President Obama tried to downplay the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server for handling some of the government’s most sensitive information, but a former top Justice Department official says Obama’s comments ignore the law and are an obvious attempt to convince the FBI not to recommend charges against Clinton. On Fox News Sunday, anchor Chris Wallace asked Obama if he was convinced that national security was not compromised by Clinton’s handling of sensitive information. “Here’s what I know: Hillary Clinton was an outstanding secretary of state. She would never intentionally put America in any kind of...

Video at link: A former George W. Bush administration attorney general on Monday said Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton has no excuse for using a private email server while serving as secretary of State. “Hillary Clinton put classified information on a server that was not secure,” Michael Mukasey said on Fox Business Network . "She caused it to be put there. “Going further, if it’s information that relates to national defense, whether she acted with gross negligence is not a defense. In fact, that’s the standard under the law. That’s a felony.” President Obama on Sunday said Clinton had not...

Interviewed by Chris Wallace of Fox News (transcript here, video embedded below), President Obama pulled down the blindfold on Lady Justice and signaled that there was no crime at all when Hillary Clinton set up an unsecured private server and left classified information vulnerable to hacking by the world’s intelligence services. He also created a new category of classification: “top secret top secret” as opposed to mere “top secret,” which he averred to Chris Wallace might be information that could be gleaned from public sources. All in all, it was a remarkable performance, in which the president of the United...

President Barack Obama is guaranteeing that evidence, not politics, will dictate the outcome of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s handling of emails as secretary of state. Obama’s comments came during an appearance on Fox News Sunday, his first as president. Obama said he continues to believe Clinton didn’t jeopardize America’s national security with her private email server, but he added that “there’s a carelessness in terms of managing emails” that she has recognized. “What I also know, because I handle a lot of classified information, is that there are — there’s classified, and then there’s classified,” Obama told Fox...

On April 10, 2016, President Barack Obama appears to have obstructed justice while discussing Hillary Clinton’s email server with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. During the interview they discussed Obama’s interview on October 11, 2015, in which he discussed the issue with Steve Kroft of CBS’ “60 Minutes”: Steve Kroft: Do you think it posed a national security problem? President Barack Obama: I don't think it posed a national security problem. . . . Steve Kroft: You think it's not that big a deal-- President Barack Obama: . . . I can tell you that this is not a...

Hey all! I've been inactive for a while but now I need your help. You see, back in 2007 I watched an interview with then candidate Obama wherein he actually discussed what he deemed his great strength as a candidate in the context of answering a question about if people who vote for him will end up being disappointed in a President Obama. I remember the conversation with reasonable clarity BUT I do not remember who the interview was with, what channel ... though I'm pretty sure that it had to be before the election. Here is why this is...

President Obama lamented the rancorous, divided state of U.S. politics in a wide-ranging interview with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marilynne Robinson. In the unusual discussion, Obama revealed some of his longstanding frustrations with politics while asking the Iowa author questions about her family, her Christian faith and writings. “How do you reconcile the idea of faith being really important to you and you caring a lot about taking faith seriously with the fact that, at least in our democracy and our civic discourse, it seems as if folks who take religion the most seriously sometimes are also those who are suspicious...

Terresa Monroe-Hamilton caught the most unbelievable part of President Obama’s 60 Minutes interview with Steve Kroft. She calls him “delusional,” and there’s little room to argue with that assessment — you simply must see the video to believe it, but here’s the transcript: Steve Kroft: A year ago when we did this interview, there was some saber-rattling between the United States and Russia on the Ukrainian border. Now it’s also going on in Syria. You said a year ago that the United States– America leads. We’re the indispensable nation. Mr. Putin seems to be challenging that leadership. President Barack Obama:...

In a wide-ranging conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Marilynne Robinson, President Obama suggested that Christians who take their religion the most seriously often adopt an “us versus them” mentality. In the interview, published in the Nov. 5 issue of The New York Review of Books, the president lamented “the fact that here in the United States, sometimes Christian interpretation seems to posit an ‘us versus them,’ and those are sometimes the loudest voices. “But sometimes I think you also get frustrated with kind of the wishy-washy, more liberal versions where anything goes,” Mr. Obama said, referring to Ms. Robinson. “How...

I did not see the CBS 60 Minutes interview with President Obama; so I set about going to look for it. Before going to CBS’s website I stopped by U-Tube to see if there was an encapsulated segment. Fortuitously I discovered this presentation. While it is not the entire interview, it is well worth the watch for greater foxhole-morale value. Not only is the commentary quite funny, it also provides further evidence that there are many people who understand the situation and feel the same way. (Salty Language Alert)

President Obama now says he never believed in the $500-million program to train and equip the moderate Syrian opposition. The administration last week halted the failed program, which ended up “training” fewer than 100 Syrians, all but four or five of whom deserted or died after the Americans tried to turn them into anti-ISIS fighters. “Steve, this is why I’ve been skeptical from the get-go about the notion that we were going to effectively create this proxy army inside Syria,” Obama told CBS’ Steve Kroft during an interview for “60 Minutes.” …

President Barack Obama got “feisty” during an interview about Russian President Vladimir Putin, as one CBS News anchor put it. In the interview, set to air Sunday on “60 Minutes,” Obama immediately pushed back from reporter Steve Kroft’s line of questioning about America’s leadership around the world, particularly in the Middle East. “A year ago, when we did this interview, there was some saber-rattling between the United States and Russia on the Ukrainian border,” Kroft said. “Now it’s also going on in Syria. President Obama refused to stand up to defend Hillary Clinton as his former Secretary of State continues to twist in the wind over questions about her private email server. Obama turned down opportunities from interviewer Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes to defend Clinton, instead describing the controversy as “legitimate.” “This is one of those issues that I think is legitimate,” Obama said, before weakly adding that it was “an indication that we’re in presidential political season.” In recent weeks, the Clinton campaign has tried to paint Republican-led investigation as a partisan witch-hunt and not the result of serious wrongdoing. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of State “is not a situation in which America's national security was endangered,” President Obama said in an interview Sunday, adding that although Clinton “made a mistake,” he believes the controversy over the matter has “been ginned up … in part because of politics.” In an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” that was released Sunday, Obama reiterated that he had not known about Clinton’s use of a private server for her email while she led the State Department. “I think that it was a mistake that she...
