Central Florida's largest newspaper is endorsing challenger Dan Webster over Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson in the 8th Congressional District race, calling Grayson's antics -- including misrepresenting Webster's discussion of the Bible -- an "embarrassment" for Floridians. The Orlando Sentinel editors wrote in Friday's edition that Grayson "carries the hyper-partisan fever" and Webster is the "antidote."

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orlando police say an officer, who broke an 84-year-old man's neck, did nothing wrong. Officer Travis Lamont was cleared by the department late Friday morning. Orlando Police Chief Val Demings said Officer Lamont did not violate policy. He broke 84-year-old Daniel Daley's neck in September while arresting him. Since the department has cleared Officer Lamont's use of force, there will be no internal affairs investigation into the officer's actions. WFTV spoke with Daley's lawyer, Mark NeJame, Friday. NeJame told WFTV he is not surprised that the Orlando Police Department cleared the officer, but says it was wrong...

Man in Elmo costume is attacked and breaks man's fingers He's cute. He's cuddly. He's red all over. And he throws a mean right hook. Introducing Florida's version of Elmo. A man wearing the Sesame Street character's costume for a promotional event pummeled a guy in Orlando after he was attacked in a guitar shop over the weekend. The costumed fighter's name hasn't been released, but he left a pretty good impression on his attacker, who told police he felt threatened by the Elmo costume. Police believe the attack was unprovoked and the attacker might have mental issues. That guy...

Did Far-Left Dem Congressman Alan Grayson Scam The City Of Orlando? (FR exclusive) Citizens of Central Florida are accustomed to being scammed by far-left Congressman Alan Grayson. Grayson recently spent $73,000 of federal taxpayers’ money on a re-election DVD. The DVD was supposedly an “informational” recording, but everyone who held their nose and watched it saw that it was clearly a “re-elect me” piece from Florida’s most infamous Congressman….. paid for by us. Grayson is well known and reviled throughout the country for announcing on the House floor that Republicans wanted old people to die to reduce health care costs....

The last time existing houses were so cheap in Orlando was May 1998, when a mid-range home cost $98,984. In comparison, it was just three years ago when median prices peaked at $264,436... more than 70 percent of August sales were distress properties. If being homeless had an upside, you might suppose that at least it's free. Except it's not — not if you want to stay at most Central Florida shelters. For years, the region's shelters have charged small fees to those who spend the night — in part to offset their own costs, in part to encourage people to get a job and move on. But in the worst economy in decades, even the homeless are getting poorer, with many struggling to come up with as little as $2 to $10 a night. "How can you charge someone who doesn't have...

With their backs against the proverbial wall, all three came out and laid a gigantic egg. That’s $50 million that should have just stayed home and watched the Eastern Conference finals on television — because they were all bystanders on Saturday night in Boston’s 94-71 thrashing in Game 3. The man survived the shooting, but then the shooter killed herself. Paula Harris, 30, drove all the way from the Atlanta, Georgia area, according to investigators, and checked into the Holiday Inn at Universal Boulevard and Sand Lake Road (see map), just over four miles from 44-year-old Andre Barboza's Orlando apartment....
