By Moon Sung Hwee, from Jagang in 2006 [2008-09-24 18:10 ] Read in Korean Despite strong regulation by the North Korean authorities, rumors about Kim Jong Il’s illness spread quickly through the students who took part in the parade at the September 9 commemorative events for the founding of the North Korean regime. A source from North Hamkyung Province reported on Tuesday that “The story that the General (Kim Jong Il) had fallen down spread fast and widely among the college students who participated in the parade. They said that the General got...

This pastor spouts vicious rumors about Sarah Palin (affairs with other men), and trashes her family values for the situation of her pregnant daughter - all from the pulpit. Is this grounds for revocation of his tax-exempt status? It seems borderline in that he doesn't advocate for a specifc candidate...also, he is from the prosperity preacher cloth with a very questionable lifestyle himself: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/baltimore_city/bal-md.ci.bryant16feb16,0,756929,full.story

From Ace's site: Probably at about midnight or just before. It's Rusty's story. It'll be posted later. Midnight ET or maybe a bit after. The basics? Axelrod's astroturfing. An attempt to get a blatantly dishonest anti-Palin ad to go "viral" on YouTube. Gross deception in pumping out fake "amateur grassroots" ads which are really cooked up by a big PR firm strongly connected to David Axelrod and Obama's officially-acknowledged ads. And likely bright-line violations of electioneering laws, which require those putting out "electioneering communications" to disclose the true creator and sponsor of such ads. Oh, Yeah: I forgot to say:...

The Power of Political Misinformation By Shankar Vedantam Monday, September 15, 2008; A06 Have you seen the photo of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin brandishing a rifle while wearing a U.S. flag bikini? Have you read the e-mail saying Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama was sworn into the U.S. Senate with his hand placed on the Koran? Both are fabricated -- and are among the hottest pieces of misinformation in circulation. As the presidential campaign heats up, intense efforts are underway to debunk rumors and misinformation. Nearly all these efforts rest on the assumption that good information is the...

This report may be be breaking news of immense national political importance as a direct result of what the NEIN Blog has previously described as “The Palin Effect.” According to a an exclusive source close to the Northeast Intelligence Network, the possibility exists for a major change to the Democrat presidential campaign of Barack Obama. Our source, citing other highly reliable sources, states that Senator Joe Biden will withdraw as the Democrat Vice-Presidential candidate, possibly due to some imminent medical emergency. These sources go on to state that negotiations have occured between Barack Obama and Bill Clinton to replace Senator...

Yes, it did cost a lot of money. (People keep saying $20 million, that article says $14.5 million, but then they also added a $1.2 million dollar food service/kitchen piece. I just talked to an insurance adjuster in Minneapolis on the phone. During our discussion, the subject of the demonstrations there during the convention came up. She told me that the anarchist who was video taped smashing the large plate glass window was arrested, and found to be a 23 year old kintergarden teacher. I don't have the resources to verify this. Can anyone help me out?

I am starting to hear rumblings that Biden has “personal issues” that have to be dealt with. There is no word on what these issues might be – but it might require more attention than he can now give to these “issues” People familiar with this situation are beginning to speculate that Joe Biden might withdraw from the Democratic ticket as early as the middle of next week. Hillary insiders have indicated that Hillary is available to step into the vacant slot “for the good of the party.” There are trial balloons already being floated to party officials suggesting possible...

Pop legend Michael Jackson has been on a string of dates with Hollywood actress Pamela Anderson and the two have been secretly meeting in Malibu. According to a source, "It was all arranged by their people in total secrecy, very cloak and dagger. Michael is such a private person. He gets nervous when he thinks people are following him around, so he chose somewhere neutral for their first date. "They were very chatty. Pamela was being her usual flirty self and Michael seemed to be responding. They are such a strange couple but they seemed to really hit it off,"...

Not waiting to be elected, Obama has already started secret, unconditional talks with the islamic regime of Mullah iran behind America's back. By proxy. And has reached an agreement with them! Which partly explains why his advisor Tony Lake made his rather strange and very public statement to C-SPAN that his boss Obama wanted to go on record (again?) that the first order of priority when he was in the White House would be to start immediate - unconditional - talks with islamic Iran. We reported Tony Lake's remark but the news behind it has only just reached us in...

The Dutch intelligence service has pulled an agent out of an "ultra-secret operation" spying on Iran's military industry because spymasters in Netherlands believe a United States air attack was imminent. According to reports in the newspaper De Telegraaf, the country's intelligence service, the AIVD, has stopped an espionage operation aimed at infiltration and sabotage of the weapons industry in Iran. "The operation, described as extremely successful, was halted recently in connection with plans for an impending US air attack on Iran," said the report. "Targets would also be bombed which were connected with the Dutch espionage action." "Well placed" sources...

Gang, forgive me for posting a vanity note in here, but this is really bothering me and I'd like for some help in addressing it. The idiots and dummies (and we know who they are) are trying to ruin a young girl's life and spread lies about the entire Palin family. What can we do? I would love Gov. Palin to come out and talk about how this is what the Democrats have become. This is how power hungry they are and this is how they have lost all sense of right and wrong. This is the Obama base and...

MOSCOW, August 25 - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Monday sent a message of condolences to Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev in connection with the crash of a Boeing-737 plane at Bishkek’s international airport Manas, the Kremlin press service reported. The Boeing, belonging to Kyrgyz Itek Air carrier, was on a fight from Bishkek to Tehran. It took off from Manas at 18:30, Moscow time, on Sunday and several minutes later requested an emergency landing. However, it failed to reach the airport and went down five kilometres away from the landing strip, near the settlement of Dzhany-Dzher. According to official reports,...

NR has learned that the McCain campaign has been calling key state GOP officials around the country the last couple of days and sounding them out about the consequences of a pro-choice VP pick. The campaign is asking about the reaction of conservative grass-roots activists to such a pick and whether a pro-choicer can be sold to them. This is an indication that the McCain campaign is serious about the possibility of a pro-choice VP nominee and that McCain leaving the door open to Tom Ridge last week may not have been merely a friendly nod to a longtime supporter....

Hughs: Rumor mill fueled by Internet stories By Ina Hughs (Contact) Friday, July 11, 2008 Think about the Swift Boat campaign and what it did to John Kerry in 2004 and what rumors of a secret love child did to John McCain's bid for the White House in 2000. As a kid, we used to play a game called "gossip." We'd sit in a circle, and someone would whisper a sentence into the ear of the person next to her; that person would then whisper what she heard to the person next to her - and so on. By the...

Sen. John McCain will choose businessman and former Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney as Vice President, in his bid for the White House this November, a source closely connected with the McCain campaign, who asked to remain anonymous, told us earlier this afternoon. Though others were close in the running, the choice ultimately came down to the money–not the man. According to our source, the campaign narrowed their Vice Presidential options to Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney, the two most successful opponents of McCain in the bid for the Republican nomination. But despite Huckabee’s sway with far Right conservatives and evangelical...

To be an American is to be the best. Every American believes this. Their sports champions are not U.S. champions, they're world champions. Their corporations aren't the largest in the States, they're the largest on the planet. Their armies don't defend just America, they defend freedom. Like the perpetual little brother, Canadians have always lived in the shadow of our American neighbours. We mock them for their uncultured ways, their brash talk and their insularity, but it's always been the thin laughter of the insecure. After all, says University of Lethbridge sociologist Reginald Bibby, a leading tracker of social trends,...

Sometimes, this rumor of this alleged tape of Michelle Obama denouncing “whitey” sounds like something out of a clichéd political thriller novel. Actually, it sounds exactly like something out of a clichéd political thriller novel. Specifically, Stephen Frey’s The Power Broker, published in 2006 by Ballantine Books. A major plot line of the novel is the presidential campaign of Democrat Jesse Wood, aiming to be the country’s first African American president — “Wood was handsome, smart, charismatic, and being mentioned increasingly often in the press as someone who could unite a twenty-first century America growing more, not less, racially and...

An interesting tidbit now that Obama is the nominee and in light of Bush's congratulations today for Obama: ”Jan Schakowsky told me about a recent visit she had made to the White House with a congressional delegation. On her way out, she said, President Bush noticed her ‘Obama’ button. ‘He jumped back, almost literally,’ she said. ‘And I knew what he was thinking. So I reassured him it was Obama, with a 'b.' And I explained who he was. The President said, 'Well, I don't know him.' So I just said, 'You will.' " (New Yorker, 5/31/2004)

From what I understand, it is a tape of Michelle Obama criticizing the Bush administration. How you'd write it: Why did Bush cut folks off medicaid? Why did Bush let New Orleans drown? Why did Bush do nothing about Jena? Why did Bush put us in Iraq for no reason? How you'd say it: Why'd he cut folks off medicaid? Why'd he let New Orleans drown? Why'd he do nothing about Jena? Why'd he put us in Iraq for no reason? How Larry Johnson wants you to hear it: Whitie cut folks off medicaid? Whitie let New Orleans drown? Whitie...

According to a report floating around Capitol Hill, the Democratic House leadership may have made a deal with Republicans to get the FISA reform bill passed — with telecom immunity intact. Instead of bringing the bipartisan Senate deal to the floor in one piece, Nancy Pelosi will schedule votes on its component parts. Both will pass, but it will allow some members to cast nays against the immunity to protect themselves from the netroots activists opposed to the immunity: To break an impasse over legislation overhauling the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, House Democratic leaders are considering the option of taking...

Latest HOT HOT HOT Rumor From Friends/Fiends/Network News Sources – Hillary To Quit Senate As about 10 minutes ago, people are working this TOTALLY UNCONFIRMED rumor: Hillary will quit Senate. Reasons are multiple: 1. A desperation attempt to show voters she is willing to “put everything on the line" to devote all her time and energy to her quest for Presidency. 2. To do something, anything, to change the almost universal headlines about her imploding campaign. 3. Portray herself as a “victim” yet again. 4. She never had much power or respect in the Senate anyway. All her power stemmed...

But on Feb. 7, The News reported, based on statements from Western sources, that Gadahn was killed in the airstrike. Gadahn was believed to...

MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - A 15-year-old boy from the Urals suffered acute frostbite after riding the wing of a Boeing-737 plane on a two-hour flight from Perm to Moscow, Russian radio station Mayak reported on Monday. After clinging on for the entire 1300-kilometer (808-mile) flight to Vnukova Airport, the boy, named Andrei, collapsed onto the tarmac. His arms and legs were so severely frozen that rescuers were at first unable to remove his coat and shoes, the radio station said. The airport did not confirm the report. The former Tennessee senator and "Law and Order" actor made his comments on a show guest-hosted by another former Republican senator, Virginia's George Allen, on WRVA. Retired TV station owner and broadcast engineer, John Kanzius, wasn't looking for an answer to the energy crisis. He was looking for a cure for cancer. Four years ago, inspiration struck in the middle of the night. Kanzius decided to try using radio waves to kill the cancer cells. His wife Marianne heard the noise and found her husband inventing a radio frequency generator with her pie pans. "I got up immediately, and thought he had lost it." Here are the basics of John's idea: Radio-waves will heat certain metals. Tiny bits of certain metal are injected into a cancer...

NAFTA SUPERHIGHWAY | An urban myth or reality? Super suspicious foes The government denies any such plans, but campaign against it continues. By MATT STEARNS McClatchy Newspapers WASHINGTON | If the government really has a secret plan for a 12-lane road-and-rail NAFTA Superhighway that will split the heartland from Mexico to Canada, it is playing with a great poker face. “There is absolutely no U.S. government plan for a NAFTA Superhighway of any sort,” said David Bohigian, an assistant secretary of commerce. A commander in Iran's Revolutionary Guards said Wednesday that a commando unit has engraved the military organization's emblem into the side panel of an American warship stationed in the Persian Gulf. Nur Ali Shushkari, the head of the Revolutionary Guards ground forces, told Iranian pro-government news agencies that the symbol was etched onto the ship by the crew of a submarine that had managed to reach the U.S. vessel without detection by radar. Shushkari did not release specific details about the incident, but claimed that the operation proved that Iranian forces are following American fleet traffic in the region.

With all the speculation about John McCain's bid for the White House, there's been little discussion about what would happen to his U.S. Senate seat if McCain actually won the presidency. The talk among Democrats is that Gov. Janet Napolitano might be interested in the job. Turns out if McCain vacated the seat it would be up to Napolitano to appoint a replacement to finish out the term, which ends in 2010. He or she must be Republican. In a recent article, Roll Call, a Capitol Hill newspaper, speculated that Napolitano would pick one of her GOP supporters "to serve...
