A Tale of Two Gazas: Website Pictures Deny ‘Humanitarian Crisis’

(IsraelNN.com) The Arabic-language PalToday website, based in Gaza, recently posted pictures showing a world of plenty for residents, despite more than two years of reports that the area is suffering from a humanitarian crisis. However, its English website for foreign audiences showed a picture of misery, focusing on a girl who wanted her terrorist father freed by Israel. The pictures on the Arabic-language site were posted for the Eid al Adha Muslim festival, which recalls the forefather Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son, who the Bible states was Isaac. The Muslim tradition substitutes him with Ishmael.

For most of the past week, when someone typed "Michelle Obama" in the popular search engine Google, one of the first images that came up was a picture of the American first lady altered to resemble a monkey. On Wednesday morning, the racially offensive image appeared to have been removed from any Google Image searches for "Michelle Obama." Google officials could not immediately be reached for comment. Google faced a firestorm of criticism over the episode. First, it banned the Web site that posted the photo, saying it could spread a malware virus. Then, when the image appeared on another...

The only blind cave fish known in Australia, the 2-inch-long (5.1-centimeter-long) species is "remarkably versatile," living in freshwater or seawater in underground coastal regions during various stages of its life, researchers say."

I came up with a new T-shirt for everyone but I can't find any great pictures. It feels like the media is trying to put pictures of ambassador asshole Joe Wilson and not pictures of the biggest story of the month. I expect that but just not this bad. Do you guys have any pictures of him that are hard to get that look great? Thanks, Jim Hines

Mrs Ethelston's Church of England Primary School, in Uplyme, Devon, prohibited photos and video filming, claiming it was due to changes in child protection and images legislation. It is the first time the school has taken such measures.Parents criticised the move and said they felt there was no legal reason why they cannot take photos for personal use. Jane Souter, who has a son at the school and is chair of the Parents Teachers and Friends Association, said: "It is a shame but that is the way it is all going now, you are not allowed to do a lot...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to be a tool of the ACLU left as she is working hard to get rid of the McCain/Graham amendment to the war spending bill which will bar the release of photographs showing alleged U.S. abuses of terrorists. Pelosi told MSNBC’s Ed Schultz on Wednesday, “I don’t think Congress should make an exception to FOIA" (freedom of information act). Of course Pelosi is reversing her earlier stance in which she said she would “support” the Obama administration’s push to keep the photos secret.
Polaroid lovers try to revive its instant film

ENSCHEDE, Netherlands — In this small town just across the border from Germany, a small group of Dutch scientists and one irrepressible Austrian salesman have dedicated themselves to the task of reinventing one of the great inventions of the 20th century — Polaroid’s instant film. Digital cameras are ubiquitous, cheap and easy to use — the reasons Polaroid stopped making the film last year — so what this group in Enschede is attempting may seem hopelessly retrograde. But to them, that is exactly the point. They want to recast an outdated production process in an abandoned Polaroid factory for an...
