She only has one kidney (having lost the other to cancer in 1965 when she was in her 20s), she seems not to be responding to the antibiotics (she's allergic to most antibiotics anyway), and now she's severely short of breath. The good part is that the tumor is benign -- thank God -- but it will be tricky for the surgeon because of the potential for damage to surrounding nerve tissue. On November 10th at the Malcolm Randall Memorial VA Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, Senior Chief Jimmy G. had laproscopic surgery for the tumor removal and esophageal/stomach resection.
