Attorney General Eric Holder began his tenure by calling Americans cowards regarding racial issues. Newly released documents reveal that Holder’s schedule shows a preoccupation with racial issues: he spends an inordinate amount of time meeting with race-centered organizations. Recently, the Department of Justice began making Holder’s daily schedules available online. Although the schedules are far from complete and heavily redacted, the compiled summary below (links to documents provided) shows how much time and access the office of the attorney general allocates to ethnocentric lobbyists and race-based associations. For 2009, Holder’s first year as AG, over just a nine-month period (the...

Health care schedule setLyle Denniston - Reporter Posted Thu, December 8th, 2011 5:25 pm The Supreme Court on Thursday spelled out a schedule for filing of written arguments in the three cases on the constitutionality of the new federal health care law. The period for filing opens 0n January 6 and runs through March 13. WASHINGTON – The White House on Monday rejected charges that President Obama is traveling on the taxpayer dime to campaign in swing states more frequently than any of his predecessors, saying a new study doesn't take into account that Obama "expanded the political map dramatically" in 2008 so that states not previously considered battlegrounds now are. White House spokesman Jay Carney argued that a Wall Street Journal study that showed Obama has attended 54 events in 11 battleground states over 42 days between Jan.1 and Nov. 17, 2011,

Herman Cain wins the Florida straw poll, and, all of a sudden, his dance card is full. Next week will be a particularly busy one for the candidate. He’ll meet Monday with the Donald, only the third out-and-out candidate to do so. (Rick Perry met with him earlier this year and Mitt’s meeting with him today.) Why that should matter, I’m not quite sure, except that Donald Trump is adept at stirring media attention and also, just like Sarah Palin, must at all costs be dissuaded from a third-party run (which has always been a remote possibility for Trump, but a...

According to the White House, the President doesn't work all that much. During the month of May, which included 21 working days, President Obama claims he worked about 92 hours (91.95 to be exact). That's according to the White House schedule, posted on the whitehouse.gov Website. That equates to an exhausting 4.4 hours per day. Excluding his grueling G8 summit travels during the week of May 23 (when he was forced to endure eight hour work days!), Mr. Obama worked an average of 3.25 hours per day when at the White House in May. Indeed, the President's schedule is so...

The publication of classified documents related to the Afghan War has put the lives of US troops and native Afghans who have assisted them in danger. US Defense Secretary Robert Gates fears the leak may cause huge damage. Embedded in the documents were names and places that could be used by al-Qaeda or the Taliban to carry out reprisals against specific individuals or towns. Wikileaks spokesman, Julian Assange said he contacted the Obama Administration prior to publishing the documents. “We wanted to give them the opportunity to redact content that would endanger anyone’s life,” Assange recalled. “After getting no response...

WASHINGTON, March 10, 2010 – As parliamentary election results are tallied in Iraq, a U.S. commander there said it’s unlikely any outcome would require American troops to stay beyond their scheduled withdrawal. Polling this week has been characterized by military officials as a “historic” moment for Iraq that, barring a catastrophic event, paves the way for the drawdown of U.S. forces from 98,000 to 50,000 before September. Asked in a news conference today if a potential balloting result exists that could change the pace of U.S. withdrawal, Army Maj. Gen. Terry A. Wolff, commander of U.S. Division Central told Pentagon...

BARCELONA (Reuters) – A company behind plans to open the first hotel in space says it is on target to accept its first paying guests in 2012 despite critics questioning the investment and time frame for the multi-billion dollar project. During their stay, guests would see the sun rise 15 times a day and travel around the world every 80 minutes. They...

DANA POINT, Calif. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers get their opening-night showcase as Super Bowl champions. The oldest rivalry in football has a first-week renewal in prime time. An old AFL-style doubleheader closes out the weekend. No schedules. No mandatory meetings. Inside Best Buy's radical reshaping of the workplace --- At most companies, going AWOL during daylight hours would be grounds for a pink slip. Not at Best Buy. The nation's leading electronics retailer has embarked on a radical--if risky--experiment to transform a culture once known for killer hours and herd-riding bosses. The endeavor, called ROWE, for "results-only work environment," seeks to demolish decades-old business dogma that equates physical presence with productivity. The goal at Best Buy is to judge performance on output instead of hours. Hence workers pulling into the company's amenity-packed headquarters at 2...

I just ran across this page from DirecTV, outlining their "upgrading" to XM over Music Choice. I must say, i am disappointed. i see little tanjible content difference, other than *2* talk channels: one sports channel, and one comedy disc jocky show... No FNC Radio, no OTR channel, no other talk channels... not even PBS or NPR... I *did* see some commercials on FNC, saying that it would be starting on XM in mid January.. But it made no mention of DirecTV. http://www.directv.com/see/landing/xm.html For me...this works out to be a non event..if this is all there is.

A plan to shuffle the 2008 Democratic presidential calendar -- placing several states between the traditional Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary -- is gaining momentum on a commission studying the party's nominating process. A consensus is developing to recommend scheduling nominating contests in two or possibly three states in the days between Iowa and New Hampshire, according to some members of a Democratic National Committee panel looking at ways to revamp the nominating schedule. The commission is to make a final recommendation to the DNC at its Dec. 10 meeting. If such a recommendation were adopted, it likely...

It's always shocking when the left unmasks itself — it's usually very brief but when it happens not only can't you turn away, it's actually important that you don't. While it would seem impossible, the left has found a new low, this time courtesy of both the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. On the same day, both newspapers published bizarre attacks on the most basic values of personal appearance and physical health of the president and those he supports. It's the newest indication of how frustrated and frenzied the left has grown in the face of an America...

Does anyone have any idea about what a typical day for the President looks like? I'm writing a story about a fictional President, and I'm trying to figure out what a "normal" day for a President would consist of. Specifics would be nice (meetings, with who, how much time off, eating, etc.) but content is not necessary, since I'm really just looking for a generic day. I have some idea, mostly from West Wing, Tom Clancy, and a great interactive site from the Ford Library about a day in the life, but I figure at least some things would change...

Tokyo -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said in an interview today that he will make public his daily schedule, a move that open government advocates say will provide an unprecedented look at how his administration determines public policy. The governor said he will release a complete calendar of his first year in office, including whom he met with. His comments came just days after voters approved Proposition 59, which seeks to strengthen open records laws and follows a formal request by a media law group to make his calendar public. Schwarzenegger said the decision was in keeping with a campaign pledge...

In defense of Lt. Bush By Charles D. Youree, Jr. President Bush's military service is being unjustly vilified. I feel a sense of anger and frustration when I hear that instead of volunteering for Vietnam, Mr. Bush "hid out" flying fighter/interceptor jets in the Air National Guard (ANG) for four years. As a former Air Force pilot with 6,000 hours of flying time, including more than 3,000 hours in jet fighters, I know that whenever you strapped yourself into a jet fighter and took off, you were in harm's way. Your life was on the line. As fighter pilots, we...
