The infamous t-shirt article: Miss Obama's peacenik T-shirt sends a message to G8 leaders

Her father had just won agreement from the Russians to cut back on the world's stockpiles of nuclear weapons. And Barack Obama's eldest daughter was obviously keen to make her own statement on the issue - even if it was merely a fashion statement. Just 48 hours after the U.S. President signed agreements with Russian president Dmitry Medvedev to reduce weapon stores, 11-year-old Malia Obama was spotted wearing not one, but two T-shirts with an anti-nuclear message. She wore the tops emblazoned with the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament's famous logo as her father prepared for three days of G8 talks...

There have been a number of peace vigils that have dropped out or cut back given the tremendous progress in Iraq and now that Obama is Messiah. I've seen a few articles on ones that have stopped or cut back. Please advise where, when and how long for the event you report. Who sponsored it and any links or contact info you may have. Thanks.

After six years, peace vigil ends (Leftist Hypocisy revealed)

BENICIA - About 40 anti-war protesters held what they said would be their final rally Thursday, six years after the United States-led invasion began against Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Patricia Kneisler, who has led the Benicia Peace Vigil for five of the last six years of the conflict, said the weekly demonstrations on First Street and Military began to subside after President Barack Obama's election in November. "People are really conflicted now," Kneisler said, explaining how many of the demonstrators felt they should not be protesting the war while Obama established his administration. The Benicia Peace Vigil was begun by a...

Protesters march to Pentagon, call to end Iraq war (Obama lets them down)

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hundreds of war protesters from across the country gathered in Washington on Saturday to mark the sixth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. Organizers from the ANSWER Coalition said more than 1,000 groups sponsored the protest to call for an end to the Iraq war. Holding signs that read "We need jobs and schools, not war" and "Stop the war!" they rallied around noon across the street from the Lincoln Memorial and by 1:30 p.m., were beginning to march across the Memorial Bridge to the Pentagon.

Democrats dismayed by Barack Obama's decision to leave 50,000 US troops in Iraq

President Obama announced the withdrawal yesterday of more than 90,000 US combat troops from Iraq by August next year but his decision to keep a force of up to 50,000 was attacked by leaders of his party as a betrayal of his promise to end the war. Mr Obama's drawdown plan was even embraced by Republicans — including John McCain, his election opponent last year — but was criticised by anti-war liberals. It was the latest of several moves by the President that have disappointed the Left, who had convinced themselves that he would end the US presence in Iraq...

Anti-War Activists Disappointed With Obama's Iraq Withdrawal Plan

What Candidate Obama promised and President Obama delivered has many of his most ardent supporters on the left -- from members of Congress down to grassroots anti-war activists -- wondering whether he can be counted on to advance the liberal agenda. The president, speaking to Marines in Camp Lejeune, N.C, on Friday, announced that the U.S. will end the Iraq war over the next 18 months, ordering the immediate drawdown of the 142,000 troops in Iraq. The war will officially end on Aug. 31, 2010. But Obama's withdrawal plan will take three months longer than he promised on the campaign...

As I was snooping around the internet that Gore made, I ran across a web site that was practicing Fear Mongering. As has become common practice, I took a screen shot for future reference. As is the “norm” for the Leftinistra, posts such as this one vanish which then, any criticism of any particular issue can be seen as “hate speech”. Thus the screen shot. This plea for help for a faltering endeavor cannot be denied. Why are they pleading for help? If they have the heartbeat of America, shouldn’t they be rolling in cash?
Thousands call for Mid-East peace (UK peace rally)

housands of pro-Israel supporters have gathered in London's Trafalgar Square to call for an end to the violence in the Middle East. Organisers said they wanted people in Gaza and Israel to live in peace, but argued that Palestinians must accept some responsibility for the conflict. Demonstrators told the BBC they felt the rocket hits and losses Israel had suffered had been downplayed. Chief Rabbi Dr Sir Jonathan Sacks said he wanted Hamas to "say yes to peace". About 850 Gazans and 13 Israelis have reportedly died in 16 days of fighting. ...
Protest at the New School Turns Unruly (Antiwar kids chase former Sen. Bob Kerrey thru NYC streets)

Protests at The New School, where a student uprising over the leadership of the university’s president, Bob Kerrey, led to clashes with the police and at least one arrest on Thursday morning, took another wild turn later on Thursday evening. A little after 11:30 p.m., Mr. Kerrey emerged from a university building on Fifth Avenue south of 14th Street to a sea of a few hundred protesters chanting for his resignation. As Mr. Kerrey walked down Fifth Avenue toward 12th Street, about 30 protesters began following him, some of them shouting insults. As the crowd’s pace quickened, so did Mr....

Supporting our Troops, Boston Globe Style!

Supporting our troops By Steve Almond September 18, 2008 PERHAPS the most insidious byproduct of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, has been a reflexive sanctification of the military. To put this in bumper stickerese: Support the Troops. Well, I have an ugly confession to make: I don't support the troops - at least not unconditionally. When somebody tells me they serve in the military, my first impulse isn't to say, "Thank you for your service!" like those insufferable chickenhawks on talk radio.
Charles Gibson's Palin Double Standard

The McCain campaign went looking for a major anchor to be awarded the blessing and the curse of the first Sarah Palin interview -- a blessing for ratings and a curse from all the competitors who would accuse the winners of being soft on Republicans. At CBS, Katie Couric had wallowed in fan-club-president questions to Hillary Clinton about her "pure stamina," so she couldn't be first. NBC's Brian Williams kept asking Barack Obama those hardballs about how his late mother would swoon over the latest glowingly positive "news" magazine cover. How hard was it to pick Charlie Gibson on ABC?...

There was a large anti abortion group. Every one of the Pro - McCain supporters agreed that the border needs to be secured. Law Enforcement was great, horse patrol was there. A Few of the LA Answer Peace advocates had to be detained for pushing and shoving. Mc Cain was much more on point than Obama, who seemed to be vague and rambling.

Patriots vs. Peaceniks - West Chester, PA - Sat 7/19

Just wanted to point out the dueling rallies at High & Market streets, West Chester, PA. On one side of the street, patriots thanking the troops and supporting our president. On the other side, peaceniks (mostly wrinkled hippies), crying about the Iraq war. Motorist support seemed to be decidedly in favor of the pro-america rally, but not exclusively. Complicating matters were the kids running in and out of stop and go traffic to collect money for a basketball team while their idiot parents condoned the behavior.
