  • Why People Zone Out on Hillary: She's a real nowhere woman, trying to replace a nowhere man.

Hillary Clinton — the woman assumed to be the next Democratic Party presidential nominee and quite possibly the next president — is evidently a big snooze. According to Mediate [1], her interviews to promote her book on CNN and Fox had underwhelming numbers. In the case of Greta Van Susteren’s show, she sent people fleeing midway. More importantly, her book itself is a sales disappointment and, I would wager, even more disappointing if you could ascertain how many who did buy it read actually past page 15. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was in single digits. No, I haven’t...

As she launches her book tour to rebrand her image, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is becoming less liked by Americans. According to a Gallup survey, only 54 percent of Americans now view Clinton favorably, which is her lowest rating since 2008. She had a 59 percent favorability rating before her book tour. Clinton, a potential 2016 presidential contender, is less liked when she enters the political arena, and her book tour is being run like a campaign. Clinton has already made plenty of blunders during her book launch, like claiming that she was "dead broke" after she and...

Former Clinton aide Kiki McLean defended Hillary Clinton's claim that she was "dead broke" and "struggled" after leaving the White House by saying that the Clintons "have a life and a set of expectations that are different" from middle class Americans. McLean made the comments on CNN:(VIDEO-AT-LINK)"I suppose when you heard that comment you knew full well that that was going to be fodder for the Republicans," the CNN host said today referring to the comments Clinton made in an interview that aired last night. • Madam Secretary Made a Difference (Lickspittle Alert)

When politicians have trouble spinning their own glories, thats a problem. So it was bizarre that Hillary Rodham Clinton, asked at a forum in April about her legacy at the State Department, had trouble articulating it. That feeds into a narrative awaiting her memoir on Tuesday that she may have been glamorous as secretary of state but didnt actually accomplish much. In fact, thats dead wrong, for Clinton achieved a great deal and left a hefty legacy just not the traditional kind.... No, her legacy is different. For starters, Clinton recognized that our future.... More fundamentally, Clinton...

Hillary Clinton touted the economic growth seen during the last two Democratic presidencies during a speech before the New America Foundation on Friday, and she warned that the U.S. risks falling behind global competitors if policymakers do not do more to revive the middle class by generating broad-based economic growth. Clinton, a former secretary of state who's eyeing a presidential bid in 2016, praised both President Obama and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, for their economic stewardship. History shows that Ms. Lewinsky was treated horribly by the White House: When her relationship with the president first blared across the headlines, the White House began a full-court press strategy to destroy her: White House operatives portrayed her as a deranged stalker to any reporter willing to listen, said the former California congressman. "They're all going to see Hillary Clinton," she said, sizing up the room.. "Everywhere you look, it's the same demographic." We are writing to clearly state the ACLUs position on whether or not the Department of Justice (DOJ) should consider bring ing federal civil rights or hate crimes charges as a result of the state court acquittal in the George Zimmerman case. Even though the Supreme Court permits a federal prosecution following a state prosecutio n, the ACLU believes the Double Jeopardy Clause of the Constitution protects someone from being prosecuted in another court for charges arising from the same transaction. A jury found Zimmerman not guilty, and that should be the end of the criminal case.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has no plans to resign following disclosures to the Senate Intelligence Committee that he misled Congress on widespread National Security Agency electronic surveillance of Americans. DNI Clapper explained his response in the letter to Chairman [Dianne] Feinstein [(D., Calif.)] and apologized for the misunderstanding, said Michael Birmingham, spokesperson for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Clapper values the decades-long stellar relationship he has with Congress and remains focused on leading the intelligence community, Birmingham told the Free Beacon in a statement Monday.

There is a problem with President Barack Obamas long-form birth certificate: Its a forgery, say multiple forensic experts who have examined it. A report detailing the evidence will soon be presented to Congress. On April 27, 2011 the White House released Mr. Obamas long-form birth certificate in an attempt to quell a public firestorm over the validity of the shorter version he provided prior to his 2008 election. A group of concerned citizens in Arizona suspected the Certificate of Live Birth produced in 2011 by the administration was fabricated; they asked Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County to investigate. Sybrina Fulton, mother of Trayvon Martin and his older brother took the stand today to tell jurors in the George Zimmerman trial that the voice screaming for help on the 911 calls was that of the slain Florida teenager. "That scream, do you recognize that?" prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda asked Martin's mother. "Yes, it's Trayvon Benjamin Martin," she answered. Zimmerman, 29, faces second degree murder charges for Martin's death. He maintains he shot the unarmed teenager in self-defense after he was confronted and attacked by Martin, 17, on Feb. 26, 2012. Prosecutors allege the former neighborhood watch captain profiled,...

  • DNI chief Clapper apologizes for clearly erroneous answer to Congress on NSA data collection

WASHINGTON National Intelligence Director James Clapper is apologizing for telling Congress earlier this year that the National Security Agency does not collect data on millions of Americans. In a letter to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, Clapper says his answer was clearly erroneous. Leaks by NSA systems analyst Edward Snowden have revealed the NSAs sweeping data collection of U.S. phone records and some Internet traffic every day, though U.S. intelligence officials have said the programs are aimed at targeting foreigners and terrorist suspects overseas. Clapper was asked in March if the NSA gathered any type of data at...

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has apologized for a clearly erroneous statement he made to Congress over the National Security Agencys surveillance activity. In a letter to Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released publicly on Tuesday, Clapper said he was mistaken when he told Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) that the United States did not collect data on millions of Americans. My response was clearly erroneous for which I apologize, Clapper wrote in the letter dated June 21. While my staff acknowledged the error to Senator Wydens staff soon after the hearing, I can now openly correct...

Posted on CiR in March, this piece offers a little background on the VRA and instructions which AG Eric Holder gave DOJ employeesinstructions designed to deceive Supreme Court justices as they considered the Act and the Shelby County case. Legal experts say Republicans don't have much of a chance at making perjury charges stick to Attorney General Eric Holder. Perjury is a very tough charge to prove because you have to show that the statement he made was a false statement, and he knew it was false, said Laurie Levenson, a former federal prosecutor and current professor at the Loyola Law School. In a perjury case, the nuance makes the difference between guilty and innocent. House Judiciary Republicans are investigating whether the nations top cop lied under oath when he told the panel that he has never been involved...
