  • (Vanity) Did Anyone Else Notice Obama Snub Hillary Last Night?

Maybe I haven't tuned into the right television channels or radio stations, but I haven't heard "the snub" discussed. I clearly saw Obama snub Hillary last night. Right after his speech, Obama was shaking hands with various pols who were standing close to Hillary. She was making serious eye contact with him and poised for her photo-op congratulating him. Just as it was about to be Hillary's turn, Obama abruptly turned his back on her and walked away to shake more hands. I thought it spoke volumes of his hatred of her. No doubt the feeling is mutual.

Barack and Michelle earn themselves a tempest in a Wedgwood teapot. Last week the Daily Mail reported that President and Mrs. Obama will not be among the 2,000 invited to Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, to attend the wedding of Prince William, the older son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. This news has caused the proverbial tempest in a teapot. How could this snub have come about? One might well ask, how could this snub not have come about? LetÂ’s take a brief stroll down memory lane, shall we? Not two weeks into his presidency, Mr. Obama...

  • 'Rude Man' Beaten, Pelted With Pasta

BOSTON -- A Roxbury man who apparently didn’t show enough chivalry was hit with a plate of pasta, punched, kicked and beaten with handbags by two women who told investigators they needed to “teach him a lesson” for not holding an elevator door for them, Boston police said. Kenyana McQuay, 27, and Waltia Funches, 28, told officers Mohammed Warsame “was rude to them” because he didn’t keep the elevator door open when it started to close on them.

Now the stereotype has been confirmed - by a French poll that completed the character assassination by labelling the capital's inhabitants "snobbish" and "self-regarding". "We find them to be hard working and cultivated," the political magazine Marianne said of Parisians in an editorial published alongside the survey. "But we consider them to be above all way too arrogant, aggressive, flirtatious, stressed, chauvinistic, snobbish, and self-regarding than other French people.

FEBRUARY 22--The overwhelming majority of New Jersey state employees are courteous, hard-working individuals eager to aid the public for whom they work. And then there is the small number of toll collectors employed by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority who regularly go rogue on motorists. On the following pages you'll find an entertaining selection of complaint letters sent to turnpike officials by motorists who ran into assorted trouble when trying to pay their way on the Garden State Parkway or the New Jersey Turnpike. More than 550 letters--covering the past 18 months and addressing a variety of types of complaints--were...

New York's famously garrulous senior senator, Chuck Schumer, got busted Wednesday for calling a female flight attendant the B-word aboard a US Airways flight from New York to Washington on Sunday. Schumer was sitting next to protege Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, gabbing away on his phone, when a flight attendant told him to shut it down. Schumer turned off his phone, and then argued with the attendant that he was allowed to talk while the cabin door is open. He lost.

PASSENGERS who have poor personal hygiene or kick seats have been voted the most disliked flyers in a new survey. A wide variety of annoying travel behaviour was detailed in US travel company Travelocity’s 2009 Rudeness Poll, which surveyed 1600 passengers on their pet peeves. The annoyances varied between the time of boarding the plane, during the flight and when departing. When boarding those surveyed were most annoyed by passengers who wrested with larger than allowed carry-on luggage. This was followed by people who crowded the boarding line, blocked the isle, stored their luggage carelessly or used overhead bins for small...

Most parents have experienced their young children getting restless when waiting for a meal in a restaurant. But not many get the bill at the end of it with a message describing their offspring as a 'little f*****'. This is what happened to parents Craig and Kimberley Cartin at a Mexican restaurant in Halifax, West Yorkshire, where they received the receipt which had 'Thanky you littell f*****' written on it. ... Fuming Craig, a 34-year-old administrator, said: 'I couldn't believe my eyes. The meal was indifferent anyway but to be abused on the bill is unbelievably offensive. 'I consider myself...

In a poll sponsored by Expedia.com, 4,500 international hotels were asked which country’s tourists were they least excited to see come through the lobby. The answer? Of course, the French. According to the responses, the French were seen as cheap, arrogant, and unwilling to speak the languages of the places they visited. Isn’t this how Barack Obama characterized Americans who traveled abroad, as knowing nothing more than “merci beaucoup”? A spokesman on French radio explained away the poor performance in the survey by saying that the country of France is so superior that few French ever feel the need to...

MOSCOW — If Paris is for lovers, it looks like Moscow is for families. After passing on dinner with the French president to go on a date in the City of Light with his wife last month, President Obama took leave of his Russian hosts on Tuesday night to seclude himself in his Moscow hotel with his wife, Michelle, and their daughters. The first family enjoyed a relaxed evening at the O2 Lounge, the super-chic, super-pricey rooftop club at the new Ritz-Carlton, although no doubt the Secret Service first cleared the place of most if not all of the swaggering...

Get Julia Roberts a bar of soap! At a Film Society of Lincoln Center event honoring Tom Hanks in NYC Monday, the Duplicity star, 41, dropped the F-bomb several times. "Alright well, it's late and I'm paying my babysitter overtime and I have to pee," she began. "So Tom, everybody f-----g likes you. All my bits are gone. Listen, I had lunch today with Rita [Wilson, Hanks' wife], and her t--s were here [motioned high] and her waist was here [motioned small] and her a-- was like that [motioned high], so what can I tell you that's new? Why couldn't President Obama have put on more of a show for his British guests? He looked like he simply couldn't be bothered. Number 10 may be content that they just about got away with the visit to the Oval Office yesterday, as Andrew Porter reports from Washington. But on this side of the Atlantic the whole business looked pretty demeaning. The morning papers and TV last night featured plenty of comment focused on the White House's very odd and, frankly, exceptionally rude treatment of a British PM. Squeezing in a meeting, denying him a full press conference with flags...

NEW YORK (Fortune) -- During the presidential campaign, Barack Obama tempered his pledge to substantially raise taxes for high earners with an important proviso: He'd simply restore rates to their levels during the Clinton Administration. The implication was that families in the upper brackets would see their total tax bite go back to the levels of the 1990s, but no higher. Now, it sure looks like Obama is reneging on that promise. The burden will indeed go far higher than in the Clinton years via a technicality -- one that will come as a rude shock even to the taxpayers...

(SPRINGFIELD, MO.) - While Joe Biden talks about the “big issues” the country is facing - the worsening economic crisis, the need for energy independence, the disappearing pensions for American workers – it’s also worth noting that he has changed his tone on Sarah Palin to one that borders on condescension and mockery. Prior to the debate, Biden said he “respected” Palin and limited his comments to saying “I don’t know much about her” when he spoke publicly. In Green Bay last month, Biden said, “Sarah Palin has made a couple really good political speeches, and she makes a very...
