  • 'Blood Moon' Eclipse on Holy Monday Sparks Prophecies of 'Rapture'

A rare "blood moon tetrad" will arrive with the start of a total lunar eclipse, beginning late on Monday evening--or, for most of the East Coast, early Tuesday. The eclipse, in which the full moon will be darkened by the earth's shadow, will coincide with the Jewish festival of Passover. In a bizarre, rare calendrical coincidence, the Jewish holiday of Sukkot in October will also feature a solar eclipse--as will both Passover and Sukkot next year as well.

Parenthetical clauses are used throughout scripture to explain how, why, when and where in close proximity to the main subject and verb. Parentheses in the book of The Revelation explain cause and effect. They tie together the events that happen previously, to the events that transpire subsequently on the prophetic timeline. Unfortunately, parentheses, as a literary devise, come centuries after the actual parenthetical clauses so prevalent in both Hebrew and Greek linguistic constructions. Because of their late arrival into the English language, the parentheticals in the book of The Revelation have never been either deservedly researched or accurately articulated. Now,...

As a thief veils his presence from those he wishes to steal from, so the Lord has veiled the doctrine of the Pre-Tribulation coming for His church. That may be construed by some as a loaded statement, for sure. Of course, those who have put forth great effort in the study of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine may dispute its veiling. Indeed, for those who search out truth through the effort of study, and humble reliance upon the Holy Spirit, truth is unveiled. It is of no mystery to the children of God that He requires us to study His Word....

Why I believe the Rapture of the Church will take place between December 25, 2013, and January 4, 2014 The Lord has been giving me pieces to a puzzle for the last 13 years, leading me to the date for the firstfruits Rapture of the Church. The puzzle ends between December 25, 2013, and January 4, 2014. I very strongly believe that the Rapture will take place on January 3/4, 2014. However, it is possible that the puzzle can end as early as December 25, 2013.

How did Israel so utterly destroy that massive invasion force all by itself? How did all these things happen so suddenly? Why didn’t somebody see this coming and do something to prevent it? What a horrifically EXPONENTIAL amazing time is just before us in which the world of today is absolutely oblivious to (1 Thess. 5:2-3). The Day of the Lord is at hand in which the godlessness, lawlessness and violence of man will reach its EXPONENTIAL zenith (2 Thess. 2:2:8-12, Rev. 6-19)! What is amazing is that the very world leaders we see today raging and conspiring against Israel and Almighty God's RIGHTEOUSNESS most likely will be the very ones who will give their power and authority to the upcoming beast (aka- Anti Christ - 2 Thess. 2:3-12, Rev. 13, 17:12-17). CARLISLE, Iowa—A generation of teenagers first met Russell Doughten Jr. while sitting on the floor of their church basement, watching his film A Thief in the Night. Forty years later, most of them still remember the experience as intense and even frightening. “People generally have one of two reactions to the prophecy films,” Doughten once told a researcher. “Either people are scared to death and tell themselves it isn’t real, or they say, ‘Forget it, nothing like that could ever be.’ But the Bible is true, and this is what the Bible says.”Russell S. Some Christians believe that Jesus will return secretly, and the “rapture,” when Jesus “catches up” believers into the clouds of glory with him will be secret. As a young Christiain I watched a number of movies about this secret rapture. I particularly remember one called “A Thief in the Night.” The opening scene shows a young woman waking up with the radio on announcing the sudden worldwide disappearance of thousands. Two days before the date his boss had predicted as the Apocalypse, Matt Tuter made an auspicious decision: He canceled the skywriters. Family Radio, the Oakland-based evangelical network run by Harold Camping, had already spent more than $5 million on 5,000 billboards announcing Judgment Day -- May 21, 2011 -- according to tax documents. Now, Tuter said, he feared that the airplanes, which were to inscribe the warnings in the skies above major U.S. cities, were one expense too many for a business operating as if there really would be no tomorrow. Two years later, Camping's predictive powers have been...

Democrats have feared for years that one of the particular challenges of running campaigns in 2012 would be simply locating their voters. The party’s constituencies (young people, immigrants, minorities) tend to be among the most mobile demographic groups. And as NPR speculated this week in an analysis of battleground-state foreclosure figures, the housing crisis will likely only have made things more difficult for Democrats looking for their supporters. In 51 AD, almost 20 years after the Resurrection, the Apostle Paul became the first to reveal the incredible secret that would become known as the Rapture of the Church. He did this in his earliest written communication, his first letter to the Thessalonians (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17), repeating it four years later in a letter to the Corinthians (1 Cor. 15:51). In doing so, Paul finally identified the group mentioned in Matthew 24:31 who would be in Heaven waiting to return with the Lord at his 2nd coming. From Thessalonians we know that, at the Rapture, the dead in Christ...

Revelation and Jerusalem's Destruction by Rusty Miller We believe the book of Revelation to be a prophecy regarding the coming destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. But when there is so much disagreement about this in the religious world, how do we prove such? First, the book would have meant something to its readers. Note that in the letters to the churches (ch. 2-3), two of the churches (Smyrna and Philadelphia) are comforted regarding their persecution by the Jews, whom Jesus calls ""a synagogue of Satan"" (2:9; 3:9). These churches would have been comforted by the coming judgment on Jerusalem....

Today, we will explore how Dispensationalism took this lie and formed another: the Parenthesis Gap Theory. This 'gap' was 'unknown and unforeseen' to Christianity until Darby and Scofield 'uncovered' it in the 19th century. But is it really there? Just days after Obama insisted Israel must give up lands it won through military victory with its enemies, some 200 people were killed by a tornado in Joplin, Mo. There's a pattern here. We saw it in Katrina, when George Bush forced Israel's...

Hudson Valley’s WFSO, Olivebridge NY issues “a humble appeal to followers of Harold Camping” and says something startling – “Now is the time to repent and turn to Christ.” No doubt Camping (who’s not a minister) would find that strange, since he believes he’s helped save many people around the world. But the failure of Camping’s May 21 end-of-the-world prophecy, in the eyes of WFSO, means it’s time to talk plainly. It says “From now on, do not lend your ears to anything from Harold Camping” – and Redeemer Broadcasting Network claims that perhaps 80% to 90% of Family Radio’s...

Harold Camping, the 89-year-old leader whose study of the Bible convinced him and his followers that the world would end, has been described by his wife as "flabbergasted" that the apocalypse didn’t start over the weekend. There are some red faces out there. And if that's all it had been, then one could argue no great harm had been done. But while Camping and his followers try to figure out what went wrong (or right) — with news Monday night that he now says Judgment Day will come on Oct. 21 — the failed prophecy did more than just damage...

On Open Letter to Harold Camping of Family Radio Dear Mr. Camping: In July of 2009 you and I engaged in a debate on the Iron Sharpens Iron radio program concerning your teaching that the church age had ended and that Christ would return on May 21, 2011. I trust you recall our exchange. I am also aware that you have at least seen my book, Dangerous Airwaves: Harold Camping Refuted and Christ's Church Defended. I have been seeking to warn people about your teachings, sir, for about a decade. I know others have been warning the church about you...

The world will end in 2002, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2026, 2029 or 2046, according to a series of expert observations: […] • 2008: We have only seven years left to peak global emissions before facing escalating dangers of runaway global warming. • 2008: The Stern Report said we’ve only got eight to eighteen years left to significantly reduce global emissions or risk costly and irreversible damage to the planet. • 2009: We have, at best, 100 left before a new, far more dangerous phase of global warming begins … With at best 90 months left...

Family Radio has solicited millions from donors over the years and reportedly spent over $100 million on advertising for the May 21 Judgment Day. But now that the "guaranteed" rapture didn't happen, people are wondering: Can Harold Camping or Family Radio be sued? Did they do anything illegal in soliciting donations based on the rapture prediction? And do donors have legal ground to sue the discredited prophet? Probably not, says an executive of Charity Navigator, which evaluates over 5,500 of America's largest charities. The charity evaluator rated Family Radio as a 4-star charity, the highest possible ranking. Sandra Miniutti, vice...

I know there was a lot of mocking and hoopla about the rapture last weekend. Well, I want to say the world mocked this guy, but the news reports and constant chatter about it revealed an uneasy sense of "what if." Like many, I knew that it was nothing to worry about. So I paid no attention to this quack, Harold Camping, who now is saying he was off by a few months. Oh...no kidding....this guy should give up "preaching" and become a politician. All serious Christians knew this guy was full of it... But about that day or hour...

No Rapture - 'That was Awkward' ... Billboard Remember all those 'The World is Ending' billboards? Well - in Greensboro, North Carolina there's a new billboard. It can be seen near Interstate 40 in Guilford County. The billboard says: "That was awkward" and included a verse from Matthew 24:36 stating "No one knows the day or the hour..." No comment from Mr. Camping.. who predicted the world would end over the weekend, but has now changed the rapture date to October 2011.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- As crestfallen followers of a California preacher who foresaw the world's end strained to find meaning in their lives, Harold Camping revised his apocalyptic prophecy Monday, saying he was off by five months because the Earth actually will be obliterated on Oct. 21.

I travel from time to time. Unfortunately, this requires sleeping in hotel rooms. My last hotel stay had me pondering the differences between a hotel room and my own home. The "hospitality" industry specializes in the sterile and generic. I can hope for little more than clean sheets, hot water, and maybe a coffee machine. Even luxury hotels, despite elegant fixtures and expensive amenities, are designed for standardized guests. Any art on the walls is mass-produced. One hotel room is the same as another. But my house, with all its quirks, is a home: a long-term habitat, a place of...

To clear up one question: no donations will be returned, since Family Radio principal Camping says the money was given to spread the gospel, and that work will continue. He devoted his entire 90-minute "Open Forum" Monday night (5/23) to questions about what really happened last Saturday. He reiterated his belief that the world truly is going to end on October 21, and as far as he’s concerned, Judgment Day really did occur on May 21. Why were there no terrible earthquakes and disasters over the weekend? Because, he says, God decided not to make people suffer through the next...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The evangelical Christian broadcaster whose much-ballyhooed Judgement Day prophecy went conspicuously unfulfilled on Saturday has a simple explanation for what went wrong -- he miscalculated. Instead of the world physically coming to an end on May 21 with a great, cataclysmic earthquake, as he had predicted, Harold Camping, 89, said he now believes his forecast is playing out "spiritually," with the actual apocalypse set to occur five months later, on October 21. Camping, who launched a doomsday countdown in which some followers spent their life's savings in anticipation of being swept into heaven, issued his correction...
