy wanes, and scandals are common. But Obama's re-election would mean sweeping policy changes, simply by his being in the Oval Office through 2016.

The federal government only receives about $1.2 trillion in total income taxes per year. There is no way a $5 trillion tax cut would be possible in the short term. Congress would have to almost eliminate the income tax to produce a $5 trillion cut in 5 years. Cutting $500 billion a year would take 10 years to produce a $5 trillion cut. Obama believes he'd got the better of Romney as he walked off stage to the dismay of his aides, according to a Democrat close to the campaign The President failed to prepare properly, opting instead to visit the Hoover Dam the day before the showdown Democrat claims he was so disdainful of Romney that he didn't think he needed to even engage with him Had one-liners on 47% prepared but chose not to use them When President Barack Obama stepped off the stage in Denver last week the 60 million Americans watching the debate against Mitt Romney already knew it...

Enthusiasm for president fades in his most liberal basePresident Obama’s star is fading, even in Hollywood. With less than four weeks until the election, polls are moving in Mitt Romney’s direction. So Mr. Obama has had to spend valuable time courting a part of his base that he hasn’t had to worry about before: rich celebrities. After a disastrous showing in the debate, Mr. Obama saw the need to swing through Tinseltown to buck up his supporters. The first stop Sunday was an unusual closed-door, off-the-record meeting for a dozen donors who had maxed out their contributions. Joined by celebrity...
  • Obama spokesman: We released that moronic Big Bird ad because of the “grassroots outcry”

Deeply embarrassing, but not entirely the campaign’s fault. If memory serves, Romney’s Big Bird line was the thin reed to which liberals on Twitter were clinging the morning after the Denver debacle: “There’s been a strong grassroots outcry over the attacks on Big Bird. This is something that mothers across the country are alarmed about, and you know, we’re tapping into that,” Psaki told reporters aboard Air Force One on Wednesday… “The larger point… is, aside from our love for Big Bird and Elmo, as is evidenced by the last few days, the point that we’re making here is that...

Obama might talk about spreading the wealth around, but the aggregate effect of the policies pursued during his administration have squarely benefited large corporations and the financial sector, and not the middle class or small business. Is reinflating financial bubbles and pumping up corporate profits Obama’s idea of recovery? The money isn’t trickling down, and small businesses and the middle class are more in debt than they were before the crisis started. Income inequality is soaring. The financial sector is richer than ever. American infrastructure is still crumbling. Housing starts are still deeply depressed, even as homelessness rises. And of...

The Obama State Department held a conference call with reporters tonight on the Benghazi terror attack. They did not invite FOX News on the call. Bret Baier told viewers on Special Report that FOX is usually included on such calls. During the call, the Obama State Department said there was no protest at the consulate on 9-11 and that terrorists attacked the compound after 8:30 PM. This contradicts directly what the administration was saying after the deadly 9-11 attacks.
  • Obama’s Islamic Supremacist Human Rights Rep: Meet Salam al-Marayati, 9/11 Truther & Hamas-supporter

It would be inconceivable for Barack Obama to appoint a man who had praised the Ku Klux Klan to a commission discussing race relations; what he has actually done, however, is all too predictable. Obama has appointed a man who has praised Hamas and Hizballah, and blamed Israel for 9/11, to be the United States’ representative at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) annual 10-day human rights conference, the Human Dimension Implementation Meetings (HDIM). The Obama State Department is sending Salam al-Marayati, founder and executive director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), to the OSCE conference....
  • Obamacare will stifle healthcare innovation making it a real pain

Obamacare sparked criticism for it inducing government dependency, aggravating budget pressures, and even failing to reduce insurance premiums as promised, but the law also increasingly politicizes healthcare innovation. Sown throughout what encompasses thousands of rules, Washington has established itself as the hinge on which healthcare turns. Businesses must please political masters before serving customers. Medical investment will mirror energy, where research and development no longer follows market dynamics. Instead, taxpayers cater to the connected and politically favored. To see why, take the much reviled medical device tax. Under the Affordable Care Act, beginning January 1st, sales of medical devices from...
