Terror-Funded MSA at Ohio State(Feds close down Muslim terrorist support group)

February 20, 2006 proved to be an eventful day for the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at The Ohio State University. Not only did that date mark the conclusion of their weekend-long “Leaders of Tomorrow” conference, but that was also the day that their conference sponsor, Kindhearts, was raided by federal law enforcement and closed by order of the Department of the Treasury for financing terrorism, freezing its assets. According to the US government, Kindhearts, which was established following the closure of the Holy Land Foundation and the Global Relief Foundation, was not only engaged in providing millions for HAMAS in...

ROTC puts fake rifles out of sight

Ohio State University's ROTC cadets have ended the decades-long practice of combat training with mock rifles on the main campus because of public edginess in the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings, officials said. Since the decision was made a couple of weeks ago, tactical training with rubber replicas of an M-16 rifle has been moved indoors, or cadets have trained without rifles, said Navy Capt. Steven Noce, who heads the university's ROTC program. The tactical training, typically conducted around the ROTC building near Ohio Stadium, has generated a few calls to police from concerned people in the past year,...

OSU to circulate only 'green' paper

Bowing to pressure from students, Ohio State University has decided to green up its paper supply. Beginning July 1, the university will buy only recycled copy paper, saving an estimated 8,000 trees and keeping 382,000 pounds of waste out of landfills annually, according to the business office. OSU uses nearly a half-million reams of paper each year, and only 35,000 had been recycled paper, said Helen DeSantis, assistant vice president for business operations. The decision is a victory for Free the Planet, a campus group dedicated to improving the environment. Its members demonstrated on campus early last year and asked...

Okla. House passes campus gun bill

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The state House agreed Thursday to allow people with specialized firearms training, such as military personnel, to carry concealed weapons on the state's college campuses, despite opponents who said it made no sense following shootings at schools across the country. The measure was approved 65-36, and now heads to the state Senate for a vote. Introduced by Rep. Jason Murphey, R-Guthrie, the law would authorize active-duty military and National Guard and reserve personnel, honorably discharged veterans and others with firearms training certified by the Council on Law Enforcement Education who hold a state concealed weapons license to...

Librarian sues OSU to get his job back

A former Ohio State University librarian accused of sexual harassment after recommending a conservative book for freshmen has filed a lawsuit against the university and some of its faculty. Scott Savage, who said he resigned because of personal and professional attacks on his character, asks for his job back and for OSU to be forced to change its sexual-harassment policies. OSU is "an aggressive proponent of the homosexual lifestyle by virtue of its practices and policies," Savage says in the lawsuit, filed in federal court because he says his civil rights were violated. "OSU is therefore a naturally hostile environment...

In the Midst of the Moonbats

What is an auditorium half-full of moonbats like? Well first of all it doesn't smell very good, second, it's very loud, third, it has a back-up supply of policemen at the ready for the inevitable task of evicting the hecklers, and fourth, it really makes you wish you had a taser with you. Alberto Gonzales spoke at Ohio State this evening. I went to his lecture, forgetting that this is not a normal environmnt, it's a college campus, and was reminded of that fact by the shouting loons as Gonzales walked on stage.
Buckeyhes and BCS: Third Times the Harm

NEW ORLEANS -- With the 2007 football season complete, here's the game plan for 2008: Jim Tressel's Ohio State team has lost back-to-back games for the BCS national championship. We need border patrols along Interstate 10, from Jacksonville to Pensacola. A Coast Guard blockade at Biscayne Bay. And the FAA should redirect all inbound flights to South Florida from Ohio. If you see a silver helmet and a sweater vest coming, contact authorities. Because next year's BCS National Championship Game will be played in Miami, and the Ohio State Buckeyes aren't invited. Especially if the Southeastern Conference champion is invited....

Ohio State Buckeyes v. LSU Tigers: Live Thread

Well, in a few hours, a few LSU folks will recall with dread the name Greg Frey. Yep, the Buckeye quarterback no one remembers but die-hard Buckeye and LSU fans. The quarterback who led the team to one of the most spectacular comebacks ever witnessed at Ohio Stadium. As Wikipedia puts it: On September 24, 1988, he rallied Ohio State from a 33-20 deficit in the final four minutes for a 36-33 victory over the ninth-ranked LSU Tigers. I was at that game in the shoe, urging all the fans who were leaving early to stay put. It was gratifying...

When children can support themselves, they generally leave their parents’ home.
