A Cleveland-area woman who found a couple of ghostly figures in a photo taken with her cell phone said she's not freaked out about it. "To me, it was awesome," said Marcella Davis. "It's not scary to me." David took the photo about 4 p.m. April 15 at Cleveland High School, where she was trying to get a shot of her nephew, who attends the school. "He spun around so I couldn't take his picture, so I got the back of his head," she said. "I didn't try to take no more because he didn't let me." Davis, the mother...

Hospital Denies Involvement In Leak Of Grisly Post-Mortem Photo Of Boston Marathon Bomb Suspect A grisly post-mortem photo of one of the suspected Boston Marathon bombers appears to have been taken early today after medical personnel turned the body over to law enforcement officials. The image of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, began circulating online this afternoon after it was posted on popular web sites like Reddit and 4chan. The source of the photo remains unclear.

His mouth is agape. His face is awash in blood. On his right side is a wide gash where doctors cut him open to try to start his heart and save his life. The image of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, dead and naked on a slab, snapped by an unknown person, was emailed repeatedly by law enforcement officers Friday morning. “Suspect 1” was written above the gruesome picture. Seeing a photo of one of the Marathon bombing suspects dead was cathartic, said one law enforcement official who saw the picture.

A facebook photo of a man sitting at a dinner, with a holstered pistol that appears to be a Glock in a Serpa holster, is getting quite a bit of attention. The question is asked "If you were in a public place, would you feel comfortable with this sitting 10 feet away from your children?" The comments are overwhelmingly positive, ranging from "My children and grandchildren are very knowledgeable about weapons. They would be discussing velocity, and range with the man." to "I bet that place won't get rob while he's there. Yea I would feel safe." There are a...

I got out with my son in law, got coffee and just rode around. Grandson is at National Guard annual training through this month so it's quiet around here. Even when he is asleep there is a subliminal rumble present LOL, and you miss it when he goes out the door. The ponds were all quiet today, nothing but sunning Red-eared Sliders, Trachemys s. elegant. Believe it or not these are the same turtles they used to sell in dime stores, with the little tank and a plastic palm tree. Last week they were just peeking out of the water, today...

Doctors appointment today so I made it into town. The tide was low so most of the waders were on the saltwater flats. This is the big freshwater pond near Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine. These Mallard ducklets are pretty independent, momma was around but not really herding them. The White Ibis is one of last year's chicks, the white plumage is coming on strong. The Double Crested Cormorants feed in this pond but they were napping this morning. The flower is a Tradescantia, or Spiderwort.

The Twitter account @BarackObama tonight retweeted Yoko Ono’s picture of John Lennon”s bloody glasses from the day he was murdered. The arresting photo, which includes text that more than a million people have been killed by guns since Lennon was shot in 1980, has been retweeted more than 11,000 times since it was posted Wednesday. A retweet by the account associated with President Obama forwarded it to his more than 28 million followers. Retweets aren’t always endorsements in Twitter etiquette, but Ono’s activism comes at a time when President Obama and Democrats’ push for more gun control after the Sandy...

Millions of poignant black-and-white photos have come out of the World War Two era, but it is not often that scenes from the deadliest conflict in human history can be seen in living color. In 1942, LIFE Magazine sent Margaret Bourke-White, one of its four original staff photographers and the first female photojournalist accredited to cover WWII, to take pictures of the VIII Bomber Command, commonly known as the Eighth Air Force or The Mighty 8th. The photographs, executed in brilliant hues that make them look almost like oil paintings, put on full display the massive American B-24s and B-17s...

Hugo Chavez is either dead, or on life support, but the world will remain in the dark for weeks to come. While the above photograph has probably been Photoshopped it has been making its rounds on the internet for the last few weeks. Until we hear from el Comandante himself the rumors will not be silenced, irregardless of what Venezuelan officials would lead us to believe. Government officials are attempting to prepare the country for Chavez to govern from life support, or beyond the grave. In this attempt they may succeed – for a while. Preventing civil war is a...

CARACAS—The Venezuelan government Friday released the first images of ailing President Hugo Chávez since his departure more than two months ago to Cuba to resume his battle with cancer. The photos show the smiling president in a blue and white track suit, lying down and flanked by two of his daughters. In one image, he is holding a copy of the Cuba state newspaper Granma, which Venezuelan officials said was the Feb. 14 edition of the publication, apparently to prove that the photos were taken recently. The 58-year-old leader, who announced his battle with cancer in June 2011, appeared to...

After a mini-controversy about a claim from President Obama that he shoots clay pigeons at Camp David, the White House released a photo of “Obama” shooting a $2500 Browning Citori shotgun. Problem: It doesn’t look like the President’s watch. And that leaves aside why the President is shooting a fancy Japanese-made gun instead of a down-to-earth Mossberg or Remington.

This morning, the White House released a photo of President Obama shooting a gun: http://www.weeklystandard.com/sites/all/files/images/8436110735_5ec05750a2_b.preview.jpg "President Barack Obama shoots clay targets on the range at Camp David, Md., Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012. The White House has refused repeated attempts by journalists to produce pictures of President Obama and his team in the White House Situation Room during the 9-11 Benghazi terrorist attacks [3:30pm to 11:00pm Eastern Time]. Personally, after researching the offical reports minute by minute, and comparing them to the media released statements, I believe the Situation Room was empty. Today the White House released this picture taken on 9-11-12. It was included in a White House FLICKR Album “The Year In Pictures“. You Decide:

Grey and gloomy day, chilly wind driving intermittent drizzle. The tide is way up driven by the wind. The sea and marsh birds tend to hunker down on days like this and sheltered fresh water ponds are favorite places for them.Storks, Roseate Spoonbills, White Ibis, Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets, Little Blue Herons and Tri Color Herons were in clusters in this pond. The Osprey was just chilling out.

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – A Detroit judge has agreed to a reprimand for sending a shirtless photo of himself to a courthouse employee and telling a reporter, “No shame in my game.” Wayne County Circuit Judge Wade McCree agreed to the punishment in an order released Wednesday by the Michigan Supreme Court. The court says it’s accepting the recommendation of a watchdog agency and ordering a public censure. The justices agreed with the Judicial Tenure Commission that McCree “brought shame … to the judiciary” with his April comments to WJBK-TV reporter Charlie LeDuff.

Black pastor uses lynching photo to help get out the voteBy Andrew Mach, NBC News 6 days ago A pastor in Indiana has put up a sign that uses a historical image of the 1930 lynching of two black teenagers in an effort to recharge the black vote. **SNIP** “I don’t think it is as harsh as the fact that when we talk about African-Americans being murdered and killed at an alarming rate,” Thornton said. “It’s not as harsh as the fact we make up about 12 percent of the population and about 90 percent of the incarceration. It is...

The Democratic National Convention’s final night included a stirring tribute to America’s veterans from a retired naval four-star admiral, complete with a backdrop of jets flying over a row of proud warships. But convention organizers may soon regret it. Norman Polmar, author of “The Naval Institute Guide to the Soviet Navy” and other military handbooks, told the Navy Times on Tuesday that the ships were Russian vessels. “The ships are definitely Russian,” Polmar told the military newspaper. “There’s no question of that in my mind.” The ships depicted in the Democrats’ backdrop had radar designs that the U.S. fleet doesn’t...

(CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration’s new ambassador to Azerbaijan raised eyebrows this week with a gesture interpreted by some as paying homage to the country’s late dictator – a one-time KGB general installed by military coup who oversaw an autocratic regime before handing power to his son. “The new U.S. envoy to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar, has honored memory of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev,” the Azeri news site News.Az reported. “The newly appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the United States in Azerbaijan visited the monument to great leader in the park in front of the Heydar Aliyev’s Palace....

From a retention pond on the Flagler Hospital campus, St. Augustine Florida. The little Cypress trees were full of Roseate Spoonbills and Common Moorhens were all over the place. As first dates go, Rita Petry thought this one was pretty great: a beautiful summer afternoon in the city, a matinee at Radio City Music Hall, drinks after, followed by a passionate, soon-to-be-iconic kiss. Well, maybe not the kiss: Her handsome young suitor, it turns out, planted that on another woman. Such is the incredible story behind one of the most romantic and enduring photos of the 20th century — and one of our most compelling mysteries. Since Aug. 14, 1945, the identities of the smooching sailor and the nurse in Alfred Eisenstaedt’s Times Square V-J Day photograph have never...

Photographer Stefan Koppelkamm first photographed East Germany in 1990 after the fall of the Berlin Wall but before the reunification. SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — WFTV just learned Friday morning about a picture of gunman George Zimmerman, taken just three minutes after the shooting that left 17-year-old Trayvon Martin dead. The picture reportedly shows cuts on the back of Zimmerman's head, with blood trickling down. Zimmerman, who shot and killed 17-year-old Martin on February 26 in a gated Sanford community, claimed he killed Martin in self-defense. Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for the shooting death of Martin. The picture would seem to back up Zimmerman's claim that Martin slammed his head against the sidewalk. That picture could be part of...

“Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” is often cited as being the most reproduced photograph in history. It is also probably the most parodied image in the world. The “Iwo Jima pose” has become a popular symbol for organizations or movements wishing to convey victory, teamwork, or patriotism. The use of the image has ranged from respectful homage to what some consider offensive misappropriation

National Enquirer posts Whitney Houston open casket Not that it’s all that shocking, when you think about it, as the shot is reminiscent of the Enquirer front page featuring Elvis Presley’s open casket photo after The King died in 1977. Did The Enquirer go too far, is this par for the course with today’s tabloid journalism, or both?
