WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House has released a photo of President Barack Obama firing a gun, two days before he heads to Minnesota to discuss gun control. In a recent interview with The New Republic magazine, Obama said "yes" when asked if he has ever fired a gun. He said "we do skeet shooting all the time," except for his daughters, at Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland.

Note by Kristinn: AFP/ Getty Images took the photo so it can't be posted here. Click the source link to view the photo of a bald (skinhead) man at a Romney-Ryan rally in Lancaster, Ohio today. The man is wearing a black t-shirt with large white all-capitalized letters emblazoned on the back that says, "Put the white back in the White House."To make sure, the man placed a Romney-Ryan sticker at the top of the back of the t-shirt. By coincidence, a wire service photographer just happened to be in a position to take his picture.Media photographers will usually ask...

News editors at Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency have been caught using a Photoshopped image to depict the country’s missile program. How do we know? For starters, it’s pretty unlikely Jar Jar Binks has suddenly taken up residence in Tehran. The Atlantic Wire spotted something amiss in the photo for a news item about the country’s missile program Friday. A little Internet digging turned up the image, which first appeared on the Internet in 2008 after Iran was caught digitally tampering with an image of its missile tests. During that time, a number of clever news watchers produced a series...

You have to admit, the First Lady does keep a good house. But the editors of Good Housekeeping seem to think she could could have a better face. The May issue of the mag is a Special Collector's Issue, and not just because it's full of "home makeovers." No, you'll definitely want to hold on to this one, because Michelle's got a makeover too! The entire bottom half of Michelle's face seems to have been replaced, her forehead has been nicely tightened, and the entire right (our left) side of her face seems to have scored some extreme chiseling. A...

First problem: there's still a magazine called Good Housekeeping. Magazines and newspapers are dying left and right, the whole publishing industry is imploding, yet Good Housekeeping lives on? It survives not only to give women crucial tips on vacuuming, ironing, or what Febreeze actually is, but to produce a commemorative "125th Anniversary Collector's Issue" graced with the creepiest cover photo of Michelle Obama I've ever seen. This from Jezebel's Jessica Coen: The entire bottom half of Michelle's face seems to have been replaced, her forehead has been nicely tightened, and the entire right (our left) side of her face seems...

Mrs. Obama shares a few of the First Family's favorite Washington spots: · The Newseum, D.C.'s most interactive museum: "High recommendations (from the kids). They love the Newseum." · Monticello: "It is just incredibly beautiful, and that beautiful garden that he planted that is three times the size of anything that you'd ever do. It brings it to life, not just for my kids but for me." · Luray Caverns: "Yes! We saw the egg. Barack was very jealous -- he's a Tour Guy." · Blue Duck Tavern: The Obama's celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary at chef Brian McBride's cozy...

We asked readers to dream up doctored landscapes for the President's Air Force One – and wow, did they ever deliver! On Monday, the Presidential jet and an F-16 fighter plane buzzed over lower Manhattan for a photo-op of the First Plane with New York City landmarks. The stunt sparked fears of terror attacks and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. We suggested the White House staffers could've gotten better results – for a lot less money – from the comforts of their own D.C. offices using a program like Photoshop. And YOU proved us right. Read more: "We asked...

Features - June 2, 2008 Digital Forensics: 5 Ways to Spot a Fake Photo By Hany Farid This story is a supplement to the feature "Digital Forensics: How Experts Uncover Doctored Images" which was printed in the June 2008 issue of Scientific American. Lighting Composite images made of pieces from different photographs can display subtle differences in the lighting conditions under which each person or object was originally photographed. Such discrepancies will often go unnoticed by the naked eye. For an image such as the one at the right, my group can estimate the direction of the light source for...

How the Dems Support the Troops Remember that photo at the top of The Democratic Party’s page, of a crowd of people cheering and pumping their fists? The theme is that only the Democrats really support the troops, and this is the page where they previously featured a faked image of a Canadian soldier. Well, the irony doesn’t stop there, because that crowd photo doesn’t even show a real group of people genuinely supporting the US military. It’s another stock image. (Hat tip: Raymond.) Note the keywords. Several other bloggers have remarked that the crowd picture seemed oddly out...

(October 9, 2006) -- A North Korean soldier tells the world what he and the DPRK think after their announcement of a nuclear test, ignoring world opinion. Quisling South Korean President, Roh Mu Hyon, a long-time Clintonista-type appeaser with his failed Sunshine Policy towards North Korea, joins in the fun.
