LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Shepherdsville woman is facing alcohol intoxication charges after police said she threatened guests at a restaurant and refused to leave. Louisville Metro Police said officers were called to Joe's Older Than Dirt about 1:20 a.m. Friday because the woman, 41-year-old Katherine Carey, was yelling and threatening to fight guests at the restaurant. Police said Carey was asked to leave by the restaurant's staff, but initially refused. According to arrest records, officers followed the car that Carey was riding in, and saw her jump out near the intersection of Lyndon Lane and New LaGrange Road, and start...

Steve Kroft Looks At Mike Wallace's Legendary Interviewing Style In this age of shock jocks, screaming matches on cable TV and radio call-in shows that thrive on rumor and speculation, Mike Wallace looks positively saintly. True, he's tough and sometimes rough. But as correspondent Steve Kroft reports, he's always in command of the facts — and often knows them better than the person he's interviewing. There are some journalists who have learned, or stolen, from Mike Wallace much of what they know about the business, particularly: asking the impertinent question. For a refresher course, Kroft sat down with Wallace in...

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of Common Sense who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. he will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isnt always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (dont spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting stategies (adults, not kids, are...

ALBANY, Minn. (AP) -- The man believed to be Minnesota's oldest resident, Charles Young, has died. He was 110. Young died Wednesday night at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. He was born Dec. 28, 1894, in Stearns County. The Gerontology Research Group, which tracks "supercentenarians" who reach the age of 110, listed Young as the fourth-oldest man it knew of in the United States, the sixth-oldest man in the world, and 57th-oldest person in the world as of July 20 by its records. Certainly the oldest inhabitant in The Crocodile Hunter's Australia Zoo on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, and surely the oldest inhabitant on the Australian continent, Harriet is a giant Galapagos land tortoise, collected by Charles Darwin on his famous Voyage of the Beagle. With her date of birth calculated to 1830, she's well into her 18th decade now, although she has some way to go to surpass Darwin's gift of a tortoise to the King of Tonga that lived to 189! Steve Irwin (TV's Crocodile Hunter) and his Zoo staff have cared for Harriet since 1987, prior to which she had been...

Everyone over 40 should have a pretty easy time at this exam. If you are under 40 you can claim a handicap. This is a History Exam for those who don't mind seeing how much they really remember about what went on in their life. Get paper and pencil and number from 1 to 20. Write the letter of each answer and score at the end. Then, best of all, before you pass this test on, put your score in the subject line! 1. In the 1940s, where were automobile headlight dimmer switches located? a. On the floor shift knob...

Today is my birthday. Although I am trying not to think about it, it is difficult because 50 years ago today I was born. All my family is dead or MIA and I have no friends who care. My two kids will take me see the Matrix Reloaded this weekend. Birthday's suck because you get to see just how unimportant you really are.
