Well I braved the cold and rain and packed my husband and daughter (in her crown and sash) and went to the Gwinnett Arena in Atlanta. We got there about two hours ahead and we got there before the crowds were starting to form. It was chilly and wet outside, so they started letting people in to the building early. While most made a bee-line for the front of the stage, we instead scoped out the staging and chose to park ourselves near what looked to be a staging area. (Good thing I have a background in stage management –...

7 p.m.: Walked out of the Gwinnett auditorium with Tom Baxter, late of this page, who made this observation: That the thousands who attended the Sarah Palin/Saxby Chambliss rally were the most down-scale crowd he’s seen at a GOP event this year. In other words, these were white, young blue-collar newcomers to the process. “They’ve got no money,” Baxter noted. Three weeks ago, the Chambliss rally that featured John McCain in Cobb County drew a smaller and substantially different crowd — still white, but older and in business suits. At the end of the 35-mile drive back to Atlanta, the...

All right! I am about 10 feet from Sarah's podium in Raleigh! Can't take pictures from my Blackberry but the crowd is huge... Tens of thousands lined up outside. I managed to get VIP access at the last minute for the family and we're going to get a close-up view of our next Vice President! I'll try to post updates as the night goes on. Any Freepers in the crowd, let me know!

Hello Freepers! A rally for Sarah Palin was held in Kissimmee, Fl. today and it seems that all involved had a grand time. My guess is there was about 10,000 people there, a big crowd but the place was not packed. It was an ethically diverse group in a very family friendly atmosphere with tons of kids about. While standing in line next to a guy herding 5 teenage girls I asked the girls why they had come and they all screamed “WE LOVE SARAH PALIN!” Much to my relief there were no protesters anywhere and the Osceola County Sheriff’s...

I just want to share my memories of the Sarah Palin rally today in Kissimmee, Florida. My mom and dad and I left Daytona Beach today around 9AM and made our way to the event, where we were joined by my friend Olga. The weather was beautiful outside while we waited to get int, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. It was the most worthwhile experience possible. Here are my pictures: The Ticket: The Venue - the Silver Spurs Rodeo Arena in Kissimmee, FL: Always good to see the old girl flying high: And also good to see...

Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin brought some casual appeal to North Carolina on Sunday night, wearing jeans and singing "Redneck Woman" as she implored voters to hire the ticket to fix the nation's capital. While the Alaska governor said the election was going down to the wire, she said Democratic presidential rival Barack Obama has been acting as if he's already won. "Barack Obama and I both have spent quite some time on the basketball court," Palin told a raucous crowd of several thousand in Asheville. "But where I come from, you have to win the game before you...

Standing room only, infield & outfield of the Walter Latham Baseball Park, on the Elon University campus, Thursday, October 16, 2008. Miscellaneous pictures of Sarah & the crowd, shot from up to 50+ yards, with a variety of lenses: Miscellaneous pictures of the crowd; some B&W, some color: Some 0bamazoid freaks who were very rude, aggressive, and almost borderline violent. This was not pleasant: Finally, some pictures of the memorial to the Battle of Alamance, just south of the Elon University campus: HERE WAS FOUGHT THE BATTLE OF ALAMANCE MAY 16, 1771 BETWEEN THE BRITISH AND THE REGULATORS FIRST BATTLE...

A sea of red erupted for Sarah Palin on Friday afternoon, as more than 25,000 Hoosiers welcomed her to Noblesville like out-of-state family. “Sarah Palin could easily hail from Indiana,” Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman told the standing crowd at the Verizon Wireless Music Center outside Indianapolis, about 5:30 p.m. “… any one of its small towns.” Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee and governor of Alaska, took center stage amidst an overflowing crowd where VIP tickets merely assured entrance after hours in line. Thousands of supporters, many wearing red shirts or waving red pom poms, were herded through the walkways...

LANCASTER, Pennsylvania (CNN) — Sarah Palin invoked Joe "the Plumber" once again on Saturday in Pennsylvania, needling Barack Obama for having a “staged photo-op” interrupted by a voter asking him “a simple, a straightforward question” about taxes. “So when he left Joe’s neighborhood in Toledo, our opponent didn’t look real happy,” Palin said of Obama. “Seems that the staged photo-op there got ruined by a real person’s question. So here’s a guy working—standing there in his neighborhood when a candidate for president shows up and he wanted more than just a handshake and a campaign button. He wanted some answers.”...

SALEM, N.H. -- "Sa-rah! Sa-rah! Sa-rah!" Two days after her Democratic counterpart drew a comparatively intimate crowd of 600 people to a small basketball gym in Manchester, Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin filled the Salem High School football field to capacity last night with adoring supporters chanting her name. "Thank you for that warm welcome to the Granite State. I hope you don't take the beauty of your great state for granted," said Palin, opening her speech before a wildly enthusiastic and all-supportive crowd that Salem fire marshal Jeff Emmanuelson estimated to be about 7,000. "I've never seen anything like...

The day was unbelievable....ALMOST as unbelievable as to what goes into these debates! Holy moly. I can only imagine how much money these things cost! Anywho..... I arrived an hour early and the wait was heck. We were all to meet in the parking lot at 3:30, where the buses, which ran every 15 minutes, brought everybody to get credentialed. We arrived at our destination, then had to walk through the 1st security check point (we were given our id badges by the campaign prior to boarding the bus). We then walked on over to our "homebase"...which was about a...

DOVER — More than 3,000 people were waiting outside Dover High School this morning for a chance to hear Sarah Palin speak at the school later this morning. The crowd was just beginning to file in about 9:45 a.m. The line stretched from the school, up Alumni Avenue and onto Route 108. Inside, the stage was set for Palin, the Alaska governor and vice-presidential hopeful, who will speak from under banners that proclaim "Country First" and "New Hampshire does the same". The theme from "Rocky" is playing in the background. For eventgoers and members of the press, security has been...

Sarah Palin made her New Hampshire debut in front of a raucous crowd of more than 1,300 this morning, labeling Barack Obama a big spender and big taxer. With her ticket trailing in state and national polling, the Alaska governor stayed away from the harshly negative tone that has drawn criticism among the mainstream national media and Democrats in a speech at a packed Dover High School gymnasium. Appearing on a stage to chants of “Sar-ah! Sar-ah!” Palin spoke at a podium beneath a huge blue, hold and white sign declaring “New Hampshire Puts Country First.” She read from a...

By JEFF E. SCHAPIRO RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH Published: October 14, 2008 Vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin dashed into the conservative heartland of Virginia yesterday, likening the struggling Republican ticket to a stock-car racer revved for a come-from-behind victory. Standing on a sun-baked stage on a dusty field on the edge of Richmond International Raceway, Palin referred to Jimmie Johnson’s squeaker win last month in the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at the sprawling NASCAR complex in Henrico County. Dismissing polls that show her and presidential nominee John McCain trailing nationally—and in traditionally Republican Virginia—Palin said, “It’s looking a lot like that Rock...

NEW YORK In a lenghty account of a Sarah Palin rally in Scranton, Pa. today, the local paper, the Times-Tribune, relates that at 1:25 p.m. just before she arrived, a candidate for Congress stepped on stage: "Chris Hackett addressed the increasingly feisty crowd as they await the arrival of Gov. Palin. "Each time the Republican candidate for the seat in the 10th Congressional District mentioned Barack Obama the crowd booed loudly. "One man screamed "kill him!'"

RICHMOND, VA - Gov. Sarah Palin added a line attacking her opponent for opposing gun rights Monday, while crooner Hank Williams, Jr., changed the lines of his song to fit the political event. "We believe in the forward movement of freedom, not the constant expansion of government," Palin told a crowd at the Richmond International Speedway Monday. "And though Barack Obama disagrees, that freedom includes ... the rights and liberties under the Second Amendment." Palin spoke to a crowd of about 20,000 people, according to the Associated Press. A large part of the crowd in the back could not hear...

Freeps, I just watched the La Crosse Rally, and it was compelling enough that i wanted to start a new thread. Many thanks to bayliving for the original live thread! This was the best speech in my opinion that McCain has given all year. It was detailed, mature, hard hitting, and very Presidential. A new narrative seems to be developing that is really exciting: Underdog. McCain has shifted the message from "dont believe the polls" to "we are down like we always are but we are going to surprise everyone one more time". Also, McCain introduced a new idea: to...

Waukesha, WI - If John McCain and Sarah Palin came to Waukesha on Thursday to fire up the Republican base, they could have left their matches at home. Based on the raucous reception the GOP ticket received at a town-hall meeting, the party regulars are plenty fired up — as well as feisty, anxious and a bit frustrated. Angry even. “I’m mad,” one man declared, when handed the microphone. “I’m really mad, and what may surprise you is it’s not the economy.” He paused, a hand on his hip, amid cheers. “It’s the socialists taking over our country.”Louder cheers. Including...

Listening to Rush, he had a clip of a questioner at the Waukesha townhall towards the end of the 2nd hour. An UnhaPPy camper , sounds like a FREEPER!!! He effectively said, "We have Obama, Pelosi. What we have is socialists taking over the country.." He was not pleased at all. nor should he be.

PENSACOLA - She entered the Pensacola Civic Center to chants of "Sarah, Sarah!" and was swamped by autograph-seekers on the way out. Sarah Palin isn't your run-of-the-mill politician. She's a bona fide rock star. "They have an enthusiasm and belief in Governor Palin unlike any political figure I've ever seen," said U.S. Rep. Jeff Miller, describing a crowd that stood in pouring rain for hours to see the vice presidential candidate. "You probably have to go back to Ronald Reagan to find a politician able to fan this kind of excitement," Miller said. Palin, Alaska's chief executive and the running...

CLEARWATER - Thousands of people turned out early this morning for a lively rally with the Republican vice-presidential candidate, Gov. Sarah Palin. Lines formed outside Coachman Park before 5 a.m. for the Alaskan governor's speech -- two hours before sunrise and four hours before the speech itself. Palin's stop was the first of several in Florida, a key battleground state that polls say is still too close to call in the race between Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama. Palin will also be rallying support in Ft. Myers, Boca Raton, Jacksonville, and Pensacola. In her last Florida stop a...

By Shawn Steel CRP National Committeeman to the RNC October 4, 2008 Not since Ronald Reagan's final campaign rally at Orange County's Mile Square Park on the eve of the 1984 election, have thousands of Californian Republicans gathered. Neither Bush could do it. None of last year's Republican presidential candidates could fill the Home Depot Tennis Center. The Center has 13,000 court side seats. All those seats plus the suites were filled to capacity. Still thousands more were slowly streaming into the stadium quickly filled up the court yard. Thousands more found standing room around the rim of the stadium....

The more criticism heaped on Sarah Palin, the more her Nebraska fans said Sunday they would rally around the Republican vice presidential candidate with the folksy demeanor. Palin, several Republicans said, has been unfairly maligned by Democratic critics and "gotcha" journalists who don't like the Alaska governor because she's a political outsider with down-home roots. "She's one of us. She has a family and she has a job," said Carolyn Gigstad, a Republican from Syracuse, Neb., who was a working mother until a couple of years ago. "I think she has a lot more on the ball than a lot...

CARSON, Calif. An enthusiastic crowd estimated between 15,000 and 20,000 jammed the Home Depot tennis stadium to rally for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in Carson Saturday. Palin praised running mate John McCain and criticized Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama while spelling out the goals of a McCain-Palin administration during her speech before an overflow crowd. Home Depot Center officials estimated as many as 20,000 people, jammed into the 8,000-seat capacity facility and an overflow area, attended the rally. Saturday's event was Palin's first visit to Southern California since McCain named her as his running mate Aug. 29. The...

Sarah Palin roared into her rally here tonight — after her first and only Vice-Presidential debate — aboard the Straight Talk Express that literally drove into the arena. She hopped out flanked by her family: parents Chuck and Sally Heath, Todd, Willow, Piper, and baby Trig and dove into the crowd greeting several thousand supporters at the Chaifetz Arena at St. Louis University. Palin — clearly buoyed from her debate performance — told the screaming supporters that she was talking for them at tonight’s head to head with Joe Biden, “That was quite the debate we had here tonight and...

I'm just leaving Chaifetz Arena on the campus of St. Louis University - what a night! After some pre-debate entertainment, thousands of GOPers settled in to watch Palin destroy Biden on several big screens. After the convincing win, Gov. Palin came by to deliver a speech, along with her family. They were on "The Straight Talk Express," and the bus literally pulled into the arena, some 30 feet from the stage. We were promised a big entrance, and she certainly didn't disappoint! At one point during the speech, some members of a group with a pink banner - presumably Code...

MEDIA, Pa. -- With Sarah Palin in a red leather jacket and American Chopper dude Paul Teutul on stage, the McCain campaign took on a born-to-be-wild vibe a rally at the courthouse square here. Palin introduced Teutul -- founder of the Orange County Choppers and the host, with his sons, of American Chopper on the TLC channel -- as he rode onstage on a white chopper, a type of motorcycle, dedicated to POW-MIAs. Teutul noted McCain's years in a Vietnamese prison.

LADY LAKE, Florida (CNN) – The Villages, which bills itself as “Florida’s premier active adult retirement community,” is a regular stopover for presidential candidates hunting for votes in this quadrennial electoral battleground. Sarah Palin chose this sprawling golf haven as the place to make her Florida debut on Saturday, just her fifth campaign event apart from John McCain since becoming the vice presidential nominee. It may have been a wise choice, if only for the optics — on the same day Barack Obama drew over 20,000 voters to an outdoor rally in North Carolina, Palin attracted tens of thousands...

Palin Makes Stop In Central Florida Governor Gives Speech At The Villages THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- A day after Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama made a campaign stop in Daytona Beach, Gov. Sarah Palin -- Sen. John McCain's running mate -- gave a speech to thousands of people at The Villages. Palin has injected excitement into the campaign for many voters, including numerous at The Villages, which is a reliably Republican community of nearly 70,000 retirees. 12Palin talked about the financial crisis in the United States and took a jab at Obama, saying he "voted present" last week on...

County GOP leaders predict about 15,000 people will attend - making it the largest for a political event since President Ronald Reagan visited Media in 1984 on his way to a landslide re-election victory over Democratic former Vice President Walter Mondale. McCain and Palin are due to arrive between 5 and 5:30 p.m. As of early Sunday afternoon, only about 50 tickets were left for party faithful or otherwise, said Upper Darby GOP Chairman John McNichol. The tickets were distributed to GOP leaders in the five-county Philadelphia region, with Delaware County receiving more than the others. For the second day...

Here is my after action photo 'blog' of the Palin-McCain rally that went down this morning in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Enjoy! (If you get bored of the pictures the hippy zot is toward the end) So we got there just before 8. It was a beatiful day here in Iowa. They directed us to park in this huge field and had a line of busses waiting for us. The Busses hauled us around to the other side of the airport to a hanger near the FedEx facility. There we got to wait in another line: Waiting to go through security...

-snip- The town-hall-style meeting was Ms. Palin’s first time taking questions from voters since she landed on the ticket almost three weeks ago (she has yet to hold a news conference), and it offered a glimpse into how she could handle herself without a script. Governor Palin showed herself to be a crowd-pleaser, and it was clear that she and Mr. McCain – who had only met once before offering her a spot on the ticket – have begun to develop an easy rapport. (She no longer called him “Senator John S. McCain,” as she sometimes did right after she...

The following is a photo essay on Sarah Palin's first "solo" campaign rally held at the Pony Express Pavillion, Carson City, Nevada. The beautiful Carson Valley as seen from Spooner Pass. The waiting line snaked through the adjoining park. Local politicians worked the waiting crowd. My wait in line was just under two hours. No Obama worship here. This woman made her own shirt and gave one to Palin as a gift. People brought many great tributes. This man told me his wife drew the picture and, "she is a schoolteacher." There were a lot of great signs! You will...

7,000 cheer McCain, Palin near Youngstown Senator says he would shape up Wall Street By Stephanie Warsmith Beacon Journal staff writer POSTED: 06:38 p.m. EDT, Sep 16, 2008 VIENNA: Sen. John McCain promised a crowd of more than 7,000 Tuesday near Youngstown that he would get tough on Wall Street. ''Government has the responsibility to act in the public interests,'' he told the boisterous audience that filled an expansive hangar at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. ''That's exactly what I intend to do.'' The crowd was eager to hear McCain and running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who made their first...

OK folks, here is my report on the Sarah Palin rally held in Carson City, NV on Saturday, September 13, 2008. The day the Palin visit was made, I called the Carson City Republican HQ to get information. The poor woman who answered the phone was tearing her hair out as they had zero information, phones ringing off the hook and people just dropping by. I picked my daughter up from school at 11AM - she's a senior in HS and won't be able to vote in this election (she hasn't forgiven me for having her 6 months too late)....
