NEW YORK (AP) — PBS says it is immediately halting distribution of Charlie Rose's interview program and CBS News suspended him following The Washington Post's report of eight women who accused the veteran newsman of multiple unwanted sexual advances and inappropriate behavior. The women, three of whom spoke on the record in the deeply-reported story, accused Rose of groping them, walking naked in front of them and relating an erotic dream. Rose told the Post that he was "deeply embarrassed" and apologized for his behavior. Rose's PBS show features his in-depth interviews with newsmakers....

PBS is editing out Senator Al Franken’s appearance from tomorrow’s taped broadcast of the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize ceremony honoring David Letterman. The decision comes after the former Saturday Night Live writer and performer was accused of sexual harassment.

Nancy Zieman, who founded Nancy’s Notions in Beaver Dam and became a nationally known figure in the sewing community, has died from cancer. Zieman, 64, was an educator, author, pattern maker, television producer, entrepreneur and innovator who is probably best known for her public television show “Sewing With Nancy.” She hosted the program since 1982 and announced earlier this year that she would no longer be producing the show due to her ongoing illness. Tacony Corp. purchased Nancy’s Notions in 2003, but Zieman remained involved as a spokeswoman and educator.

Monday's PBS NewsHour spotlighted the low trust in the news media, according to the results of their latest poll. Only 30 percent of those surveyed by NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist trust the press "a good deal" or "a great amount." The Trump administration scored seven points better in the same poll.
