Foster Friess, the retired investor who spent nearly $1.7 million boosting Rick Santorum’s presidential run, is ready to help Mitt Romney. “I’m obviously going to be of help in whatever way I can,” Friess told POLITICO Tuesday afternoon, hours after Santorum suspended his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination, cementing Romney’s status as the party’s presumptive nominee. Friess, who was in Washington to accept an award from the Horatio Alger Association, said he had yet to discuss his planned shift in allegiance with Romney’s campaign campaign or the Washington-based super PAC supporting it.

Rick Santorum fought hard, he fought well, and he gave voice to a large contingent of grass-roots conservative activists across the country who wanted a candidate who lived the values he preached. He held Mitt Romney’s feet to the fire on health care, challenged Newt Gingrich’s green flirtations and past support for the individual mandate, and took on Ron Paul’s foreign policy extremism. His presence improved everyone else’s game — and that will serve the GOP ticket well this fall, whoever ends up on it.

The Romney campaign’s phony delegate counts and establishment Republican calls for Rick Santorum to end his campaign, and allow Mitt Romney to claim the Republican presidential nomination without a majority of the delegates, expose the fatal weakness of the case for the Romney nomination. Romney is far from having a commanding lead in delegates, and Romney is not “over half way there” as his camp and their establishment GOP allies claim. If the Republican National Committee rules are correctly applied, and the delegates elected by local caucuses in states the mainstream media has stopped following are allocated, Romney has more...

Rick Santorum boasts that his deep conservative values make him a stronger challenger against President Barack Obama this fall than likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney. It's an argument he is making in his home state of Pennsylvania, where a primary victory in two weeks is critical to a campaign already seen by many as all but hopeless. Yet Santorum showed a considerably more moderate face in a campaign brochure from his failed 2006 Senate race in Pennsylvania. It highlighted how he steered big federal dollars to the state and teamed with rock star Bono to fight AIDS and global poverty....

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel Obama and Romney won't state this basic fact There is, sadly, a huge divide between the Obama administration’s position and that of the government of Israel with regard to Jerusalem. For thousands of years, at the end of the Passover Seder as well as at the end of Yom Kippur, Jews around the world conclude their holiday by reciting, “Next Year in Jerusalem.” To Jews, Jerusalem is the holiest city, and has the holiest site, the Temple Mount, which includes the Western Wall. Don’t be surprised if the county-by-county map of today’s Republican primary for President looks exactly like the one for the GOP primary for governor two years ago. Mark Neumann, who is also running for the U.S. Senate this year, won 42 of the state’s 72 counties. Just judging by visual appearances, Neumann did quite well. But of course, those maps only mean something if deer and trees could vote. Since they don’t, the only thing that matters is votes of real people. And in the Republican Party, most of those persons live in southeastern Wisconsin, specifically the three-counties of Waukesha,...

Favorite Son Rick Santorum leads former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney 41 - 35 percent among likely voters in Pennsylvania's Republican presidential primary, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Texas U.S. Rep. Ron Paul has 10 percent, with 7 percent for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. With three weeks before the primary, 6 percent of likely voters remain undecided and 37 percent of those who name a candidate say they still could change their mind, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds. This is the first look at likely voters and cannot be compared with earlier surveys of registered...

So many (Ryan, Rubio, GHWB, etc) have come forward recently to endorse Romney to be the standard-bearer for the GOP. But curiously missing is GWB... Secondly, Bill Clinton has said very recently that he will soon hold fund-raisers and even stump? for Obama. So where is 43 at - and very recently at that? Pro-Romney forces have said that it is time to quickly rally around the front-runner (Romney). If so, then what better way than for perhaps Romney, Ryan, Rubio, etc, to get or seek Bush 43 to quickly endorse Romney, stump for him and hold fund-raisers for Romney?...

In many ways, the story of the 2012 Republican primary has been the inability of Mitt Romney to win over more than a third of self-identified “strong Tea Party supporters” or “very conservative” voters. If he had received the support of those voters, even a slim majority of them, the race would almost certainly have been over weeks ago. Where Romney hasn’t yet succeeded with most grassroots conservatives and Tea Partiers, he’s had remarkable success in the past two weeks gaining the support of their leaders... It would seem, then, that everyone associated with Romney’s campaign would avoid saying anything...
