  • Time for another liberal “right-wingers killed JFK” story

Via Leon Wolf, one of my favorite genres of lefty revisionism. Liberals have, I assume, been farting out pieces like this since the day Oswald’s political sympathies became publicly known, but semi-respectable left-wing pubs have been picking them up more frequently since 2009 in the name of bludgeoning Obama’s conservative critics. The “logic” runs like this: (1) Dallas 1963 was a very conservative, staunchly anti-Kennedy city; (2) JFK was murdered in Dallas; (3) ergo, very conservative, staunchly anti-Obama tea partiers are basically terrorists. You could kinda sorta forgive this if the assassin himself had been right-wing. It’s unfair to smear...
  • Ten years after Oswald assasinated Kennedy Democrats became Marxist party.

This just struck me like a bolt of lightning--if Oswald had more patience and was willing to wait about ten years he would have seen his dream come true of a Marxists state in the United States. The assasination was not even necessary to bring about the Marxist government that Oswald wanted. If Oswald were living today he would be holding pro-Obama signs and quite pleased with the direction this country is going in. The Marxists took over the Democrat Party in the seventies and today most Democrat voters don't even seem to be the wiser. They wept at Kennedy's...

MOSCOW AND BOSTON — Lee Harvey Oswald’s Russian was still shaky in 1961, when he was working as a factory metalworker in the provincial Soviet city of Minsk. It fell to a young student engineer named Stanislav Shushkevich to help him out. "He was a simple martinet, and I found nothing in common with him. His Russian at that point was passable. We had about a dozen lessons in all, after that we had no contacts,” Mr.Shushkevich told the Monitor in an interview. “My main concern later on was that he would be given the task of fabricating equipment I...

It may have been a mystery at one time, but not 50 years later. The fingerprints of the Soviet intelligence service and its Cuban affiliate are all over Oswald. One of the main controversies covered superficially in the program was Oswald’s trip to Mexico City—a favorite place for foreign communist governments to contact communist agents living in the U.S. PBS claimed that Oswald visited the Soviet and Cuban embassies looking for a visa, but was rebuffed by communist officials. It said, “…in the end both the Russians and the Cubans rejected him. All his plans to fight for Castro and...

A Texas real-estate developer is in possession of footage of John F. Kennedy's motorcade from that fateful day in Dallas that he believes supports the theory that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone. Whether or not the footage is genuine isn't yet known, but if it is, it would represent a dramatic development in a story 50 years in the making. Following the 50th anniversary of the death of JFK, Stephen Bowen, who is also a principal in small film production company, decided the time was right to sell the footage, which reportedly depicts a second shooter, to the...

In November, the network that aired the Emmy-winning 2011 miniseries "The Kennedys" will debut "JFK: The Smoking Gun," a new documentary offering the theory that John F. Immediately after the assassination and ever since, the right has tried to deflect any connection between its fevered Kennedy hatred and Oswald’s addled psyche with the fact that the assassin had briefly defected to the Soviet Union. America’s violent culture wars had started before JFK was shot. They were all on display in Oswald’s Dallas. At least in 1963, polling showed that only 5 percent of the country—a fringe—subscribed to the radical anti-government views championed by the John Birch Society and other militants of the right. Is the Central Intelligence Agency covering up some dark secret about the assassination of John F. Kennedy? Probably not. But you would not know it from the C.I.A.’s behavior. For six years, the agency has fought in federal court to keep secret hundreds of documents from 1963, when an anti-Castro Cuban group it paid clashed publicly with the soon-to-be assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. The C.I.A. says it is only protecting legitimate secrets. "Inherit the Wind" is running on Broadway again, night after night pitting the righteously rational Clarence Darrow against the Bible-thumping antievolutionist William Jennings Bryan. The 1955 play--a chestnut of high-school English courses across the country--concerns the Scopes "Monkey Trial" of 1925 and is meant to capture the moment in American history when science and reason superseded, at last, the myth and superstition of foolish reactionaries. It has become something of a liberal sacrament. But as James Piereson shows in "Camelot and the Cultural Revolution," myth and superstition were the essence of the liberal response to John F. BERLIN (Jan. 4) - Cuba lay behind the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy by Lee Harvey Oswald and its agents provided the gunman with money and support, an award-winning German director says in a new documentary film. Wilfried Huismann spent three years researching "Rendezvous with Death," based on interviews with former Cuban secret agents, U.S. officials and a Russian intelligence source, and on research in Mexican security archives. The film, shown to journalists in Berlin on Wednesday, says Oswald traveled to Mexico City by bus in September 1963, seven weeks before the Kennedy shooting, and met agents at...

Did Oswald train at Camp Peary? By Paul Aron The Virginia Gazette A purported CIA memo circulating on the Internet says flatly that Lee Harvey Oswald was trained at Camp Peary in 1958, five years before he assassinated President Kennedy. The document is probably fake. “This is one of those cases where if it seems too good to be true, it probably is,” said assassination expert Jim Marrs in an e-mail to the Gazette. Marrs is the author of the 1990 book, “Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy.” The document, dated March 3, 1964, purports to be written by CIA...

FORT WORTH - The name is etched on a pink granite tombstone only inches from the grave of one of the most notorious killers in American history. "Nick Beef." The neighboring gravestone, nearly identical, says merely: "Oswald." Lee Harvey Oswald was buried Nov. 25, 1963, in east Fort Worth's Rose Hill Cemetery. It was three days after the assassination of President Kennedy in downtown Dallas and one day after Oswald was fatally shot by nightclub owner Jack Ruby. Oswald's mother, Marguerite, who died Jan. 17, 1981, is buried next to him. The Beef marker is on the other side. It...

Larry Buchanan, the filmmaker who has died aged 81, specialised in the niche market for what he called "guerrilla filmmaking" - truly dreadful B-movies with such names as Zontar, the Thing from Venus; Curse of the Swamp Creature; Naughty Dallas and Mars Needs Women, a film which reputedly features in every list of the worst movies ever made. But even this last title found a market, and reached its widest audiences in a version dubbed into Yiddish. Buchanan combined the roles of producer, director, screenwriter, editor and, where appropriate, voice-over narrator. He was unashamed, even proud, of tacky production values,...

Have not seen/read/heard any mention of JFK assassination. The filtered records sealed till 2038. Curious, all the press about Senator Arlen Specter, and hardly any mention of his "magic bullet" theory. Did find this book on a search, yet another theory: http://shop.wnd.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=1338

"If anyone could clear up the main points of contradiction between the [Warren] Report's conclusions [with regard to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy] and much of the evidenca and testimony presented before it, it would be the Commission investigator responsible for ascertaining the facts related to the actual moment of the assassination-the sequence of events, the number of shots fired, the source of the shots, the number of assassins. It would be Arlen Specter. At age 33, Arlen Spector was assigned as an attorney to the Warren Commission Investigating the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy. His title...

There are many conspiracy theories about who assassinated President John F. Kennedy. So many, in fact, the suspect assassinators would have to be standing shoulder to shoulder on the grassy knoll or perched on each other’s shoulders in the Texas School Book Depository. According to a 2001 Gallup poll, 81 percent of Americans believe the assassination was a conspiracy, while only 13 percent subscribe to the Warren Commission’s “lone nut” theory. “It’s preposterous on the face of it to believe that a mousy little guy with a $12.95 rifle could bring down the leader of the free world,” says Kenneth...

Ruby shot Oswald in the Dallas police HQ basement DALLAS, Texas (Reuters) -- Dallas plans to allow tourists into the underground garage where President Kennedy's assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was gunned down more than 40 years ago, city officials said Wednesday. Nightclub owner Jack Ruby shot Oswald in the basement of what was then the Dallas police headquarters on November 24, 1963. TV footage and photos of Ruby emerging from a crowd and firing a handgun at Oswald as he was handcuffed to a Dallas police officer have been among the most-seen news images in the world. Visitors will be...

The rifle was kept in the basement of family friends, the Paines, cousins of John Forbes Kerry, at whose home Maria Oswald was living at the time. Michael R. Paine was the son of Ruth Forbes Paine, who remarried Arthur Young, the inventor of the Bell helicopter used in Korea and Vietnam. Michael R. Paine and Ruth Forbes Paine Young were Forbes family heirs and as is Sen. Kerry, a coincidence since both he and the assassinated President bear the initials JFK. See Warren Commission report describing testimony of Michael R. Paine and his wife, Ruth Paine. [1] Because of...

Big>Killing of Kennedy may have derailed Cuba pact By Julian Borger in Washington November 27, 2003 Days before his assassination, president John F. Kennedy was planning a meeting with Cuban officials to negotiate the normalisation of relations with Fidel Castro, a declassified tape and White House documents reveal. The rapprochement was cut off in Dallas 40 years ago by Lee Harvey Oswald, who appears to have believed he was assassinating the president in the interests of the Cuban revolution. But the new evidence suggests Dr Castro saw Kennedy's killing as a setback. He sought a dialogue with the next administration,...
