Dear FRiends, I received this urgent message from my niece yesterday: "My son Jonathan is in critical condition with a blood clot in his brain, heart and lungs. We need all your prayers at this time. Today he survived his first surgery to try to dissolve the clot in the brain. Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort. Limbaugh suffered from chest pains, sources said.

Hey all, new here but lurked for ages. I was hoping I could get some prayer assistance please. It's not for me, my 2009 has been horrible but I can take it; I'm hoping to get your prayers for my uncle. See, he's a special needs guy and my mom has been caring for him since their parents death a few years ago. Well he went to the hospital today because he's been vomitting blood amongst other things. He's been in a wheelchair his whole life and is not fully developed mentally like we all are. I'm hoping for your...

"Thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor." - Psalm 68:10 The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light, I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest, My daughter beside me, angelic in rest. Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white, Transforming the yard to a winter delight. The sparkling lights in the tree I believe, Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve. My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep, Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
Prayer Request for My Mom

I've seen in the past how Freeper prayers work, as I think you all prayed my Dad back from the brink a few years ago, but now my Mom is sick in the hospital with a severe kidney infection. She only has one kidney (having lost the other to cancer in 1965 when she was in her 20s), she seems not to be responding to the antibiotics (she's allergic to most antibiotics anyway), and now she's severely short of breath. The docs don't seem to be all that sure of what's causing this to be so resistant to treatment so...

Prayer Request for My Niece and for My Brother

My niece Hilary, age 35, is undergoing surgery this coming Thursday to remove a tumor from below her clavicle (collar bone). The good part is that the tumor is benign -- thank God -- but it will be tricky for the surgeon because of the potential for damage to surrounding nerve tissue. Please pray for Our Lord to guide the hands of Hilary's doctors. My brother Ed also needs our prayers. He uderwent surgery about 6 weeks ago for a torn rotator cuff and some other damage resulting from an auto accident. He appears to have nerve damage that has...

A Joke Too Far

A tasteless joke – one that saw earlier popularity during the administrations of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush – has resurfaced across America. It is being told in whispers, emails, and even bumper stickers. During Mr. Clinton’s administration it even found its way into some Sunday church bulletins. And it is really beneath contempt in its lack of respect for the president, the presidency, not to mention the Bible itself. It goes something like this: “Pray for President Obama. Psalm 109:8.” At first glance it appears innocuous, even pious. But when time is taken to look up the reference, well,...

Prayers for Election

Prayers/Scriptures for Election Presidential Prayer Team website ^ | 2004 | Presidential Prayer Team Posted on Friday, February 01, 2008 10:00:17 PM by Joann37 I found some Scripture references pertaining to the 2004 Presidential Election at the Presidential Prayer Team website. But the actual Scriptures were left out; only the references and the way in which we could apply them were listed. So I added the Scriptures (all are from the NIV). Many of us here are so concerned about the outcome of Tuesday's election. So PLEASE consider taking these Scriptures (and distributing to others, if you feel so compelled)...

SD Band "A City Serene" Deals With Aftermath of Bus Crash

A few days into their first tour, a young San Diego band met with tragedy, leaving two members in comas four days after the incident. In the aftermath, families are dealing with the consequences as a community rallies to support the victims. The band, A City Serene, was travelling north on Interstate 5 near Bakersfield when a Ford truck lost control and smashed into the band’s tour bus. Due to the seriousness of the injuries sustained, most of the band members don’t remember the accident. But “two remember really scary stuff,” said band manager Billy Candler.
