  • Obama-Scare: Biggest US health insurer might leave exchanges

The nation’s largest health insurer fired a shot across the bow of ObamaCare on Thursday, citing flagging enrollment and high-risk customers in suggesting it may have to pull out of the exchanges in 2017. UnitedHealth Group raised the alarm in an earnings update Thursday morning, with CEO Stephen J. Hemsley warning of dimming conditions in the market. He pointed to lower enrollment forecasts and a concern that the exchanges are increasingly taking on less healthy – and therefore more costly – customers. “In recent weeks, growth expectations for individual exchange participation have tempered industrywide, co-operatives have failed, and market data...

The Obama administration will grant extra time to Americans who say they are unable to enroll in health care plans through the federal insurance marketplace by the March 31 deadline, in a decision that swiftly drew Republican ridicule. All consumers who have begun to apply for coverage on, but who do not finish by Monday, will now have until about mid-April to ask for an extension. "We are experiencing a surge in demand and are making sure that we will be ready to help consumers who may be in line by the deadline to complete enrollment -- either online...

It has become a truism that House Republicans have voted dozens and dozens of times -- at least 50 in all -- to repeal Obamacare. They have been obsessed with repealing the Affordable Care Act, President Obama told a Democratic National Committee meeting in Washington last month. You know what they say: 50th time is the charm. Since being signed into law by President Obama in 2010, the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, has been stripped, changed and full of devastating consequences for the American economy and American families. It's clear by now that the White House and Democrats who voted for Obamacare, lied to millions of Americans when they said, "If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it. Period." With President Obamas approval rating sinking below 40 percent, it has become clear that a majority of Americans have concluded that he did indeed lie about his signature health care legislation allowing individuals to keep their insurance plans if they desired. While the president deserves much of the scorn being heaped upon him for having misled the public about Obamacare, another group within Washington equally deserves to be held accountable for the millions of Americans currently losing their existing health care coverage; namely, Senate Democrats. The fight over how to define the new health laws success is coming down to one question: Who counts as an Obamacare enrollee? Health insurance plans only count subscribers as enrolled in a health plan once theyve submited a payment. That is when the carrier sends out a member card and begins paying doctor bills. When the Obama administration releases health law enrollment figures later this week, though, it will use a more expansive definition. It will count people who have purchased a plan as well as those who have a plan sitting in their online shopping cart but have...

The wave of health insurance policy cancellations reminds me of the gas lines in 1979. Once a week I took a gas break instead of a lunch break so I could fill up my car with gas. Lines were shorter in the middle of the day than in the morning or evening. Then Ronald Reagan was elected president. He took away President Carter's price and regional allocation controls on gasoline, and the lines vanished overnight. The program’s target for October alone was 494,620. And that figure represents what they thought would be a “slow” month, as the public gradually got up to speed on the need to sign up before December 15th. Forty House Republicans filed a brief last week in support of a legal challenge against ObamaCare that argues the law imposes billions of dollars in new taxes but did not originate in the House, as tax bills must under the Constitution. Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) spearheaded the effort by filing a "friend of the court" brief on Friday with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC circuit. That brief argued that ObamaCare violated the Origination Clause of the Constitution, which holds that all bills for raising revenue "shall originate in the House." The brief recounted how ObamaCare was ultimately...

Some numbers have come been released over the number of people who have signed up for ObamaCare through the federal website and it isn't pretty. It appears that less than 50,000 people have signed up, which is only ten percent of what big government liberals wanted and need. If millions of young people don't sign up for health insurance they don't need, then the entire ponzi scheme falls apart. However, the Obama administration's tenuous relationship with the truth continues as the 50,000 number cited isn't actually correct. It appears that the government is counting every person who had an insurance...

The state’s $69 million Obamacare website is “overbudget,” has missed deadlines and now is bringing in eleventh-hour engineering assistance from Oracle, in the face of looming cutoff dates that could force some to go without health insurance, the Herald has learned. The fix comes after the Herald reported Saturday a mere 1 percent of applicants facing canceled health plans had managed to enroll in Obamacare plans through the state’s website, with just weeks before many plans
expire Dec. 31. Gov. Deval Patrick yesterday brushed off any concerns about the system.

DALLAS, TX, November 12, 2013 ( – Taxpayer-funded employees tasked with enrolling Americans in ObamaCare's insurance plans have been caught on video telling their clients to lie. Some of those navigators are also working with an overtly political organization whose goal is to turn Texas into a Democratic-leaning state, according to investigative reporter James O'Keefe. The footage has caused one U.S. Senator to demand the navigator program be terminated. James O'Keefe of Project Veritas, who has a history of pro-life exposés, sent an undercover reporter to the National Urban League in Dallas to enroll in a health insurance plan offered...

Anthem Blue Cross of California has agreed to a two-month extension of about 104,000 individual policies after failing to give the required 90-day cancellation notice, state Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones announced Tuesday. The policies had been set to expire on Dec. 31 but will be extended until Feb. 28 for those who choose to re-enroll. Notices informing customers of the extension will be sent out this week, Anthem said. Jones said the company notified the Department of Insurance that it failed to give enough notice because of a computer glitch and voluntarily offered to extend the policies. Anthem spokesman Darrel...

Matt Lauer should have known better than to quote the Democrat Party line to Sarah Palin. From his only 5% are losing their current policies to Republicans have never come up with a plan, Lauer looks like a perturbed 3rd grader hoping to prove his teacher wrong. Its a video worth watching as liberals never come out looking so hot in...
