  • In its search for 'relevance', the Anglican Church is losing relevanc

Being cruel to Anglicans is about as low as kicking a puppy. The Anglican Church does a lot of good for a lot of people and its presence in British public life forces debates about politics and social policy to be a bit more reflective than they would otherwise be. It is also capable of profound beauty. Village churches are arks of Englishness: neatly stacked Books of Common Prayer, hard wooden pews, a perfume of human breath and burning wax, a Union Jack hung above a shrine to the fallen. I pray that the Church of England is never disestablished,...

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. … Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. View The Jonah Code & the 70 Weeks Prophecy of Daniel via Full Playlist as Yahshua the Messiah (AKA Jesus of Nazareth) declared that there would be only One Sign of his authenticity: "Three Days and Three Nights in the grave---and rising on the Third Day." Tragically, inherited ignorance of our Creator's reckoning of time, and mindless attachments to Pagan Traditions have left the Christian Church system seemingly unable to count to three!!! Join your host Biblical Scholar, Author, and TV Host Michael Rood as he exposes and corrects the fatal error in Western Christianity while unveiling mathematical proofs...

Faith Says Thank You! Today's Scripture “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever!” (1 Chronicles 16:34, AMP) Today's Word from Joel and Victoria What you dwell on is what you will draw into your life. We can either focus on our problems, or we can focus on our blessings. The question is: do you want more problems, or do you want more blessings? One thing I’ve noticed is that when you live with an attitude of constant gratitude, not only do you thank God for what He’s done in...

The Secret of Spiritual Consistency "God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ . . ." —Galatians 6:14 When a person is newly born again, he seems inconsistent due to his unrelated emotions and the state of the external things or circumstances in his life. The apostle Paul had a strong and steady underlying consistency in his life. Consequently, he could let his external life change without internal distress because he was rooted and grounded in God. Most of us are not consistent spiritually because we are more concerned about being consistent...

  • The half-life of DNA in bone:... [YEC takes a hit, DNA half-life only 521 years]

[If dinos walked with man, there should be dino DNA, however, there is not.] Claims of extreme survival of DNA have emphasized the need for reliable models of DNA degradation through time. By analysing mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from 158 radiocarbon-dated bones of the extinct New Zealand moa, we confirm empirically a long-hypothesized exponential decay relationship. The average DNA half-life within this geographically constrained fossil assemblage was estimated to be 521 years for a 242 bp mtDNA sequence, corresponding to a per nucleotide fragmentation rate (k) of 5.50 × 10–6 per year. With an effective burial temperature of 13.1°C, the rate...

Featured Term (selected at random):OMNIPRESENCE God being simultaneously wherever he is, since he is present everywhere. The divine omnipresence is twofold, by nature and by grace. By nature God is present in all things by essence, knowledge, and power. This is the presence of a cause in the things that share in God's goodness. By his essence, he is substantially in all things, including the created spiritual essences (angels, demons, human souls) as the immediate origin of their existence. by his knowledge, he exercises his wisdom directly in all creation down to the least details. By his power, he operates...

VietnamVietnam is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. The traditional religion of Vietnam is Buddhism, along with elements of Taoism, Confucianism and local ancestors’ cult.First martyrsPortuguese Dominican missionaries began to arrive in Vietnam in the early 16th century and there must have been conflict with local power groups from the very beginning. The mission had some success when the Jesuits joined the Dominicans. Among the earliest martyrs were Spanish Dominicans, Francisco Gil de Federich, who had a fruitful apostolate...

We, of all people, ought to know better. "Progress" gave us modern medicine, liberal democracy, the internet. It also gave us the guillotine, the Gulag and the gas chambers. Western intelligentsia assumed in the 1920s that "history" was moving away from the muddle and mess of democracy towards the brave new world of Russian communism. Many in 1930s Germany regarded Dietrich Bonhoeffer and his friends as on the wrong side of history. The strong point of postmodernity is that the big stories have let us down. And the biggest of all was the modernist myth of "progress". What is more,...

The Church of England will definitely have women bishops “in my lifetime”, claims Dr John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York. The second most powerful man in the church said that it was “very disappointing” it had not happened during this General Synod but he was sure the principle had been accepted. His comments came the day after the church tore up plans to ordain women as bishops despite overwhelming support in the parishes. After a tortuous 12-year legal process, which secured strong backing in all but two of the 44 dioceses, the move was denied final approval by just six votes....

Channel 4 offers a reflection today from a clergyman of the Anglican Church who quite openly states a complete and sincere disbelief in God. He is an atheist who considers the scriptures nothing more than human literature. What are we to make of him? Personally I find this sort of liberal wooliness in a clergyman not only absurd but frankly dishonest. What an affront to those who do believe, to the faithful in the pews whose giving pays his stipend! How does he stand at the altar with a straight face I wonder? Little surprise he opts to be filmed...
