This is my first prayer request on FR. My brother has had MS for 20 years. He has been on permanent disability for 15. Two weeks ago he had surgery to reattach a pump that is connected to his spine. Yesterday they discovered he has an infection in his spinal cord from the first surgery. They are going to perform another surgery today. He is truly my hero, a very decent family man and devote Christian. He never complains. Instead of saying Why me? he says Why not me? It had to happen to someone. I can handle it. His...

My father in law, the beloved great grandfather of our 9 grand children, died a few hours ago. As a Catholic it pains me to ask for selfish prayers. But screw that, this is a guy I loved and respected more than you can imagine. He was a father to me in truth, not just a courtesy father borrowed from my wife. Please help us send him home. He wasn't what you would call the most devout person on the planet, but he believed in God and right. He lived right. I'll not see him in purgatory. Thank you.

Andrew Domini’s feet were blistered and bloodied. He could barely walk by the time he finally made it to a pink marble church and crawled the last 90 feet to a quiet shrine tucked into the corner. As he paused a couple of weeks ago in front of the wooden coffin that held the remains of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin and prayed, the 19-year-old said he finally felt at peace. Domini had walked nearly 70 miles, becoming an unlikely spiritual pilgrim. But the religious shrine wasn’t in Rome, Jerusalem or some other officially holy city. It was in St. Mary-of-the-Woods,...
