After the news conference with Ed Rollins in Concord, NH, Huckabee and Rollins, his new national campaign manager, took some questions. The last question was about a Powerline blog, a conservative blog, story that he did not, in fact, have a theology degree, as he has claimed. Here is Huckabee's response: "I have a bachelor of arts in religion and a minor in communications in my undergraduate work. And then I have 46 hours on a master's degree at Southwestern Theology Seminary. (snip) Here's what Huckabee said in a Christian Broadcasting Network interview: "I'm as strong on terror as anybody....

As a presidential candidate, Rudy Giuliani recounts his eight-year stint as mayor of New York City as an era of tax-cutting and welfare-slashing, one long fight to tame the city's bureaucratic behemoth. That's basically true, but Giuliani and his campaign exaggerate some facts and ignore many others to hone the point. Giuliani often suggests that he alone was responsible for cutting 23 taxes, but seven of those moves were state initiatives, according to the city's Independent Budget Office. Of the remaining 16 tax reductions, Giuliani actually opposed the largest cut, which was due to come with the expiration of a...

At a press conference here, the Federal Trade Commission released a report (click here for PDF), delivered last week to Congress, that said the so-called Can-Spam Act is "effective in providing protection for consumers."...

I just found the link to a national survey which just started about intelligent design and whether or not it should be taught in public schools. The survey also asks about teaching religous philosophy in public schools as well. Very smart questions.

FOR countless Democrats around America, the announcement last week of a new initiative linking Senator Hillary Clinton to one of her party’s most appealing new stars amounted to a match made in political heaven. Not since President George W Bush crushed the Democratic party’s hopes in last November’s election have two senators with perhaps the strongest chances of beating Republican rivals to the White House formed such an intriguing alliance. Clinton has been linked with Senator Barack Obama, the charismatic black Democrat from Illinois, in a healthcare initiative that unites two formidable and ambitious politicians who have their eyes on...
