Advertisers aren’t the only ones pulling their products from The Rush Limbaugh Radio Show. our editor recommends In the wake of host Rush Limbaugh’s attack on Georgetown student and birth control advocate Sandra Fluke, musician Peter Gabriel has moved to have his music withdrawn from the controversial program. After learning that his song “Sledgehammer” was played during Limbaugh’s rant, in which he called Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute,” a spokesperson for Gabriel released the following statement: "Peter was appalled to learn that his music was linked to Rush Limbaugh's extraordinary attack on Sandra Fluke. It is obvious from anyone...

As part of their 2012 battle strategy, the Left is busy spinning myth from fiction and pressuring advertisers to abandon the Rush Limbaugh show. Despite an apology from Limbaugh, AOL suspended advertising today, making it sponsor number eight to do so. What is now obvious is, this is not about civil discourse, as some would allege. One can find instance after instance of television and radio hosts on the Left making the same comment Rush did, and much worse, against Sarah Palin, Laura Ingraham and other conservative women, yet, there was no outrage from the Left then, supposedly in the...

On our Georgia, Ohio, and Tennessee Republican polls in addition to looking at the Presidential race we also polled on some of the issues that have been in the news over the last week: Rush Limbaugh and the reemergence of birtherism. SNIP Sheriff Joe Arpaio's press conference last week put the birther issue back in the news and our polling in these states finds that the birther contingent is still pretty strong within the Republican Party: -In Tennessee only 33% of GOP primary voters think Barack Obama was born in the United States, while 45% do not. -In Georgia 40%...

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Monday said Rush Limbaugh’s recent use of the word “slut” on his conservative radio show to describe a woman’s policy position “should be condemned by everyone.” “He’s an entertainer,” McCain said on CNN, acknowledging a defense used by some conservative bloggers. “But his remarks are totally unacceptable, totally and completely unacceptable. And there’s no place for it.”

The furor over Rush Limbaugh‘s controversial comments directed at Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke has lead to advertisers dropping his eponymous radio program. 12 advertisers, including Sleep Number, The Sleep Train, Quicken Loans, Legal Zoom, Citrix, Carbonite, ProFlowers, AOL, Bonobos, Sears, and Allstate Insurance have pulled ads from the program, and/or distanced themselves from the show, either permanently or temporarily, ThinkProgress’s Adam Peck reports. “Allstate’s advertising purchase strategy has not included the Rush Limbaugh Show,” the company wrote in a statement on their Facebook page. “Earlier today, we responded to inquiries about our advertising relationship with the show by...

Here is what Democrats want us to think: Republican candidates are going to take away your contraceptive pills; they are going to go on some jihad against you in the bedroom, and the only salvation is reelecting Barack Obama. First of all, Obama cannot run on his record. The last thing that he wants you to think about is what he has done while in office. He does not want you to think about Obamacare, because it has continued to remain unpopular, even to today. Now, they will continue to try to sell Obamacare is becoming more popular, but...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Yeah, I knew it was getting bad. I was watching the media on Saturday, and I said, "You know what? I gotta call myself and cancel and suspend the Two If By Tea advertising." So I called myself to cancel the advertising. I got a busy signal so I couldn't cancel my own company's advertising. So Two If By Tea remains a sponsor of the Rush Limbaugh program and the Excellence in Broadcasting Network. Great to have you here, folks, looking forward to talking with you today as the program unfolds before your very eyes and ears....

While Laura Ingraham waits for an encouraging call from the president to compensate for MSNBC’s Ed Schultz calling her a “slut,” “reproductive justice” activist Sandra Fluke rejects Rush Limbaugh’s sincere expression of regret for calling her the same: The Georgetown law student who drew an apology from Rush Limbaugh this weekend after the conservative radio host called her a “slut” on his show said that his public apology wasn’t sufficient during an appearance on ABC’s “The View” today.“I don’t think that a statement like this issued, saying that his choice of words was not the best, changes anything, and especially...

Rush Limbaugh is probably not sweating this one, folks. The critics keep piling on. But the immensely popular talk radio host has the biggest "sponsor" of all on his side: Clear Channel radio network. Arizona Sen. John McCain, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, and New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan are among the latest to criticize Limbaugh for calling a Georgetown University student a "slut" and a "prostitute" after she testified in favor of birth control insurance coverage. But Clear Channel's Premiere Radio Networks Inc., which hosts Limbaugh's conservative talk show, has voiced its unwavering support for Limbaugh, whose contract runs...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT The left, folks -- the media -- are giddy that some advertisers have said they're leaving the program. And I'm sorry to see 'em go. They have profited handsomely from you. These advertisers who have split the scene have done very well due to their access to you, my audience, from this program. To offer their products and services to you through this venue is the best opportunity that they have ever had to advertise their wares. Now they've been chosen to deny themselves that access, and that's a business decision, and it's theirs alone to make. They've...

Vox Communications, LLC has pulled Rush's program from AM 1420 WBEC in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Vox is based in vermont and has stations in Virginia, Massachusetts, and Texas. Please start listing radio stations in your area that have pulled Rush's program and if possible include their parent company information. I called the local radio station and they said that they were told by higher ups that the show is being pulled. Local stations were not given an official station. The parent company does not appear to have a website and you are can not leave then a voice message.

The Georgetown University law student labeled a "slut" by conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh says his apology changes nothing and that Americans have to decide whether to support companies that continue to advertise on his program. "I don't think that a statement like this issued, saying that his choice of words was not the best, changes anything, and especially when that statement is issued when he's under significant pressure from his sponsors who have begun to pull their support," Sandra Fluke told ABC’s "The View” on Monday. • Rush Limbaugh’s Apology: Saving Conservative Line on Obamacare?

Limbaugh’s career and radio show aren’t in danger. But his professed contrition might help salvage conservatives’ most effective line of attack against Obamacare. Left-leaning pundits and activists who cackle gleefully at the prospect that current controversies will seriously damage Rush Limbaugh’s media career display their own vast ignorance of the talk-radio industry. Yes, El Rushbo’s weekend apology for crude comments about Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke demonstrate his own recognition that these remarks fell far short of the “broadcast excellence” he regularly promises his 15 million listeners. But neither uproar from all quarters against Limbaugh’s language, nor the much-publicized phone...

Fluke has been called a slut. Not only for sleeping herself through law school, but for pimping herself off as some kind of “reproductive rights” expert. But today I received an email from someone who claims to be from Georgetown stating that Sandra Fluke really isn’t who she says she is. That is heterosexual, and that she is in fact gay. I have no idea if the email is real or fake. I don’t care if she’s gay or not. Having family members who are gay I’m not homophobic. The email headers check out and it appears legit. The writer...
