Recall efforts in California are a matter of the state version of The Swamp versus the citizens with national implications on multiple levels. With nearly 2 million signatures collected, it's clear recall SHOULD go forward. If it doesn't, blame a system that's rigged beyond repair.. In a normal year and a normal state, efforts to recall a governor that yields 2 million signatures when less than 1.5 million valid ones are necessary would be considered successful. But this is 2021 and the state in question is California which means it’s hit or miss. The efforts to recall Governor Gavin Newsom...

[snip]The two U.S. officials, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity, said the Turkish officer was working at the headquarters of NATO's Allied Command Transformation, located in Norfolk, Virginia. They did not name him or offer his rank. However, an official at Turkey's embassy in Washington said Turkish Navy Rear Admiral Mustafa Ugurlu had failed to report to authorities after Turkey issued a detention order for him last month. "On July 22, on that day he left his badges and his ID at the base and after that no one has heard anything from him," the official said, also...

One could say things about what is now without doubt the biggest company joke in the history of the US - maybe global - automotive sector, putting even East Germany's infamous Trabant to shame. Things like following the just announced latest recall of another 7.6 million cars across models from 1997 to 2014, and another 800K+ cars thrown in just because, GM has recalled more cars in the first 6 months of 2014 than it has sold in all of 2011, 2012 and 2013. Which incidentally would be true as the chart below shows.

Two videos are posted at Twitchy and GSL in which Angela Giron continues to reinforce why she was recalled in a recent Colorado effort. In an interview clip below, Giron blames the NRA for the Navy Yard shooting. Giron feels the NRA keeps trying to convince people—out of greed—that “more guns equals safety. And in this case in particular, we can look at, it was a Navy Yard. You couldn’t have any more armed people than in that case right there.” Apparently Giron is unaware that the Navy Yard was a gun-free zone thanks to Bill Clinton. Additionally, GatewayPundit reported...

WASHINGTON — Simplicity Inc., a supplier of baby furniture to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) and other big retailers, is recalling about 1 million Chinese-made baby cribs which have been linked to at least two infant deaths, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Friday. The drop-side can detach from the crib, which can create a dangerous gap that leads to an infant being trapped and suffocated, the safety agency said in a statement. It urged parents to check all Simplicity-made cribs to ensure the drop-side is installed correctly. The cribs, priced between $100 and $300, were sold by U.S. retailers...

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. (Dec. 1, 2005) -- Following the Corps’ recall of more than 10,000 protective vests in November, Marine Corps Systems Command officials are defending the decision to initially field them to leathernecks in combat. Headquarters Marine Corps ordered 10,342 Outer Tactical Vests pulled from the operating forces after media reports indicated some samples tested by the manufacturer and by the Army’s Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland failed to fully comply with ballistics standards. WASHINGTON, Nov. 18, 2005 – The Army and Marine Corps are recalling about 18,000 protective vests, but officials emphasize that troops wearing them aren't at risk and that the recall has nothing to do with ballistic plate protection. The recall, announced Nov. 17, affects 18,425 Outer Tactical Vests - 8,083 from the Army and 10,342 from the Marine Corps, defense officials said. Officials call the recall a precautionary measure, ordered because the 14 affected lots of vests may not have met contractual specifications regarding ballistic performance when they were produced and fielded between 1999 and 2001. An administrative review conducted...

DENVER -- A recall election is now set for an Estes Park, Colo., trustee who refuses to stand up and recite the Pledge of Allegiance during the Town Board meetings.I have not been standing for the Pledge of Allegiance due to a conflict I have with the wording of the pledge, specifically the words 'under God,'" Councilman David Habecker said.
