LoRo, Greg, Matthew, TomTheRedHunter Lurker Bill, PleaDeal, Chris, and VAFlagWaver LoRo, a Freeper, has been very busy working as an intern for the Heritage Foundation. She was able to join us on a fairly regular basis last summer. A few weeks ago she did a little recon and saw that we were still out here keeping Code Pink pushed down the street away from the gate. So she sent out an email to all her associates and friends at Heritage and asked if anyone wanted to join her at Walter Reed on the 11th. We were fortunate that she...

Pics by [Mrs] T The nine moonbats that showed up this week once again received almost no honks as the stood and sat, holding their signs belittling our soldiers tremendous efforts. Research by Harvard shows a correlation between active anti-troop protest and attacks on our troops. ”We find that in periods immediately...

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Proponents of gun rights gathered in the Loop Friday to push legislation legalizing concealed weapons in Illinois. Among the speakers at the rally was a Texas state representative whose parents were among 23 people gunned down at Luby's cafeteria in 1991. Recent rallies at the Thompson Center have been demands for gun control laws following fatal shootings of Chicago children. Thursday, the plaza was full again, but the message was from those demanding the right to bear arms. In a show of support for responsible gun ownership, about 200 chose the plaza of the Thompson Center for...

We just got back from the Heller rally in downtown Chicago and let me say these are some happy people. I’d estimate the crowd at between 200-300 (and I suck at estimating crowds!) Folks of every size, shape, color and religion were jubilant with the recent Heller decision and looking forward to being able to carry a handgun as a law abiding citizen of Chicago. Here are some photos… The crowd! The NRA folks were disappointed at the turn out, all I can say is for Chicago, on a Friday afternoon a crowd of this size was damn near miraculous!...

WOW and DOUBLE WOW is the only way I can describe the Patriotic Americans that attended the Walter Reed and Olney FReeps. It’s Saturday afternoon as I started this combined AAR and my heart still pounds with pride over all those who came out, especially to Walter Reed on the evening of the Fourth. Since I’m honored this week to write the Walter Reed AAR and usually write the Olney AAR, I had to combine the two because of their similarities. Several weeks ago a question as to who will be at Walter Reed came up. About 4 or 5...

PRICELESS!!! It was a hot and humid day with a passing shower. After dealing with the dilapidated umbrella that I gave [Mr] Trooprally for our 1st Rain FReep , he gave us big umbrellas just in case! The shower was quick and luckily not enough to even break out the umbrellas. It was, however, enough to get a rain drop on [Mrs] Trooprally's camera lens at one point. So, when you see a little spot in the middle of a few pictures, you will know the reason! Great pics courtesy of [Mrs] T. What a day full of surprises...

Border control will be the theme Saturday during the "Honor America" rally at the Santa Clarita Valley Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Honor America/Secure Our Border event is being hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley Independent Minutemen. Among the speakers scheduled to attend are Monica Ramos and Joe Loya, wife and father-in-law, respectively, of Ignacio Ramos, who is in prison after shooting an allegedly unarmed illegal immigrant and drug smuggler on the U.S. and Mexico border. The Civic Center is located at the corner of Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway.

After spending the winter in a warmer climate, 3DJoy in back in town for the summer. And she’s back in style. Just arriving last week, she was at Walter Reed, spent Friday night at the Olney Compound and was out at Olney, cheering for our brave troops. Then lunch at Dave’s Bistro. For those who know the place, they actually have a 6 page menu now. And the weather was almost perfect, just a little on the warm side in Olney. What a way to spend her first weekend in town. BELOW 3D in her stylish outfit at Walter Reed....

FROM EMAIL from Doug Lyvere, Eagles Up -- ...Code Pink is on the ropes. The Marines have been welcomed by the Chamber of Commerce. More people, civilian's and businesses, have started showing their support for Veteran's. Everyone's efforts have started to pay off. Everyone should be proud. So this time we're going to do it a little differently. Last time we designated Berkeley a "No spend zone". Some said this had zero impact. I disagree - we made a point and whether or not a negative financial impact was felt, we got a response. This time, I think we should...

We had our 1st Rain FReep last week and now the first hot and humid FReep/Rally of summer. I began the FReep alone and then my mom-in-law was kind enough to join me. All In The Family (Tree) meaning my mom-in-law and I shared a tree for shade! Sorry, folks - not much to report and no pictures for this week but we were there to Support Our Troops. We received a good amount of beeps, waves and thumbs up. A lady walked by and said "God Bless You". A guy in a GoArmy.com car stopped to thank us...

It finally happened. Our 1st Rain FReep/Rally in Westminster! Since October 2007, we have managed to stay outside the window of rain. Well, not today. It rained steadily the entire time. [Mr] Trooprally came from Olney to join us. Wouldn’t it figure that he missed the rain at Walter Reed and Olney but got soaked in Westminster. I think the rain really likes [Mr] T! Just as I helped Anomoly99 unfurl the flags, [Mr] T pointed out the rain was going to hit and also found a good spot under one of the shop canopies for My Hero (Chris) and...

Myrtle Beach officials: No more biker ralliesPosted on Wed, May. 28, 2008 MYRTLE BEACH — Furious and frustrated after the weekend shooting death of a 20-year-old Coastal Carolina University student, Myrtle Beach City Council members said Tuesday that they do not want motorcycle rallies in the city any more. A group of local ministers and a bike-rally event promoter spoke to the council at a morning workshop Tuesday and implored the city to help them "do something" about the behavior they witnessed during the past weekend. Other groups have complained to city officials in previous years after the Atlantic Beach...

Memorial Weekend – A time to remember and honor our fallen heroes who have proudly served their country and bravely defended our freedoms. Because of their sacrifices, we celebrate this Memorial Weekend. God Bless Our Heroes and the USA! It was a beautiful spring day with plenty of sunshine. We received our share of beeps, waves and thumbs up. We got one salute and a SEMPER FI shout. A man across the street gave us thumbs up. One lady approached us to tell us we were doing a great job. Two ladies on scooters, who are becoming regulars riding by,...

Multiple sources in the Media report that between 60,000 and 75,000 attended the Obama rally in Portland, Oregon on Sunday. A simple check of Google Earth, using the "ruler" tool shows that the area of Waterfront Park used for the rally is approximately 172,000 square feet. An person, standing upright, occupies an area of about 4 square feet, so even allowing for no gaps in the crowd , with everyone jammed in shoulder to shoulder, you can't get more than 43,000 people into the area. Clearly, there was space left around the dias, and there was space for people to...

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Former Sen. George McGovern, the 1972 Democratic presidential candidate and an early backer of Hillary Rodham Clinton, joined a noisy rally for Barack Obama on Friday night, describing the Illinois senator as a "ripple of hope" who can win the White House. McGovern has shifted his allegiance to Obama and suggested it's time for Clinton to pull the plug. He offered an explanation to a cheering crowd of 6,500. "Last October, I endorsed Senator Hillary Clinton," said McGovern. "She and her remarkable husband, President Clinton, way back 36 years ago worked their hearts out for me...

Welcome to FReep #16. It was Mary, Kelly, and me for this Friday's FReep. As usual our side received more honks than what the moonbats could ever hope to get and we got many waves, thumbs up, and a few kind words from passing motorists. The moonbats seemed a bit more tired and worn out today. While most of their group usually shows up between 4:30 to 4:45 there were only a handful of them from 4:20 to about 5:15. The rest of the old hippies finally straggled in at about 5:20. One of the moonbats brought his little boy,...

While Gov. Rick Perry was in Johnson Coliseum addressing SFA graduates, on the other side of campus a group of citizens were not so happy about his appearance in Nacogdoches. In the free-speech area of campus, near North Street and Vista Drive, many farmers, property owners and concerned citizens gathered for a Citizens Against the Trans-Texas Corridor Rally. Holding protest signs and using a tractor as a symbol of the farming community, those who gathered wanted to make their cause heard by the governor, as well as the community. Many vehicles traveling on North Street honked in support of the...

Around Martinsville, in eastern Nacogdoches County, country roads trail past farms and ranches. It's a place where people used to talk about hay yields. Now discussion has turned to politics. Protest signs reading, " No Trespassing to Trans Texas Corridor hang on their fences and gates. This week's discussion centers around a rally on the day Governor Rick Perry will be in Nacogdoches delivering a commencement speech. He may need more luck than the graduates. Trans Texas Corridor opponent, Larry Shelton said, " We want to send a message loud and clear to the governor that we are tired of...

Legs (Trooprally) was the 1st at our Westminster Rally. Check out Post #3 by WVNan and then my Post #5. Our comments grew on Legs as shown in Post #6. Legs just craved the attention for himself before my hubby- Anomoly99, My Hero and I joined him! Jimmy Valentine's brother continues the fun and encourages the ego of Legs Trooprally! LOL Honestly, I don't know if it was the USA and USMC Flags that Mr. T was flying proudly or newly nicknamed "Legs" getting the positive responses! All joking aside, we know that people appreciate us being out in Westminster...

An Appreciative Local must have thought we were hungry as he drove past us because he bought us (BELOW - that is Eager helping Lurker Bill on our left flank) a bag of McD's double cheeseburgers and a bag of 20 oz. sodas. This meant he had to stop at two places since McD's does not sell bottled soda. Most of us chowed down immediately. This Saturday we had also bought some Dunkin Donuts with the gift certificates (4 - $10 certificates) that another appreciative local gave us several months ago. It had been too cold to buy donuts previously...

Raleigh, N.C. — Organizers hope 50,000 people will show up in downtown Raleigh Saturday for the biggest military parade in state history. The Salute to Our Troops event will dedicate an entire day to active-duty and reserve members of every branch of the military and their families. "It's an opportunity for the people of North Carolina to get in here and say, 'Hey, guys, we appreciate what you do to ensure the freedoms that we enjoy every day,'" Van Krebs, the event director, said. Krebs said the parade down Fayetteville Street does not have a political agenda. It is intended...

PatrioticMarineMom and I had a warm, windy day consisting of spring flurries. Flurries of supporters and white petals from the flowering pear trees that line Main Street! PatrioticMarineMom was holding her USMC Flag and her favorite Marine son sign. I had my USA Flag and one of my favorite signs: God Bless The Military and Their Families. We received a decent amount of beeps, waves and thumbs up. We also received a few salutes, SEMPER FI and OOORAH shouts. Those are always good gestures to see and hear. One man thanked us for being there. We told him that we...

Welcome to the Redlands FReep #14. For the last couple of weeks my computer has been down so I was unable to post threads for FReeps #12 and #13. I had a good time FReeping on those two Fridays and hope nobody thought I decided to cut & run. Computers are wonderful pieces of technology but they can be a pain when they don't work right. YES, we have the moonbats on the run once again! Around 2:15pm, a moonbat whom we nicknamed “Howard” as in Stern, walked to his position to see nobody there! He walked across the street to talk to us. He approached me first as I was the closest. He asked me how I thought the war was going. I told him I thought it was going fairly well. He then wanted to see if he understood us. He asked if we were for peace but just in a different way. I told him that was right, that we believe in peace...

There will be a protest rally against illegal immigration, on the Front Steps of the Capitol Building on Charlotte Street in Nashville, on Saturday, April 26, 2008, from 12 Noon till 4 PM For too long our state government has supported illegal activities by people who are here illegally, while ignoring the health and safety needs of American citizens and residents of Tennessee. The costs to American citizens in deaths on the roads, the return of diseases once eradicated, and the economic support of ineligible illegal aliens by American taxpayers must cease. Cutting off the magnet of jobs has to...

Folks, it is time that we every day Americans say, “enough” to the trashing of everything we hold dear. America needs an American Tea Party, a rally in Washington DC protesting political correctness and the far left movement of our country. Most of us want to say, “Merry Christmas!” Most of us know speaking English is best for all Americans. Most of us are not offended by public prayer. Most of us know partial birth abortion is murder. While I have dear homosexual friends, most of us believe marriage should remain between a man and a woman. Most of us...

Finally, SPRING arrived in Westminster! PatrioticMarineMom and I were blessed with beautiful blue skies and sunny warm temps. Not much excitement for this particular FReep/Rally, but we did get our share of beeps, waves, thumbs up and a few conversations. One young girl driving by held her military cap out the car window. An Army wife walking by stopped to praise us and tell us she was an Army wife and they needed to be supported too. We agreed. Too bad all you male FReepers missed this one. The warm weather brought quite a few ladies out! A few said...

McCain was a POW when U.S. began to use laser-guided bombs TRIBUNE-REVIEW By Salena Zito Sen. Rockefeller got down and dirty today with colleague John McCain in an interview with the Charleston Gazette in West Virginia when he said: "McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they [the missiles] get to the ground? He doesn't know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues." Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki had this to say about the Rockefeller smack down: "Senator...

This is my story and Hitlery's handlers are not going to get me to change it and B. Hussein O. can't "change" my mind by spouting his "typical" dribble. Where is Doctor Raoul's gas mask when we need it? The three moonbats that showed up today had all 16 patriots shaking in their boots and ducking for cover when a strange green cloud blew over to our side of the street. It was so bad that several patriots had to deploy to the other two corners. Luckily the brisk wind soon dispersed the strange odor and we we back to...

We held down the fort on Saturday while PatrioticMarineMom and hubby were away for the weekend. Mr. T helped us out and brought along Kristinn, another fine, dedicated DC Chapter FReeper. It was pretty quiet at first, but things started to pick up. A girl driving by said her husband was in the Army. I said God bless him and thank him. There were a couple of drivers that saluted us. A Vietnam Vet held his hat out the window and we thanked him. A younger Military guy held his hat out the window as we thanked him also. These...

Lufkin Mayor Jack Gorden has been selected by the Texas Transportation Committee to serve on a citizens' advisory committee for putting together information regarding the proposed Interstate 69/Trans-Texas Corridor. According to Texas Department of Transportation officials, advisory committee members represent a cross-section of community and business leaders, landowners, local transportation experts and others. "Our goal is to enhance the public dialogue and meaningfully involve more Texans in transportation decisions," said Texas Transportation Commission Chair Hope Andrade. "These committees will have an important seat at the table as we work together to shape the future of transportation for our state." Gorden...

This day's FReep was rather ordinary but still loads of fun. It was Kelly and me for today. As usual we got many more honks and waves than the moonbats did. The moonbats stood on their corner in silence looking like zombies with all the life sucked out of them. Even the one little kid that was with them looked devoid of life. I guess with the surge working so well and public opinion turning in favor of the war, it must be a tough time for moonbats. Along with the honks and waves we got a number of compliments...

As I am somewhat new to doing on-the-ground reporting, and I simply wanted to give these patriots in an out-of-the-way small town their due, their diligence and determination truly struck me today - below 30f, windy and on a busy street corner (Petroleum Street bridge and Front Street). Apparently this particular troop rally has been going on for quite some time (several months), and as I work nights it is quite conceivable that I could miss it (asking for a pass :-) ). Hearing and seeing about these kind of rallies going on in our major metropolitan areas is nothing...

FORT WORTH -- The Trans-Texas Corridor is now so controversial, merely uttering the words in most political circles is taboo. "We're calling it a 'regional loop' because you can't say 'Trans-Texas Corridor' in the state of Texas anymore," said Michael Morris, transportation director for the North Central Texas Council of Governments. "The Trans-Texas Corridor is a lightning rod," he told visiting state representatives this week while explaining how the corridor would connect to regional highways by 2030. Opposition to the proposed construction of a $184 billion network of toll roads during the next 50 years is so strong statewide that...
