PolitiFact's Lie of the Year: 'Death panels' (*yawn*)

Of all the falsehoods and distortions in the political discourse this year, one stood out from the rest. "Death panels." The claim set political debate afire when it was made in August, raising issues from the role of government in health care to the bounds of acceptable political discussion. In a nod to the way technology has transformed politics, the statement wasn't made in an interview or a television ad. Sarah Palin posted it on her Facebook page. Her assertion — that the government would set up boards to determine whether seniors and the disabled were worthy of care —...

Surprises Abound in Sarah Palin’s "Going Rogue"

I picked up Going Rogue at Target a couple of weeks ago. It has a number of surprises, some pleasant, some just startling. It tends to confirm my belief that Sarah Palin, while perhaps not qualified to be president or vice president last year, was certainly more qualified than McCain, Obama, or Biden. My biggest surprise was that Going Rogue was apparently not “ghostwritten.” In a few places, I noticed sentences with “I” instead of “me” for the direct object — a mistake that a professional writer wouldn’t make. There is also a bit more use of “I” (at least,...

Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue #3 In Heterophobic San Francisco Despite Ban

Liberal booksellers have banned Sarah Palin's book "Going Rogue" and refuse to carry it. They are retarded. I thought Liberals were against banning books. This is anti-free speech. The public in San Francisco demand the book, though, as it is #3 on the San Francisco bestseller list by being sold at Costco in San Francisco (among other stores).

Sarah Palin's daughter seeks full custody of baby

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- An Alaska judge's ruling has revealed a heated legal custody battle between Sarah Palin's daughter and the father of Palin's grandson. A November request by 18-year-old Bristol Palin keep the proceedings closed was denied Christmas Eve. Her Nov. 3 petition for sole custody and child support also seeks a visitation schedule for Levi Johnston, the father of 1-year-old Tripp. Bristol says her ex-fiance has exercised "sporadic visitation rights." The 19-year-old Johnston denies in court documents that he has avoided his responsibilities. He is seeking shared custody.

Todd and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! The Palin family is blessed to all be together among family and friends this Holiday – and that is one of the greatest gifts of all. But while this is a beautiful time of the year for families and friends around the world, we recognize that it is a difficult time of the year for so many others – especially this year. May we remember all those who are lonely or in need on this blessed night, and please join us in saying a special prayer for those away...

The Palin Palimpsest

Sarah Palin is an authentic American phenomenon. She resonates with a majority of the American people as authentic -- because she is authentic. She is a no-BS, stand-for-the-truth, take-a-licking-and-keep-on-ticking kind of gal. In other words, she is not like the ordinary, everyday, go-along-to-get-along professional politicians who control our national political parties. And it is precisely for that reason that she can now spearhead an American political renaissance. Our nation has been buried for decades under political pabulum. The Democrats pretend to represent average Americans, but they are controlled by wealthy elitists who pay lip service to American values while propagating...

Sarah Palin Divides The GOP Elite (elitists take a poll)

Sarah Palin may draw ecstatic crowds in "real America," but among Republican insiders in Washington, she's not so popular. National Journal's annual Insiders Poll issue will come out Friday, but we've got some early results; the most interesting finding is how many GOP insiders and members of Congress listed Palin as one of their least favorite members of the party. Palin was the top response when 85 GOP strategists and insiders were asked, "Which voice in your party would you most like to mute?" 28 percent listed Palin; Republican National Committee Chairman Michael came in second, with 12 percent.
Sarah Palin who shook up the 2008 U.S. election when she was picked to be the vice-presidential candidate by John McCain, is to attend a fundraiser for two Hamilton, Ontario hospitals on April 15. Gabe Macaluso, a member of the committee organizing the dinner at Carmen's Banquet Centre, said: "This is quite the coup. She's one of the hottest speakers on the Speakers Bureau. The demand is huge." The former Alaska governor recently joined the Washington Speakers Bureau, which represents former president George W. Bush.
WASHINGTON – An AOL poll shows 67 percent of users supporting questions about Barack Obama's eligibility to serve as president. Despite the online poll's appearance within the context of a highly opinionated column by Steve Pendlebury slanted against Sarah Palin's recent remarks on Rusty Humphries radio talk show, more than two-thirds of some 82,000 taking the survey indicated support for her position.
Sarah Palin, anti-abortion star

In the months since she returned to the public spotlight, Sarah Palin’s continually evolving political identity has undergone a subtle change as her public persona centers increasingly on her disabled son, Trig. Palin began her political career as a reformer breaking up Alaska’s corrupt boys club and shifted seamlessly into last fall’s campaign trail culture warrior. But her decision to carry to term her Down syndrome child established a special relationship with anti-abortion activists, and now Palin has transformed herself from a politician who was anti-abortion into the leading figure of the anti-abortion movement. Since she resigned the Alaska governorship....

In 'Going Rogue,' Sarah Palin has given us an attempt to reintroduce her to America, and what an introduction it is. She outlines her life and career, helping to explain how she became the wonderful person she is today. The real meat ot the book for me was Sarah's account of the political and personal relationships that developed during her time as governor of Alaska and Republican Vice Persidential candidate in 2008. She shows how her enemies - both Democrat and Republican - relentlessly attacked her with false charges, hindering her campaign for Vice President and her ability to govern...

The subtitle "an American Life" describes the book perfectly. As I read the book I kept noticing similarities to people I have known. Sometimes I was reminded of Grandma Smith, from rural Tennessee. Sometimes Sarah sounded like my sister. A couple times I was reminded of Prime Minister Thatcher. I believe most of Sarah's fans see important people in their lives reflected in this wonderful story. Sarah, you magnificent patriot, I read your book!
Why tea party patriots should support Sarah Palin should she decide to run

She's a God, Country, Family, small government, no nonsense traditional Christian conservative. She's an outsider not corrupted by business as usual Washington politics. They hate her. She's pro defense. An army mom. She's pro-gun. Hunts, fishes and enjoys the great outdoors. She eats corrupt office holders and wasteful spenders for lunch. She drills for oil. She's a fighter. A winner! She's the exact opposite to Obama in all respects. She's an American patriot!
