She became the face for the pro-abortion movement during the 2012 elections and the laughingstock of pro-lifers for her relentless push to force Americans to pay for her birth control. College student Sandra Fluke has been nominated as a potential Person of the Year by Time Magazine. Fluke is apparently unable to figure out how to purchase low-cost birth control from places like Target, Wal-Mart or her local pharmacy. Still, Time magazine felt she was qualified enough to include her with legitimate newsmakers and leaders who are significantly more deserving of the award and recognition.

Every so often, I share breakthrough stories about advances in “human rights” around the world. In France, it is against the law to say your husband is under-endowed or that your wife is fat. Across Europe, a satellite dish is now a human right. In Finland, broadband access is a basic right. There’s now an entitlement for free soccer broadcasts in Europe. In Italy, you have the right to…um…your testicles. Now, in honor of Sandra Fluke, the United Nations has decided that contraception is a human right. Not just a human right, a universal human right. The New York Times...

The American Left used to champion free expression. We were lectured -- correctly -- that the price of being repulsed by occasional crude talk and art was worth paying. Only that way could Americans ensure our daily right to criticize those with greater power and influence whom we found wrong and objectionable. When 1950s comedian Lenny Bruce titillated his audiences with the F-word and crude sex talk, liberals came to his defense. They reminded us that vulgar speech is not a crime: The First Amendment was not just designed to protect uplifting expression, but also rarer blasphemous and indecent speech....

Now it's getting REALLY dirty: "Outrageous" film claiming Obama's mother once posed for pornographic pictures is sent to a MILLION swing voters - The film claims that Mr Obama's real father is left wing poet and Communist party activist, Frank Marshall Davis - 100,000 copies of the DVD, containing extraordinary claims, have already been mailed to voters in Ohio with up to three million more planned to go out - As Mitt Romney lags in the polls the material could be potentially damaging for the Obama campaign - It has already won the support of Alabama's Republican Party chairman Bill...

Catholics are a key demographic in the upcoming election. In fact, they may be the key demographic. In most every presidential contest since the end of World War II, the candidate who carried the Catholic vote won the election. Over time they have, as a bloc, become more conservative and more Republican in their voting patterns (they were once a major component of the Democrats' presidential coalition) as concerns over settled issues like the morality of abortion overtook in importance concerns about unsettled issues like the best way to secure social justice for the poor and the downtrodden.Much has...

Sandra Fluke’s America: War on women, by whom? by Daniel Clark At the three-day abortion festival also known as the Democratic National Convention, that party’s celebrity victim du jour, Sandra Fluke, echoed the famous “Robert Bork’s America” speech that was once given by that founding member of Neanderthals For Choice, Ted Kennedy. Fluke’s vision of a Republican-led American future was briefly stated, but nevertheless riddled with lies (“an America in which access to birth control is controlled by people who will never use it”), bigger lies (“in which politicians redefine rape so survivors are victimized all over again”), and dog-whistle...

Sandra Fluke's claim to fame, aside from provoking Rush Limbaugh's misogynistic ire, is that she chose to attend Georgetown Law School, knowing full well that the Catholic university's student health plan did not cover birth control, and then demanded that the policy be changed, under force of law, as a matter of "reproductive justice." Although Fluke could have picked a different school, she told The Washington Post last February, "I decided I was absolutely not willing to compromise the quality of my education in exchange for my health care." Fluke's sense of entitlement and her casual resort to the use...

Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) spoke to a crowd in Addison, IL, today and leveled an attack on Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown Law student who has been an outspoken advocate for no-cost birth control for women. Walsh even said that it's "embarrassing" that women like Fluke feel "entitled" to no-cost birth control.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel took time off from the busy job standing idle while an alarming number of shootings plague his city to come and party for the week. Were he to have an R after his name, the media would’ve crucified him. But he doesn’t, so let the good times roll. Lilly Ledbetter, self-appointed champion of equal pay for women, took to the stage to extoll the virtues of the Obama administration … which pays women in the White House significantly less than male employees. The irony went both unnoticed by the crowd and unmentioned by the media. Nancy...

Attorney and women’s health advocate Sandra Fluke addressed the Democratic convention on Wednesday, speaking of “two profoundly different futures,” one in which, she asserted, should Mitt Romney be elected, “birth control is controlled by people who will never use it [and] will redefine ‘rape,’” or the reelection of President Obama, “a man who thinks of his daughters, not his delegates.” Rachel Maddow on MSNBC said that the Democrats had juggled the convention schedule so that Fluke would appear during the 10 p.m. network-news hour. But, amazingly, ABC and CBS did not carry Fluke’s speech live. -SNIP- Last week, in that...

It’s been quite a year for Georgetown University Law graduate Sandra Fluke, who fell into the spotlight after conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh called her a “slut” in February. The 31-year-old also spoke at the DNC this week, and Rep. Joe Walsh is not impressed. The Republican politician said during a Saturday campaign stop that Fluke needs to just “get a job” already. --snip-- “So at the Democratic Convention Wednesday night their first prime time speaker was Sandra Fluke, whatever her name is. Think about this, a 31-32 year old law student who has been a student for life, who gets...

According to a new poll by The Hill newspaper in Washington, D.C., 54 percent of likely voters believe President Obama does not deserve another term based on his economic record. With rising gas prices once again punishing working Americans and with fear in the air over unemployment, there is a very good chance that Obama will join Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush as a one-term president. And if Obama goes down, so does the liberal movement in America, which has made great strides over the past three and a half years. Consider the following developments: --Gay marriage is now...

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Hide your children. This is what the progressive left's idea of women's empowerment looks like: For the past two weeks, radical feminists from the group Code Pink have paraded across the fruited plain in giant female reproductive organ costumes. The goal is "respect" for women's bodies and women's abortion rights. It's part of the coordinated campaign to fight the right's purported "war on women." The Vagina Puppets' Democratic Party sympathizers, from professional birth control freeloader Sandra Fluke to first lady Michelle Obama, dog-whistled the same messages of "choice" and "freedom" from the convention stage. "We are ......

Convention: Having yanked religious liberty and Israel from the platform, the boos greeting their reinstatement showed the true colors of a Democratic party and president hostile to both. In politics there are no do-overs. The pathetic sight of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the convention chairman, repeatedly calling for a voice vote amid a chorus of boos on a motion to restore deleted references to God and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, was certainly, as they say, bad optics. The party of "Yes, We Can" said "No, We Won't" to defending a faithful ally and adhering to the national...

In an academic article published last year, contraception advocate Sandra Fluke made the case that private health insurers should be required to pay for sex change operations. Fluke has become a vocal surrogate of the Democratic Party and is scheduled to address the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Wednesday night. On Tuesday afternoon she appeared at a Planned Parenthood “Yes We Plan” rally outside the convention venue, where condoms in anti-Republican packaging were distributed. She thrust herself into the media spotlight in February when she told the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee that many of her Georgetown Law...
