Robert Ménard, mayor of the town of Beziers in southern France, has been fined 2,000 euros for "hate speech." The "hate speech" consisted of his observation that in a school in the center of his town more than 90% of the students are Muslim. Judge Maurice Cador called Ménard's remarks "extraordinarily insensitive toward Muslims. His defense relied upon the assertion that he spoke the truth. Under our laws truth is not a valid defense. We concede that his statement was factually accurate. However, it is the government's policy to not call attention to the rising proportion of resident aliens in...

The Senior National Co-ordinator for Counter Terrorism has confirmed that police are now making terror-related arrests “on a near daily basis”. Meanwhile, a noted security expert has estimated the number of “committed Islamists” in the country is “between 6,000 and 10,000”. Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu revealed the astonishing scale of the struggle to contain terrorism in a statement outside New Scotland Yard on Friday. “I wanted to reassure the public that our increased activity to combat terrorism over the last two years continues,” he said. The statement came following an “extraordinary day” in which police apprehended a...

It has been 10 long years since Congress passed legislation to raise the minimum wage. It’s time to raise it for all Americans.IN the wealthiest country in the history of the world, a basic principle of American economic life should be that if you work 40 hours or more a week, you do not live in poverty. Sadly, that is not the case today. While large corporations make record-breaking profits and top CEOs earn about 335 times more an hour than the average worker, millions of Americans are trying to survive on totally inadequate wages. The situation has become so...

Last year, Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California refused to remove the uterus of Evan Michael Minton. Minton is in the process of transitioning from female to a simulated male body. This Catholic hospital declined to remove a healthy uterus and referred Minton to a nearby nonreligious hospital within the same Dignity Health network. American Civil Liberties Union spokesman Bertram Petty claimed that “the hospital violated Mr. Minton’s right to have whatever surgery he wants at whatever facility he chooses. The hospital’s assertion that the surgery goes against its sincerely held religious beliefs is irrelevant. Under Obamacare, the...

The shutdown showdown seems like a wild train ride and the political aftermath is only just picking up steam. I think it is important to be clear about what the faithful few are actually fighting for (and against) during the shutdown showdown. Let me reset the framework in the simplest possible terms, so that we don’t forget the essentials. Our federal government, created by the States in 1787, was designed to be a limited and defined federal government. Not my words, but the words of the people who created it - easily researchable and verifiable. James Madison (called the Father...

Late in 2012, the ATF approved of a device that fit on the buffer tube of AR-15 style pistols. It made one handed shooting of these firearms much easier, and hence more accurate. The SB15 was invented by a disabled veteran, Alex Bosco. He quickly sold the rights to produce the arm brace to Sig Sauer. As you can see, the device can also be used as a very short stock for the AR-15 pistol, even though that is not what it is designed for. Many people have put the brace to this use, as it is much easier to...

After the ending of Apartheid, South Africa looked set to become the driving force of the African continent. It had the developed world’s support behind it, popular support from almost everyone, and yet it has sunk to the very bottom of the world’s equality rankings (in terms of economic disparity). And it’s not only economically that South Africa is struggling. Political corruption is rife, violence is high, and the threat of insurrection is never far away. When the charismatic Mandela came to power as the head of the African National Congress (ANC, the present ruling party), many in the Western...

Given that every fake reporter, talking head and fake news anchor in the nation’s Fake News Media is busy today handing out grades to President Donald Trump on his first 100 days in office, I thought it would be appropriate for someone to grade the Fake News Media on its own performance during that same 100 days. So I went back through my daily Campaign Update files, starting on Inauguration Day and taking it all the way up through Friday, and excerpted every #Fakenew item that has appeared in those 100 Updates. This is very long – more than 12,000...

Surprise! One hundred days in and the MSM has declared Trump’s first quarter a complete disaster. This is my shocked face, Rick.Although to be fair, they did that before he was even inaugurated. I leave it to others to provide the 100 Days of Trump analysis – Charlie Martin’s is quite good especially given that he was not Trump’s #1 fan in the beginning, having tweeted just before the election “My worst fears are being realized: One of them is going to win.” And the Gateway Pundit claims to have the complete list of accomplishments. As far as I’m concerned if...

Taxpayers are scrambling to get their taxes done, and sadly watching too much of their hard-earned cash being sucked by the behemoth that is the federal government. While trying to make ends meet for their families and searching around for every last deduction, many taxpayers may be shocked to find two things: That Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion vendor, is still getting more than $500 million of government funds every year, even though they have been referred for criminal activity by committees in both the U.S. House and Senate; and, that abortion is tax-deductible. Taking the abortion tax deduction...

Stung by critics who say that former President Barack Obama is showing inordinate greed by accepting fat payments from Wall Street for brief speeches, former Presidential Press Secretary Josh Earnest argued that "one of the President's greatest regrets during his time in office was his inability to establish a public program of reparations for America's historic mistreatment of racial minorities. Rather than just shrug off his disappointment he has decided to individually extract payments to compensate for those injustices." "We mustn't overlook the fact that the $400,000 per speech fees are being paid by white men to a black man,"...

President Donald Trump on Friday proclaimed May 1 as 'Loyalty Day' as a way to "recognize and reaffirm our allegiance to the principles" upon which America was built and express pride in those ideals, according to a release of the proclamation from the White House. “The United States stands as the world's leader in upholding the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice. Together, and with these fundamental concepts enshrined in our Constitution, our Nation perseveres in the face of those who would seek to harm it," the proclamation reads. "We humbly thank our brave service members and veterans who have...

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is preparing to ease school lunch regulations created under former President Barack Obama. On Friday, the department announced its secretary, former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, will introduce an interim rule to provide "regulatory flexibility" for the National School Lunch Program at a Virginia elementary school on Monday, alongside Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. It's unclear how the regulations will be changed, or what effect it could have on school lunchrooms. The National School Lunch Program provides nutritionally balanced reduced-cost or free lunches to children. Former First Lady...

A newly-released arrest report details the circumstances that surround a burglary suspect following multiple small fires at Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 28-year-old Roger Fraley in connection with the fires, which were reported Wednesday evening at the hotel. According to Clark County Fire Department Arson Investigators, the suspect, identified as Fraley, placed paper products and towels inside two toasters in an apparent attempt to start a fire in the women's bathroom on the pool deck.....

If our MPs are unable to grasp the simple concepts explained below, rightly discerning what really are facts and fiction Bill C-16 is intended to add the terms “gender identity” and “gender expression” to the Canadian Human Rights Act. The Bill also “amends the Criminal Code to extend the protection against hate propaganda set out in that Act to any section of the public that is distinguished by gender identity or expression,” leading many to believe it will lead to a severe restriction of open public discourse on this topic once the bill is passed. Forty Conservative members of parliament...

“We are sending an armada.” Pres. Donald J. Trump’s declaration during a television interview on the Fox Business Channel signaled the deployment of Carrier Strike Group One to the Korean Peninsula in response to North Korea’s bellicose rhetoric and upcoming missile test. The Navy canceled a series of port calls for the strike group earlier this month and diverted the ships to the Korean Peninsula in a show of force against the hermit kingdom. But what’s in the armada?

They had it so good. In 1995 Disney bought Capital Cities/ ABC Inc. for $19 billion. Along with ABC, Disney acquired the Lifetime and A&E cable channels and something called ESPN, "The Worldwide Leader in Sports." ESPN was a cash cow for Disney. Dannel Malloy and the state of Connecticut, eager to hand out money to wildly profitable businesses, made ESPN one of its "First Five."In support of ESPN’s capital investment and the commitment to retain and create full-time jobs in Connecticut, the state will provide: - A 10-year, $17.5 million loan from the Department of Economic and Community Development...

SEATTLE, WA - A group of conservative, pro-Donald Trump activists will gather in Seattle on May Day as a counterpoint to planned leftist demonstrations, and the group is preparing for possible confrontations. As Seattle gears up for May Day - which typically brings large, sometimes violent, protests to the city - police say there is a potential this year for "crowd on crowd" conflict. The organizer of the pro-Trump rally says that some members of his group will be armed with guns, but he is asking everyone to remain nonviolent. About 50 members of the Vancouver, Wash., group Patriot Prayer...

President Donald Trump's widespread support among white evangelicals is holding steady as he approaches his 100th day in office, and their backing is nearly double his approval rating among the general public, a new Pew Research Center analysis finds. The analysis is consistent with other recent surveys that have shown voters who backed Trump in November are still fervently behind him. But Pew's data is notable because Trump is a relative newcomer to the evangelical community, a critical voting bloc that helped power his underdog victory. Eight in 10 white evangelicals who attend church at least once a month approve...
