President-elect Donald Trump broke bread with a fierce critic and now-possible cabinet pick Mitt Romney Tuesday night at Jean Georges Restaurant in Trump International Hotel. Trump, joined by his chief of staff designate Reince Priebus, sat with Romney at the fancy French eatery in Columbus Circle. The meeting took place after a weekend of internal strife in his campaign over whether to hire the former Massachusetts governor as Secretary of State.

(AP) Donald Trump’s incoming chief of staff suggests Hillary Clinton is backing away from a deal worked out between the two presidential campaigns on how the loser would concede to the winner. Reince Priebus tells “Fox News Sunday” that Clinton’s team “cut a deal” with Trump’s team specifying that once The Associated Press called the race in favor of one candidate, the other would call within 15 minutes to concede. Priebus says that’s just what happened election night. But now he’s questioning whether Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias is backing down from that deal by announcing Clinton will participate in...

The Cuban government must move toward enacting greater freedoms for its people and giving Americans something in return if it wants to keep warmer U.S. relations initiated by President Barack Obama, top aides to President-elect Donald Trump said Sunday. The comments by Trump advisers Kellyanne Conway and Reince Priebus followed the death of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro. Castro’s younger brother, 85-year-old Raul Castro, took control in 2006, and later negotiated with Obama to restore diplomatic relations. Priebus, Trump’s incoming chief of staff, said Trump would “absolutely” reverse Obama’s opening to Cuba unless there is “some movement” from the Cuban...

President-elect Donald Trump is not proposing a “registry based on a religion,” his incoming chief of staff Reince Priebus said Sunday, adding that people from countries posing terrorism concerns would be temporarily barred from entry into the U.S. “until a better vetting system is put in place.” Asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” whether he could “equivocally rule out a registry for Muslims,” Priebus replied, “Look I'm not going to rule out anything, but I wouldn’t — we’re not going to have a registry based on a religion.” He continued that “there are some people, certainly not all people,” who...

Less than a week after Trump’s victory, the nationally syndicated talk-radio host is keeping his word, criticizing the appointment of Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff. “We’ve gone from RINOs to Rinso in one election,” Savage told WND, dubbing Priebus with the name of the iconic laundry soap. Pundits and politicians have slammed the decision to hire Bannon, the former head of Brietbart News, labeling him as anti-Semitic, racist and misogynistic. WASHINGTON — With his first two key personnel appointments, President-elect Donald Trump made an overture to Republican circles by naming GOP chief Reince Priebus as his White House chief of staff and fired a shot across the Washington establishment's bow by tapping Breitbart News executive Stephen Bannon as chief strategist and senior counselor. Republican National Committee head Reince Priebus declared Sunday the anti-Donald Trump Republicans' effort to launch a third-party bid for the White House is a "suicide mission." In an interview with CBS News' "Face the Nation," Priebus — days after a closed-door sit-down with the GOP presumptive presidential nominee — warns against a third-party attempt at "blowing everything up." "It's a suicide mission because you're not only changing and throwing out eight years of the White House" but also jeopardizing the course of the Supreme Court, he replied. "We could have up to three justices change over in the next eight...

The head of the Republican National Committee denounced efforts to draft an independent candidate to run against Donald Trump as a "suicide mission" that could "wreck" the United States for generations. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus did not mince words as he urged party figures laying the groundwork for a third-party bid to suspend their work. "They can try to hijack another party and get on the ballot, but, look, it's a suicide mission for our country because what it means is that you're throwing down not just eight years of the White House but potentially 100 years on the Supreme...

Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus said this morning that even though no one could have "predicted what happened" in the GOP primary, "I don't think that's necessarily bad." "You know what? I think something different and something new is probably good for our party," he told CNN. (snip) Priebus added this morning on CNN that "obviously, you still have to get to 1,237 delegates." The chairman said he "was surprised" that Cruz dropped out, "and that's a hard thing to do." "I mean, he ran a very, very serious operation. Just an incredible ground game. His delegate operation was...

The chairman of the GOP says Donald Trump will not likely be successful in his effort to change the Republican Party platform to support abortions in cases of rape or incest. As LifeNews.com reported last week, Trump said he “absolutely” wants to change the Republican party’s current pro-life platform to promote abortions in cases of rape or incest. “Yes I would. Absolutely, for the three exceptions, I would,” he said. Trump was then pressed further and asked if he would make an exception to protect the “health” of the mother. “I would leave it for the life of the mother,...

Priebus opened his speech to RNC members here with a stern shot at the #NeverTrump forces. "It is essential to victory in November that we all support our candidate," Priebus said. "This goes for everyone, whether you're a county party chairman, an RNC member or a presidential candidate. Politics is a team sport, and we can't win unless we...
