  • Brian Williams: TSA Gropped Me

In the last quarter of 2010, we heard plenty of horror stories about folks being "groped" as they went through airport security (remember the "don't touch my junk" guy?). Being a network news anchor doesn't allow one any special exemptions, apparently. NBC's Brian Williams was a guest on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" Monday and confessed: I've been groped. You can watch a video of Williams on Letterman HERE.

President Barack Obama’s job approval rating continues hovering around 45 percent, but he once again is the country’s “most admired” man, according a USA Today-Gallup poll. Obama was named by 22 percent of respondents, followed by George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, at 5 percent and 4 percent. So while Obama’s hardly riding high in job approval, he’s got a solid core of admirers.

New York’s dumbest at their worse! ***WARNING, GRAPHIC LANGUAGE!*** From this gentleman’s window, he sees snow clearing efforts go really, really wrong. From the person who upload the video to YouTube:”City workers destroy a Ford Explorer trying to free a snowbound front-loader in Brooklyn Heights, New York after the storm of 2010. The crazy thing here….the vehicle WAS….wait for it….A NYC Dept of Buildings city owned vehicle. I went down, I know the owner, they are aware of the video and no police ever came. Hope that answers a lot of questions. Obviously some comments here in response are from...

After waiting in the TSA line in the airport, going through the detector, getting wanded and patted down, I figured out a way to speed things up considerably. The TSA man said it would have been much quicker if they had been informed that I had a hip replacement, but I told him the prosthetic card my surgeon had given me didn't seem to provide any help when I used it before. The TSA website,(http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds), states, "All disability-related equipment, aids, and devices continue to be allowed through security checkpoints once cleared through screening. Additionally, we are continuing to permit prescription...

Adrienne Durso of Carlsbad, California is suing the TSA for an overly invasive pat down. That pat down, she says, included a female agent groping her breasts and admitting to her son later that he wasn’t searched because “you don’t have boobs.” Durso, who has had a mastectomy, says she was humiliated and told KOB-TV, “I felt as though I didn’t have any rights”: She says she knew her rights had been violated so she asked to speak to a supervisor who she thought would help. All the while her son stood by her side and couldn’t remain silent anymore...

A Baltimore man was arrested Tuesday for plotting to blow up a military recruitment center, authorities said. The man was caught in a sting operation and was plotting to blow up an Armed Forces recruiting station in Catonsville with what he believed to be a vehicle bomb, the U.S. Attorney's Office for Maryland said in a statement. "There was no actual danger to the public as the explosives were inert and the suspect had been carefully monitored by law enforcement for months," the statement said. There was no evidence the plot was linked to recent shootings at military installations in...

Authorities say an individual has been arrested in the Baltimore area for plotting to blow up a military recruitment center. Marcia Murphy, a spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney's office in Baltimore, confirms to The Associated Press that an arrest has been made and says the individual will appear in court Wednesday afternoon. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Baltimore, a man in that city was arrested this morning in connection with a plot to attack an Armed Forces recruitment station in Catonsville, Md., with what he believed to be a vehicle bomb. There was no actual danger to the...

Is using a forged Social Security Number -- but your own name -- to obtain employment or buy a car an identity theft crime? Lately, U.S. courts are saying it's not. The most recent judicial body to take on the issue, the Colorado Supreme Court, ruled last month that a man who used his real name but someone else's Social Security number to obtain a car loan was not guilty of "criminal impersonation," overturning convictions by lower courts. That follows a ruling last year by the U.S. Supreme Court that a Mexican man who gave a false SSN to get...

Whither next, TSA? All Americans need to be asking TSA...and themselves... that very question. First it was hand checking of carry-on baggage, then metal detectors and X-rays of bags in response to a spate of skyjackings in the 60's and 70's. Even with these excellent security checks, 9/11 happened. Surely security was the blame! After all, it could not have been the fault of our intelligence services failing to pick up a plot involving dozens of jihadists around the world. The answer we were offered by our government was increasingly strict security measures, because they were "necessary for our security."...

Over 30 years ago, as a young lad, I volumtarily swore an oath to "defend the US against all enemies, both foriegn and domestic". At the time, I initially walked out of the swearing in ceremony since I hadn't read the oath I was about to swear . I demanded that my Navy recruiter provide me a complete copy to review before I went back into the room for the "repeat after me". Yes, I was a pain in the A$$ even as a yute....

Anyone who has visited a fast food joint, a doctor’s office or a hospital has watched as workers change gloves between servings or exams. And if they don’t, the customer/patient would surely say something. How often do the TSA agents doing the “enhanced pat-downs” change gloves? And would most cowed flyers who just want to make it through security and advance to their gate ask them to do so? Or would passengers fear that such a request would invite more enhanced scrutiny?

  • Let's Talk - Are Politically Correct "search" procedures Unreasonable Search?

    11/14/2010 7:28:07 PM PST · by BereanBrain · 38 replies
Ok, so the government wants to "search" everybody, very intrusively (backscatter Xray, "feeling up" pat downs), INSTEAD of searching the PROFILE of the sort of people who are the terrorists. So, if you are looking for example for fish, why would you search on the land? It would be unreasonable....Yes, fish can be found out of water, but most of them are swimming in water as we speak......So it would NOT be reasonable to put as much emphasis on looking on land as you do water. So THIS is the DEFINITION of UNREASONABLE search - it's not reasonable to search...

Ever since Google unveiled its new search function, hackers have been compiling a list of banned words, including Latina and “meats.” Brian Ries talks to some of the blacklisted. Somewhere hidden deep within Google’s massive cache of servers, there is a blacklist unlike any other. For starters, it contains enough sexually suggestive terms to make any 15-year-old boy’s head explode. But there are also some unexpected words, like, say, Latina. And hidden from public view, the official version will never see the light of day. But over the past few weeks, a group of hackers in New York City has...
