Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has had many inspiring moments in his career, but there was nothing inspiring about his tortured endorsement last weekend of Barack Obama. There were, in fact, so many galling aspects of it that it is hard to know where to begin. A number of commentators have already noted that Powell is now supporting a candidate who has called the Iraq war one of the biggest foreign policy blunders in recent history. That alleged "blunder" took place with the full support and cooperation of Powell himself. One might think that if he now wishes to...

My fellow Americans, my fellow Republicans. I am honored to be with you this evening. I am especially honored to be here with the distinguished Americans that you have just heard from. With President Gerald Ford, a man who at a time of national despair brought dignity and respect back to the presidency. And with President George Bush, who took us through the end of the Cold War and the defeat of communism. George Bush the statesman, George Bush the statesman and my boss who led us to a great victory in the Persian Gulf War. With Mrs. Nancy Reagan,...

And Obama does and from what that Palin hasn’t eclipsed? Would have been my followup, but I’m not surprised. He’s been a thorn in our efforts since before the 2004 election when all those surprising anonymous “tip” flowed from the State Department to embarssass the Administration. His “insurrection” led to Andy Card asking for his resignation. Note also Powell’s words match verbatim the Obama campaign’s talking points on the “standing in the world” and the “economy”. You’ll remember that in February he had told a group of students that electing a black president would be “electrifying“? That led to preliminary...

First of all, Bill Kristol reported this over 2 months ago and Powell issued strong denials at the time. The media was laying an October surprise in cooperation with Powell and Obama. One thing about Powell that most folks don't know is that he has received big $$$ from the Sauds since he retired from the Army, except when he was Sec. of State. He is bought and paid for by the same folks who are surreptitiously funding the Obama campaign.
