About 2,000 people arrived on Sunday evening at the government complex in Tel Aviv to demonstrate against public housing conditions in Israel. During the protest, the demonstrators tried to block major traffic arteries. At the same time, there were also demonstrations in Jerusalem, Haifa and Be’er Sheva. Five protesters were arrested during the demonstration in Jerusalem after they tried to block a street. The latest protests came following Saturday night’s self-immolation of Moshe Silman, a social justice protester who set himself ablaze during a rally in Tel Aviv, blaming government officials for his troubles. Prior to lighting the match, the...

I got an email yesterday from a friend wondering if I was interested in going to an anti-ObamaCare rally in Boston. To be honest, I didn't want to go. I was still fairly glum about the Supreme Court decision regarding ObamaCare. There were a lot of things today I would have much rather been doing. But I have been grousing so often to friends and acquaintances about this decision, I didn't feel as though I had any choice. So I went. It was a small crowd (I am guessing in the range of 50-100) but they had some speakers who...

They sat cross-legged on the two-lane highway in front of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Lower Providence Township on Thursday, closing it to traffic for more than 90 minutes. "No papers, no fear, immigrants are marching here!" the three dozen or so demonstrators shouted. "Hey, Obama, don't deport my mama!" The challenge to President Barack Obama’s health care reform law will result in the court either upholding it — giving bragging rights to Obama and congressional Democrats — or finding major pieces of it unconstitutional, setting off a political earthquake that would vindicate Republicans and conservative groups. The Russell 2000 small-stock index closed at a new all-time high, erasing all of its 2008-2009 bear-market losses. And the tech-dominated Nasdaq composite index rose to its highest point in a decade. It's easy to attribute the rally to the slew of cheery economic data. But what's really driving the bulls has more to do with investors frustrated with virtually zero returns on cash. True, the market rallied Wednesday amid news that the European Central...

Wauwatosa - Tonette Walker delivered a message straight from husband Gov. Scott Walker on Saturday, telling supporters not to be ruled by anger and assuring them that Republican reforms are working. "The other side has had a voice for over a year, but it's now time for us to speak up," Tonette Walker said during a rally at Hart Park. For about three hours, a large crowd stood on packed snow and ice to show they were standing with the governor during the first large Republican rally of the recall season. A coalition of Democrats, unions and a grass-roots organization...

I had to laugh when I opened the photobucket file for this week. [Mrs] T said that she didn’t take a lot of pictures. But only FIVE - it just made me laugh. Part of the reason was that the camera got so cold so quick that the batteries lost their umph. The other reason was [Mrs] T’s trigger finger also got real cold even though she was layered with foot and hand warmers. How cold was it? 25 degrees with a moderate wind. Do I hear violins from some of you in North Dakota? I bet you do not...

Seven Patriots supported our troops in Olney this morning of New Year’s Eve. Our special guest today was 3DJoy who brought up some warm southern temps for the DC area the past 10 days. Some spring bulbs even started to come up. While I was in the sun, I had to remove my jacket. Of course when the shade over took my spot, it got a little chilly and back on went the jacket. We also had a “newbie” today. Martin from [Mrs] T’s and Cindy_True_Supporter’s American Legion Post. Martin had such a good time waving, talking with every one...

As everyone is aware, winter is creeping closer. In the western parts of Maryland there has been several "measurable" snow falls. I know, several inches is nothing compared to some places, but here in Maryland, it is the talk of the day. The colder weather is still bearable but the wind today made it uncomfortable. The flags looked good though. BufordP - This flag is for you. Patriots in Olney on this Saturday are: Lurker Bill and FReepers Fraxinus, GunsAreOK, iMacMan, [Mrs] T and myself. iMacMan has been out with us the last month or so. iMac is a "cold...
