One of the leaders of the Occupy Cleveland movement, Brandon Baxter, is one of those arrested for today's terrorist plot to bomb a bridge in Cleveland. Occupier Brandon Baxter appears to have gotten the guidance he sought. OCCUPIED — Occupy Cleveland organizer Brandon Baxter gets some shade in the Occupy Cleveland tent in downtown Cleveland on March 21, 2012. Baxter, one of the few remaining members of Occupy Cleveland’s physical presence downtown, said the group has seen a sharp decline in numbers since last October because of increasing disorganization. “We need guidance,” he said. Another of today's suspects is Anthony...

In another move that shows the members of Occupy Wall Street are completely out of their minds, a picture of Rebecca Black, famous for singing the poorly-reviewed song "Friday," has appeared on "AnarchistNews.org." The picture inexplicably has a man with a gas mask and probably an ax creeping behind Ms. Black. There is no explanation for the picture whatsoever. However, the photo appears in a lengthy article about how corporations are destroying the world and how people need to "fight back" against a sort of omni-present oppressor. However, the article does state clearly who will save the downtrodden. To quote,...

Last night’s vandalism in the Mission District of San Francisco has drawn some criticism from Occupy activists—for its violent tactics and also for its direction against local businesses. But while many Occupiers would like to limit their focus to big banks and other entities they perceive as getting unwarranted special treatment in the economy, others are just opposed to capitalism altogether. For these protesters, small businesses are fair game. Though last night’s vandalism was in San Francisco, the event that sparked it was organized by Occupy Oakland. And OO describes today’s general strike as an “anti-capitalist” action that also sees...

New York is braced for May Day mayhem. Workers are staring at hellacious commutes today when the flagging Occupy Wall Street movement hopes to get a second wind with a full slate of “general strike" protests across the five boroughs. That could not only make it difficult for people to get to their jobs, but it also could put angry demonstrators on a collision course with beefed-up police. From Bryant Park to Bushwick, demonstrators will protest everything from economic injustice to school privatization in a series of planned and also potentially arrest-inducing unpermitted rallies, marches and walkouts. If the Williamsburg...

Envelopes containing suspicious powder were sent through the mail to at least seven locations in Manhattan, primarily Wells Fargo banks, police officials said. "This is a reminder that you are not in control," said a message that arrived with the envelopes. "Just in case you needed some incentive to stop working we have a little surprise for you. Think fast you have seconds." Several samples tested negative -- evidently containing corn starch, police said. Later, all the powder samples were determined to be non-toxic, The Associated Press reported.

The Portland Police Bureau is expected to end the fiscal year in the red, overspending its $169 million budget by $3.42 million. The largest drivers are nearly $2 million in Occupy Portland policing costs; more retirements (26 so far this fiscal year), bringing larger sick leave and vacation payouts; and cash payouts to officers for earned holiday compensatory time. As a result, the bureau this spring has asked for additional one-time funds to plug the budget hole.

Not since the "lost generation" of the First World War has the errors and miscalculations of their elders so disastrously affected the younger generation. Yet, today's youth seem curiously unaware of the bad hand dealt them. Witness the aimlessness of the Occupy Wall Street protest, whose cause and goal should have been clear. What enabled the young OWS protesters to camp out for months was their unemployed status. Indeed, the unemployment rate for all 16- to 24-year-olds is a stratospheric 17 percent. So jobs should have been their unambiguous and elemental cause. Instead, OWS squandered its energy on class warfare,...

If you are looking for employment in the passé field of construction, petroleum, automotive or even thinking of opening up your own business in this economy you know the deck is stacked against you. Time has passed you by to get a golden ticket from Harvard and you did not have the foresight to donate big enough to Obama’s campaign to cash in on green jobs, so what do you do?

Four Occupy Cal protesters were arraigned today on misdemeanor charges for their involvement in a demonstration at Sproul Plaza at the University of California at Berkeley campus on Nov. 9. At the request of the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, Superior Court Judge Paul Seeman issued orders which require that the protesters stay away 100 yards from all UC property, except for when they go to and from class and work. Attorney Ronald Cruz, who represents three Occupy Cal protesters but not the four people who were arraigned today, attended today's hearing and said Seeman made it clear that the...

Citing chronic disruption of business by Occupy movement protesters, Minnesota-based U.S. Bank has closed its branch office on the University of California, Davis, campus. In a March 1 letter to the UC Board of Regents, the bank said Occupy protesters have intermittently blocked the door to the bank branch in the Memorial Union since January. The bank chose to close during some of the protests. The bank said the situation ultimately became "intolerable." UC officials said they believe the termination letter is premature, noting that UCD had been in discussions with bank representatives about the future of the branch office....

Occupy New Haven activists faced a deadline to leave the city Green, but a federal judge ruled Wednesday that they can stay for at least two weeks while their case is heard in court. The office of New Haven mayor John DeStefano released a statement Wednesday that said, "Any structures or personal belongings on the Green after noon (Wednesday) are subject to removal and may be discarded." Lawyers for the Occupy group said the activists' free speech rights are at stake, and they were seeking a court order barring any eviction. "We're going to have to use those two weeks...
