A little over a month ago, I had the opportunity to put together a video honoring Veterans Day to be shown at BlogCon 2011 in Denver, Colorado. In conjunction with FreedomWorks, I was able to get a handful of questions about Veterans Day over to a handful of politicians to have them say thank you to our troops. Because of technical difficulties, it wasn’t actually uploaded and shown to anyone until one day after Veterans Day much to my disappointment. You can view that video here and I hope you do. But there was another part of this work that...

GOP Presidential Candidate Jon Huntsman dismissed Donald Trump and the debate the real estate mogul and reality TV star will be moderating, and told Larry Kudlow he’s the only consistent conservative in the race. The former Utah Governor and former ambassador to China likened the Newsmax-sponsored presidential debate to a reality show, and said he would not be participating. “There’s some dignity associated with a run for the highest office in the land, and it shouldn’t be trivialized and it shouldn’t be dumbed down,” he said. “If Don Trump cares about our nation’s future, he should have been a candidate...

The real cause of the housing bubble and collapse is very simple: An Executive Order by Bill Clinton and enthusiastically championed by George Bush, 13166, forced banks to make bad loans or no loans at all. And Newt Gingrich was championing putting an end to EO 13166 years before the collapse of the banking industry. In the late 1990s, a grand compromise was reached between President Clinton and Senate Banking Chairman Phil Gramm. Long ago, government types decided that home ownership was the key to fiscal stability, but too many blacks didn't qualify for loans. The banking industry argued that...

Herman Cain has gotten the protection of Secret Service agents, apparently effective today, sources told POLITICO earlier today. A Cain spokesman didn't respond to repeated requests for comment. But ABC News has also apparently confirmed that Cain is getting federal protection. Continue Reading It's unusual for candidates to get such protection prior to receiving the nomination, unless there is a credible threat of some kind. UPDATE: “We are protecting Herman Cain,” Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said Thursday night. He said the decision was made by Homeland Security “Secretary Napolitano, at the request of the Cain campaign and in consultation...

A 'new' Herman Cain's 'accuser' is about to go public today, with the help of the Queen of Sleaze, Gloria Allred, the one who once sued the Boy Scouts on behalf of a girl, claiming "discrimination" (she lost). You know the one who represented the illegal alien housekeeper of Meg Whitman, former California Gubinatorial Candidate. Gloria Allred is, as Michelle Malkin puts it, a crapweasel. A so-called "feminist" lawyer who parades pathetic caricatures of victimhood, instead of actually empowering women. Today she will parade a woman who - 12 years ago, never filed...

As an example of a Republican Party Hobson`s Choice candidate, Herman Cain, and his proposed `opportunity zones`, not only would his `opportunity zones` violate the Constitution, but they are a very bad idea in respect to the power that would be exercised by our folks in Washington under opportunity zones and how that power would affect our political system! I object to the federal government entering my state and using the force of the federal government to pick winners and losers by allowing people living in an federally designated opportunity zone to be relieved from paying federal taxes, while those...

Tuesday, October 25, 2011 The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 18% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -22 (see trends). That’s the lowest level of Strong Approval ever measured for this president. Just 21% favor the forgiveness of student loans while people remain evenly divided in their opinion of the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

As the 2012 election draws closer, Democrats are getting less — not more — enthusiastic about the prospect of voting for president. In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll just more than four in 10 (42 percent) Democrats said they were either “extremely” or “very” enthusiastic about the 2012 vote. Those numbers compare unfavorably to Democratic enthusiasm number in CNN surveys from the spring and summer, when 56 percent and 55 percent of Democrats, respectively, described themselves as either “extremely” or “very” enthusiastic about voting next year. By contrast, the level of Republican enthusiasm has been high and steady for...

The Perry's have hit a wall, they may or may not be able to break through it. This election is taking on a mind of its own and even the GOP cannot control voters. While voters are dumping Perry for Cain, Romney is at a standstill. Governor Perry and his wife have a long road ahead of them on the way to the White House. She sounds whiny about them being criticized. The Perry's will have to learn to roll with the punches, defend the punches or just duck.

In 2008, I was a strong Mitt Romney supporter and was looking forward to casting my vote for him. Then, on Jan. 26, a mere three days before the primary, then-popular Gov. Charlie Crist sucker punched me by endorsing John McCain. I knew then that it was all over, and it was. Crist’s choice for the GOP presidential nominee became Florida’s choice. I was sucker punched again two years later, this time by both the Republican Party of Florida and the Republican National Senatorial Committee.

A source on the Rick Perry campaign tells Hot Air that the Texas governor conducted some Texas-size fundraising in the third quarter. Coming in just a little over halfway through, Perry raised $17.1 million. That number would put Perry somewhere between $4-6 million ahead of Mitt Romney’s rumored total for Q3, according to this report last week from the Boston Globe. It’s also likely to far outpace Herman Cain’s fundraising or that of the other Republicans currently in the race. The pace is even more impressive. Perry had 49 days in which to raise funds, rather than the full 92...
