San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders issued the order after a sewage spill dumped over 3 million gallons of sewage into the Los Penasquitos Lagoon and the Sweetwater River. Precautionary boil-water orders were issued for the following areas: Otay Mesa, Redwood Village(in College area), Tierrasanta, San Carlos, La Jolla, Bernardo Heights and Scripps Ranch.
