Thanks to an intrepid blogger with the tag Trapdoc posting a letter to Mark Steyn, the search for the Wikipedia Libelist responsible for damaging posts to the Rush Limbaugh account has been narrowed to the IP address of a New York City law firm: "The quotes were added by a user with the IP address of 69.64.213.146. In a stunning request, the Obama administration has made it clear to poll-challenged Gov. Paterson that the White House would prefer he not seek election to a full four-year term next year. The Obama administration sent the message through White House political affairs director Patrick Gaspard, who met with the governor at his campaign headquarters for nearly two hours last Monday, according to a source with knowledge of the conversation. "They expressed concern about his chances about being reelected and the likelihood his presence in the race made it more likely that Rudy Giuliani would enter the contest," the source...

Gov. Paterson is still blaming race for his his troubles. After complaining on a Friday radio show that he is the victim of an "orchestrated" campaign to push him out of office, Paterson told a blogger that some people are uncomfortable with too many black pols in power. "Part of what I feel is that one very successful minority is permissible, but when you see too many success stories, then some people get nervous," Paterson told political blogger Gerson Borrero over the weekend. Paterson's comment is sure to catch the ear of the White House, which already asked him to...

Energy Policy: New York's governor wants to tap into a shale formation that can supply the entire U.S. with natural gas for 65 years. Will NIMBY environmentalists let him stimulate New York's and America's energy economy?Last week, David Patterson released a draft report of his Energy Planning Board that does something Democrats are loath to do: It proposes developing a domestic energy resource — the huge amounts of natural gas trapped in the Marcellus Shale formation. New York produces 5% of its natural gas in-state and imports more than 95% from the Gulf Coast and Canada. The Marcellus Shale stretches...

The Siena College Research Institute released a poll today that showed Gov. David A. Paterson’s approval numbers stay low on every measure. The survey also analyzed what New York voters think about same sex marriage, the state’s junior Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and a property tax cap. The survey found the governor is viewed favorably by 27 percent of voters, with 60 percent looking at the governor in a negative light; the numbers remain virtually identical to last month’s poll, when 27 percent viewed him positively and 63 viewed him unfavorably. Only 15 percent of voters are prepared to elect Paterson...

Israeli consulate plot mastermind going to jail Ringleader Kevin James was 'architect, mastermind of very troubling offense, judge says AFP Published: 03.06.09, 23:58 / Israel News The ringleader of a radical Islamic group that planned to bomb Israeli assets and US military facilities in California was on Friday jailed for 16 years, justice officials said. Kevin James, 32, pleaded guilty to conspiring to wage war against the United States through terror for his part in the plot, which involved three co-conspirators currently in custody. Prosecutors said the plotters were part of Jam'iyyat Ul-Islam Is-Saheeh (JIS,) which was founded by James...

WASHINGTON -- The new chief of staff to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was a top lobbyist for Goldman Sachs Group Inc. until last year, and will have to recuse himself from some government duties under new White House ethics rules. The appointment of Mark Patterson runs into an executive order President Barack Obama signed to limit the ability of officials to move between industry and government. The order, part of a campaign promise to curb the influence business, allows lobbyists to join the administration as long as they don't work on the subjects they tried to influence for a period...

I'm sure a lot of Republican politicians are asking themselves this question: "How on earth can these chumps have beaten us in November?" Look at the last couple of months since the election. The very worst, most hilarious, most ridiculous, most asinine behavior of Laurel and Hardy and the Three Stooges - combined - looks downright competent compared to the Democrats. First we had the pee-in-your-pants-funny meltdown over corrupt Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's appointment of pompous blowhard Rolland Burris to fill Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat. Democrats - who initially called for a special election until it occurred to them...

Surprising pretty much everyone, NY Governor David Patterson is expected to announce today that he has selected upstate conservative Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand to fill the seat vacated by new Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, infuriating the Dems who had been aggressively lobbying behind the scenes for the patronage peach.

New York Gov. David Paterson will name Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand, an upstate Democrat, to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate, a Democratic official with knowledge of the governor's decision told FOX News on Thursday night. Gillibrand, elected in 2006, represents the state's 20th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is the first Democrat to represent the district since 1978 -- and the first female representative of the district. Paterson is scheduled to formally announce his pick Friday

The golden girl dropped out of the race for Hill's NY junior seat in the U.S. Senate today. Seems she got tired of having to defend her non-record of never having done squat, save being borne of a former president.

It appears the "fix is in" in New York on who will be chosen to replace Sen. Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate. Sources close to New York Governor David Patterson are saying they believe Carolyn Kennedy will be selected to fill the seat. Here is a local news report from New York that the state assembly leader is now supporting Kennedy, which sources say is a result of "arm-twisting" by Gov. Patterson's staff. That would certainly seem to indicate that Patterson will select Kennedy . . . . (See Video)

Her Royal Highness of Hyannis Port, Lady Caroline Kennedy, is demonstrating a valley girl’s grasp of the English language in her miserable little campaign for the not-yet-vacant Senate seat of Hillary Clinton, who is not quite the Secretary of State in the still-to-be inaugurated administration of Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. According to media reports, ” Kennedy can’t finish a single sentence without a ‘You know’ or ‘I mean.’”Kennedy — highly qualified due to her birth and social prestige as the only child of President Kennedy who hasn’t killed herself or her in-laws — has not been battered, unduly, by the...

Any reasoned examination of the handling of this economic downturn by our government would have to lead to some disturbing questions. One of the first that pops to mind is, "Are they doing this on purpose?" That was the thought I had today as I sat in traffic here in NYC and heard on the radio about Governor Patterson's let's-tax-everything-that-moves-and-see-what-happens plan. Almost since the beginning of governments they have over-obligated themselves to their citizens. Generally speaking, leaders promise things that they can't deliver. Why do they do this?

You drink diet soda, so you must be healthier. Right? That's what New York Gov. David Paterson is talking about with his proposal for an "obesity tax" — a 15 percent slap on non-diet sugary soft drinks. Think $1 for a Diet Coke, $1.15 for a Coke. There's just one problem: Studies have found links between drinking diet sodas and obesity and diabetes. A 2005 study at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, and separate studies released in 2007 at the University of Alberta in Canada and the University of Massachusetts found that diet soda drinkers were...

PATERSON WOULD BEAT RUDY: POLL By FREDRIC U. DICKER, State Editor ALBANY - Gov. Paterson's tough talk about slashing state spending in the wake of the Wall Street meltdown is paying off. A poll out yesterday gave him a record-high approval rating -and showed he'd beat former Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a gubernatorial election. The Siena College survey, however, found Paterson would lose a one-on-one contest to Mayor Bloomberg, but such a race would be tighter than previous polls have shown. The new poll found that New York voters, by 62 to 19 percent, have a favorable impression of Paterson,...

Gov. Paterson may be calling legislators back to Albany next month to deal with New York's $2 billion budget gap, but one group already knows it won't be getting its meal ticket clipped. That would be the state teachers union (naturally), which last week struck (yet another) gamy deal with Senate Republicans - saying it plans to endorse the full slate of GOP incumbents just as Majority Leader Dean Skelos vowed to oppose budget cuts that would threaten the interests of teachers. Nice how that works, isn't it? Actually, it was entirely predictable. Skelos, after all, is desperate to cling...

Ten days have passed since Governor Spitzer's resignation, and events seem to be running even further ahead than expected. When David Paterson was sworn in as the 55th governor of New York State, he received an enthusiastic reception from a joint session of the legislature. His speech was considered a success, demonstrating awareness of the state's acute financial crisis but not describing specific reductions. What we did not know was that a few hours later, the new governor and his wife would hold a press conference dealing with mutual marital infidelity for two years at the turn of the century....

Gov. David Paterson admitted to having an affair with a woman who has been on the state payroll and works in the executive branch. While Paterson did not identify her, sources said it is Lila Kirton, Gov. Spitzer’s director of community affairs. Paterson officials would not publicly confirm the woman’s identity. Kirton, 49, of White Plains, Westchester County, joined the executive branch when Spitzer took office in 2007, according to state records. She has worked in state government since 1989, first as a law assistant in New York City Civil Court and later in the state Attorney General’s Office starting...

Here is Orlando in the NY Times: ON first watching Hillary Clinton’s recent “It’s 3 a.m.” advertisement, I was left with an uneasy feeling that something was not quite right — something that went beyond my disappointment that she had decided to go negative. Repeated watching of the ad on YouTube increased my unease. I realized that I had only too often in my study of America’s racial history seen images much like these, and the sentiments to which they allude. ... .. I have spent my life studying the pictures and symbols of racism and slavery, and when I...

WRIGHT PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AFPN) -- Just weeks after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast region, Hurricane Ophelia threatened communities along the East Coast, forcing military bases to act fast. As of Sept. 14, 48 F-15E Strike Eagles, three KC-135 Stratotankers and 180 people had evacuated from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., to here. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., sent four C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and 45 people. Aircraft and people began arriving Sept. 12. "(This base) provides a safe haven for other bases to protect their aircraft," said Col. Peter Oertel, 88th Operations Support...

Anymouse saw and talked to Jerry Patterson walking up the road in Crawford. Born in Houston, Texas on November 15, 1946 Jerry Patterson has devoted his life to public service. He served his country as a U.S. Marine for over twenty years and served as state Senator for six. Recently, he has also served as state relations director for the American Red Cross. As State Senator from District 11, Patterson’s major legislative successes included passage of the historic concealed handgun law, a constitutional amendment allowing home equity lending, the state coastal management plan and the creation of the Texas State...

Two former caretakers for Koko, the famous gorilla who communicates with humans using sign language, say they were continually pressured to show Koko their breasts or face the consequences. Nancy Alperin and Kendra Keller are suing Koko's primary caretaker, Dr. Francine "Penny" Patterson, because she allegedly asked them to "perform bizarre sexual acts with Koko" — namely, taking off their tops — to bond with the five-foot-tall, 280-pound female gorilla. "Patterson would interpret certain hand movements made by Koko as a 'demand' to see exposed human nipples," the suit alleges. "[Patterson] made it known to Keller and Alperin that if...

Ex-trooper sentenced for lying to FBI agent 3 years’ probation, fine ordered in Quitman case A federal judge on Thursday imposed a $1,000 fine and probation for a former Arkansas state trooper who made national news years ago with reports that he had once arranged sexual trysts for former President Clinton while he was governor. Larry Patterson was fined and sentenced to three years’ probation, beginning with three months of home detention, for his negotiated guilty plea last August to one count of making a false statement to a federal agent. Those hoping for a repeat of Clinton's boom by electing Hillary are grasping at straws. DERELICTION OF DUTY Many Americans are blaming President Bush for the tragedy of 911 and Osama bin Laden. In reading the book, "Dereliction of Duty," by Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson USAF (Ret.) Carrier of the "Nuclear football," many parallels can be drawn comparing President Clinton’s past administration, and one Senator John Kerry promises to install if he is elected. As you read the circumstances and warnings, merely adjust the time-table forward and the possibilities become frighteningly obvious. Sandy Berger’s involvement, given his current situation, is also fascinating. The following is a review of some of the most hair-raising and...

It was a great day in Beverly Hills when I finally got there. Stinking L.A. traffic was worse than usual, and a one-hour trip became a two-hour trip. Well, I guess it was okay. In stop and go traffic, it gave the tolerant libs more of an opportunity to flip me off in the DFU rolling campaign mobile. Upon arriving at the hotel, a valet opened my door and then called for the other valets to "check this out." They particularly liked the magnetic sign that had a picture of W on the ranch and Kerry climbing out the the...

In “Clinton and 9/11” (FrontPageMagazine.com, Oct. 14, 2003), I wrote about the allegation by retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Robert “Buzz” Patterson that while he was a military aide to President Bill Clinton in 1996 (carrying the codes for nuclear attack) he saw a Presidential Daily Briefing after it was given to President Clinton that discussed a plot to use commercial airliners as weapons and another plot to put bombs on U.S. airliners. Patterson wrote this allegation on page 139 of his book “Dereliction of Duty”, published in March 2003. The allegation goes to the heart of the recent investigations...

A former Arkansas state trooper who said years ago that he arranged sexual liaisons for former President Clinton while Clinton was governor has pleaded guilty to a felony in an unrelated federal civil-rights case. Larry Patterson, 43, of Quitman, appeared earlier this week before U.S. District Judge George Howard Jr. and pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement to a federal agent, a crime punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. He is to be sentenced Oct. 26 in Howard’s Little Rock courtroom. According to a court document,...

Michigan District 81 State Representative Lauren Hager might be thinking: “I might have committed a felony”, after recent revelations that he violated Michigan State Campaign Finance law. Hager’s handpicked sixteen-month St. Clair County Commissioner Phil Pavlov as his successor, Pavlov might now have second thoughts in what appears to be stepping in more than “termed out” Lauren Hager’s shoes.

PATERSON, N.J. -- The Most Rev. Arthur J. Serratelli, a Newark native with a command of Spanish and a preference for conciliation over confrontation, was named the seventh bishop of Paterson on Tuesday by Pope John Paul II. The pope accepted the resignation of Bishop Frank J. Rodimer, 76, who had passed the Vatican's mandatory retirement age for bishops more than a year ago. Serratelli, an auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Newark, where he served as vicar general, did not announce any sweeping reforms, saying he wants to listen and learn from the diocese's 111 parishes. But at a...

<p>WASHINGTON - It was both an auspicious and ominous way to begin the week: Auspicious because of President George Bush's resolute demand that Saddam Hussein and his sons leave Iraq. Anti-abortion mailing splits Oakland County Republicans The Associated Press 11/3/2003, 2:07 a.m. ET FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Postcards bearing a graphic description of an abortion procedure and diagrams of an abortion in progress are at the center of the latest rift among Oakland County Republicans. Republican Oakland County Commissioner Tom McMillin says he spent $1,000 of his own money to print and send the mailers, which target state Rep. Aldo Vagnozzi, D-Farmington Hills, and state Sen. Deborah Cherry, D-Burton. The cards attack Vagnozzi's and Cherry's stance on the dilation and extraction abortion procedure, known as partial-birth abortion to its...

I just read the book "Dereliction of Duty" by Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson, who served as President Clinton's military aide. In his book, Col. Patterson tells the story of the CIA having Osama bin Laden in its crosshairs and how this opportunity to get rid of him got away because Clinton did not want to be bothered during a golf game. This missed opportunity later gave us the tragedy of 9/11. The book shows in detail just how both Bill and Hillary Clinton hated the military. During the Clinton administration, the military suffered from lack of funding, personnel, and equipment....
