Late in the day for a HAPPY FATHER’S DAY but here it is. And it is a few days late (Army Birthday is Flag Day, June 14) but a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the Army. On Saturday the patriots played a numbers game with the moonbatty occupiers. We eventually had 8 while the maggots had 7. The 8 patriots this week include Veterans Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima), Halsey (USMC - Korea), Carl (Army- Vietnam), Lurker Jim (Army- Vietnam), and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s), along with Lurker Bill, Fraxinus and myself. A Big THANK YOU to [Mrs] T for...

After 3 weeks of not showing up, the moonbats have once again miraculously appeared. The following week they morphed right before our eyes into Occupy Olney. WEEK 332, June 02,2012The 8 patriots this week include Veterans Dave (Army- WWII), Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima), Lurker Jim (Army- Vietnam) and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s), along with Lurker Bill, Janet, GunsAreOK and myself. A Big THANK YOU to [Mrs] T for her continuous picture taking. MOONBATS : Two BELOW LEFT: Dave and Glenn - both WWII Vets, Navy and Marines. Fitting reunion they have almost every Saturday. Part Three and the last of catching up with my back log of missing AARs. As mentioned in Parts One and Two, a very good way to remember and honor our Marines, soldiers, sailors, airmen and coasties who have given their lives over the past 2 centuries is by getting caught up on the AARs for Olney, MD’s Support the Troops Rallies during this Memorial Day Weekend. Part of the freedom we have is being able to stand on any corner in America and have the freedom to express ourselves. The patriots in Olney stand to give voice to our...

Seems like a very good way to remember and honor our Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen who have given their lives over the past 2 centuries is by getting caught up on the Support the Troops Rallies in Olney AARs during this Memorial Day Weekend. Part of the freedom we have is being able to stand on any corner in America and have the freedom to express ourselves. The patriots in Olney stand to give voice to our military against those who scorn and disrespect our brave military. One other thought is also paramount in our minds. We let our...

With regulars Fraxinus and GunsAreOK not being able to make it today, our ranks were filled in by other FReepers. Sensei Ern and Cindy_True_Supporter with her dog Augie unexpectedly showed up to make eight. Just like at Walter Reed, one never knows who actually will stop by but the good number of patriots makes for part of the Almost Perfect Rally. The 8 patriots this week include Legionnaires Halsey (USMC - Korea) and Carl (Army - Vietnam), Lurkers Bill and Jim, and Cindy_True_Supporter, Sensei Ern, [Mrs] T and myself. If you have been keeping up with the moonbats’ numbers the...

Two Saturdays, Support the Troops Rally vs a anti-troop protest, two massages, and the moonbat hypocrisy. Seems that the moonbats, aka the Quakers, aka the “quackers”, can’t seem to stay on message or be true to their beliefs. Read on and see the differences between the two weeks. WEEK 315, FEBRUARY 04,2012The 7 patriots this week include Legionnaire Halsey (USMC - Korea), Lurkers Bill and Jim, Cindy_True_Supporter, GunsAreOK, [Mrs] T and myself. A Big THANK YOU to [Mrs] T for faithfully taking picture each week. On cold days she has to keep the camera inside her jacket so the batteries...

Two weeks worth of AARs in this report. Last week got away from me. WEEK 313, JANUARY 21,2012God looked down upon us this Saturday. The night before a little over an inch of snow fell. Streets were predicted to be icy and as the morning wore on, an icy cold rain was to continue. But as I said, God was pleased with our support of the troops and the rain basically stopped. The roads were just wet and the shopping center had shoveled the corner. With the anticipated rain, we only put up the flanking flags. Plus with the snow...

I had to laugh when I opened the photobucket file for this week. [Mrs] T said that she didn’t take a lot of pictures. But only FIVE - it just made me laugh. Part of the reason was that the camera got so cold so quick that the batteries lost their umph. The other reason was [Mrs] T’s trigger finger also got real cold even though she was layered with foot and hand warmers. How cold was it? 25 degrees with a moderate wind. Do I hear violins from some of you in North Dakota? I bet you do not...

The DC Chapter brought in the New Year with Olney’s 6 Year Anniversary in Support of Our Troops. The 8 patriots this week include Legionnaires Glenn (USMC - WWII), Halsey (USMC - Korea), Lurker Jim (Army - Vietnam Vet), Cindy_True_Supporter, Fraxinus, iMacMan, [Mrs] T and myself. BELOW: And for our special occasion, we brought the MOAB out. iMacMan and I are putting it together. We were told NO donuts or hot chocolate until it is up. Weather was nice out today, at least at the start. While setting up I had my jacket off. After a while the wind picked up...

Seven Patriots supported our troops in Olney this morning of New Year’s Eve. Our special guest today was 3DJoy who brought up some warm southern temps for the DC area the past 10 days. Some spring bulbs even started to come up. While I was in the sun, I had to remove my jacket. Of course when the shade over took my spot, it got a little chilly and back on went the jacket. We also had a “newbie” today. Martin from [Mrs] T’s and Cindy_True_Supporter’s American Legion Post. Martin had such a good time waving, talking with every one...

No matter what the weather, what the holiday, what the country, our military perform their duty 24/7/365. The least we can do is show our support. And this week in Olney Santa and his elves do our duty. BELOW: SANTA - love the shades. Santa’s patriotic elves this week include Legionnaire Halsey (USMC - Korea), GunsAreOK, [Mrs] T and myself. As everyone is aware, winter is creeping closer. In the western parts of Maryland there has been several "measurable" snow falls. I know, several inches is nothing compared to some places, but here in Maryland, it is the talk of the day. The colder weather is still bearable but the wind today made it uncomfortable. The flags looked good though. BufordP - This flag is for you. Patriots in Olney on this Saturday are: Lurker Bill and FReepers Fraxinus, GunsAreOK, iMacMan, [Mrs] T and myself. iMacMan has been out with us the last month or so. iMac is a "cold...

Earlier last week one of our American Legion supporters of our Support the Troops Rally in Olney died in an accident while on vacation in the Caribbean. Dennis, U.S. Army and Korean War Vet, was an frequent and welcomed supporter in Olney. Always friendly towards patriots, he did not like the moonbats’ message. He will be sorely missed. For 302 Weeks patriots have been supporting our military in Olney. This Saturday a Navy Vet stopped by to THANK US with a bag of WARM egg ‘n cheese bagels. While it was not extremely cold, there was a chill and the warmth of the bagels was welcomed. Probably more welcome was eating the bagels while the "quackers" looked on. BELOW: Lurker Jim, a Vietnam Vet himself, thanks Navy Vet for the bagels. Patriots in Olney on this Week 302: Legionnaires Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima) and Carl (Army - Vietnam) along with Lurkers Bill and Jim, and FReepers GunsAreOK,...

The old hippie lib “Quackers” did what was expected of them - They have been to another anarchist protest. They were pawns, sheeple, morons in a movement that they think they understand. The only way the real organizers behind the “occupiers” could get big enough crowds is to get every lib, leftists and anti-American group possible to show up. BUT, there is hope for our future if we can hold the line. This week our daughter and 3 of our grand kids were in Olney to help out. Our patriots extent across 7 decades - from our 9 year old granddaughter...

Fall weather is definitely upon us. The weather changes from moment to moment. Just yesterday, Thursday, Oct. 13, after a rainy morning, the sun popped out to warm us up to the mid-70s. Then storms rolled in during the rush hour, only to have a tornado touch down on I-95 near Quantico Marine Base. But I have to go back two Saturdays to our Olney Support the Troops Rally. After several weeks of having other commitments, The American Legion presence was once again felt on the corner. Joining us were Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima), Dave (Army - WWII) and friend Janet, and Halsey (USMC - Korea). Glenn has been on sick leave for about 4 weeks but made it back as soon as he felt better. 6 other Patriots in Olney this Saturday include Lurkers Bill & Jim, Fraxinus, GunsAreOK, [Mrs] Trooprally and myself Altogether there were 10 patriots supporting our troops. Lazy Saturday morning this week. Best things going is the we once again out numbered the moonbats, 7-5, and Lurker Bill’s music (BELOW). If you have been at Walter Reed the last 2 years or so, you would have heard his combo of patriotic songs, service melodies, Barry Sadler’s Ballad of the Green Berets, big band music and what I call jungle music. Of course I also like Robert Horton’s Sink the Bismarck and original version of Battle of New Orleans. Check out the 1959 black ‘n white video. Jeez, just keep finding them. Here’s Jimmy Dean’s Big Bad JohnLots...

WE ARE HERE FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE THERE FOR US!! BELOW: And in case any one forgets, the moonbats are wrong about their views. These two signs sum up why we have been out at Olney for 217 Saturdays, for 255 CONSECUTIVE Fridays at Walter Reed, and on March 20, we will also be at the Arlington Cemetery Memorial Circle supporting our military. We’ve been roughly plowed out of our subdivisions since late Thursday with the roads being rutted with up to 5" of snow pack. Sung to “Clap On - Clap Off” if you hadn’t made the connection. Now you’ll have this theme running thru your brain as you get snowed in. :-))WEEK 211 - Jan. 23,2010 CLAP OFF - NO SNOW!!Hooray, warmer weather continued this week. While it was only around 30 degrees, the sun was out, the wind was still, and there was NO SNOW on the ground. The sun actually made it feel toasty out since we were not dressed for the sun. At Walter Reed 30 degrees is chilly since there is no sun. Patriots in Olney this Saturday include Glenn...

WEEK 209 - Jan. 09,2010 Cold as cold does. Looks like this may be our last real cold Saturday for a while. What you see for Week 209 is the dusting of snow that we received 24 hours earlier. It was too cold out for even the sun to melt this dusting. As the below picture shows, our FReeps are nothing compared to what our brave soldiers in Afghanistan trudge through. We only endure the snow and cold for a few hours. Our troops have to sleep out in the extreme cold. Picture borrowed from a Tea Party Express email....

We start our 5th Year with temps in the high 20s, wind chill in the low-teens, gusts in the mid-40MPH. When two fearless moonbats showed up, I bet everyone that they would be gone by 11. I was wrong - they were gone by 10:50. But with 8 patriots out this morning we started our 5th year in good spirits. Before I get into this Saturday’s Troop Support Rally, a look back at YEAR FOUR. Sadly we lost 3 Legionnaires this year. BELOW LEFT: Clyde (Navy - WWII), BELOW MIDDLE: Francis (Army - WWI), and BELOW RIGHT: Frank (Army -...

After a cold and rainy Christmas Day Rally at Walter Reed, Olney was the FReepers Christmas Gift. A misty rain was still there, blowing all over our glasses, but it was sufficiently warm that no gloves were needed. At least I didn't wear any. And the State Highway Administration has provided us with another flag pole support. BELOW LEFT: The new signal pole that will hold some additional flags. I’m putting up one flag on the power pole but the new pole will hold two. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill setting up a banner on the soon to be torn down...

Christmas Day evening at Walter Reed, Week 245, December 25, 2009 Wet, Icy and Standing Tall FRONT GATE NOTES Not just another Friday Night at Walter ReedAfter four and a half years of Friday night... “support the troops” rallies at Walter Reed, the DC Chapter of Free Republic, lurkers and friends, were way overdue for a Friday evening on Christmas Day (and next week on New Year’s Day). And so it was last night on a wet, icy dark evening. It was quiet with only one ambulance arriving, Very few cars or pedestrians going in or out of the front...

Walter Reed, Week 244, 12/18/09 T’was the Friday Before Christmas Santa Arrives at Walter Reed FRONT GATE NOTES T’was the Friday Before Christmas and Santa joined the DC Chapter in Supporting the Troops and their Families. This past Friday night saw the beginning of what the lame stream media is now calling the great Blizzard of ’09. It began during our Support the Troops Friday night rally and ended early Sunday morning leaving 21 inches on the ground. But it didn’t scare the DC Chapter of Free Republic away from its 244th consecutive Friday night at the front gates of Walter...

This Saturday, to all those who have attended Olney’s Support the Troops Rally, YOU WERE OUT ON OLNEY’s CORNER “IN SPIRIT”. As shown in Weeks 203 & 204's AAR, we had the Navy flag up this Saturday. And it looks as good this AAR as in yesterday's AAR. BELOW: Our NEW Navy flag. Before the Air Force and Coasties complain, we would be more than pleased to put up your branch’s flag. Just FRmail me for our address. With the new traffic light configuration we’ll have more traffic poles to attach your flag to it. With our group mainly being associated with the Marines and Army, their flags got the prime space. We didn’t want to put your flags on the...

WEEK 202: NOV. 21,2009 The MAC is BACK, the iMacMan that is. iMacMan is someone I consider a “cold weather FReeper”. His retirement keeps him away from Olney during the warmer months. While iMacMan didn’t bring his cameras today, he takes some of the best pictures of our passing supporters that I know of. And then the edits he does are great. To those who know cameras, I do not, he sets his cameras on wide lens and then with one push of the button, gets 6 frames shot. BELOW: Several of iMacMan’s neat pictures. Did I forget to mention...

Nope, you did not miss Weeks 202 and 203. This Saturday’s Support the Troops Rally was so neat that I had to do it now. While our snowy Saturday morning is nothing compared to what the mid-west or northeast is getting, we were out there. Roll call of this week’s 7 patriots includes Legionnaires Halsey (Korea - USMC), Lurker Bill and Cindy_True_Supporter, Fraxinus, GunsAreOK, [Mrs] Trooprally and myself. Videos by [Mrs] T. Because of the weather conditions, and the construction removing the concrete walk where we put together our banners on wet days, we only put up the flags on...

Fall painting, raking leaves, winterizing the summer’s motorized yard equipment, cutting and splitting firewood - then there’s every day work if one has it, to pay the bills. And before I know it, the Olney AARs are 3 weeks behind. So here’s the oldest two weeks. I have something special for Weeks 202 and 203 so they will be separate AARs. Pictures for both weeks are by [Mrs] T. WEEK 200, Nov. 07,2009 Roll call of this week’s 11 patriots includes Legionnaires Glenn (WWII - Marines), Halsey (Korea - USMC), Dennis (Korea - Army), Carl (Vietnam - Army), Lurkers Bill...

Sidebar Mods, the Quakers have a sign openly saying this is them in the last posted pic. So hopefully you won’t remove this thread. Yep, even though the GREAT PUMPKIN couldn’t personally be on the corner (must have been resting up for the evening,s Halloween), he sent us a personal message, held by Cindy_True_Supporter (BELOW) And the Legionnaires were also there, all in their Legion jackets (BELOW). Pictures this week are by [Mrs] T. Moonbats: 1, and she left early. But we couldn’t blame her. Weather dropped into the 40s with rain on Friday and the rain and cold continued into Saturday. Dave had to stay in the car while Janet gave her time on the corner. Carl...

As we gathered Oct. 19 for Week 193, Post Commander Halsey came with the sad news. Another Legionnaire, Francis, had passed away the night before. He seemed in good health for a WWII vet but his heart just gave out. Francis was the Post treasurer for as long as any one could remember and a good supporter of our Saturday morning Support the Troops Rallies. He would come, spend about half an hour with us and then head out to see his wife. She had advance alzheimers and didn’t know Francis anymore. But off he went anyways to see her...

While the FReepers from Olney were enjoying ourselves at the Capitol on 9-12, the Legionnaires were holding down the Patriot's Corner in Olney. In fact, they out numbered the Quakers in Olney, 7 to their 6. And No. 6 was iffy. He stood talking with the moonbats but never held a sign. This week’s honor roll call of includes Legionnaires Ed (Army, WWII), Glenn (USMC, WWII), Dave (Army, WWII) and friend, Janet, Halsey (USMC, Korea), Carl (Army, Vietnam) and Bill, (Army - Vietnam). Hate to give these 8 moonbats top billing but their new signs and lack of another catchy title warrants it. Now I’m just warranting it, not guaranteeing it, so next week we should be back on track. Yep, the moonbats are getting braver with their signs. Braver? Maybe just sheeply emboldened with Obambi leading the way. And there were 8 of the “Quackers” out today BELOW. We had 8 also. For the last several weeks we’ve been out numbering them. BELOW The moonbats’ signs. “Impeach them both” is replaced by “Prosecute the Torturers”. Ya, as if Obambi will go into...

Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins is doing something for our wounded warriors. Homes For Our Troops is sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins. Their corporate sponsors are listed HERE. Corporations publicly supporting our troops, putting money where their mouth is. Too many people and corporations say they support our troops but not many of them actually do, or marginally donate. Legionnaire Frank is the second Vet and dear friend of the Olney Patriots to pass away this summer. Clyde passed away in early May and now Frank. Frank passed away this past Tuesday after a blood disorder finally got the best of him. Thankfully he passed away quickly and in comfort, with his family around him. The last time Frank was out supporting the troops was June 6th, D-Day. He is shown BELOW with his sign special made for Olney. That’s Lurker Bill next to him and Glenn, our WWII Iwo Jima Marine in the back ground.. This is his...

FReepers, and conservatives, are just a good bunch of people....

HAPPY 233rd BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!! We arrived at 10:00AM as did the moonbats. INDEPENDENCE DAY should be the proper name for this most wonderful holiday. The name 4th of July is just another 3 day weekend for sales. This AAR covers two weeks as you can see.
