Bucs' wide receiver Vincent Jackson is a well-known supporter of deployed troops and military families, particularly through his "Jackson in Action 83" Foundation. He extended that charitable reach even further on Monday night by inviting 400 military members and their families to the Tampa Bay Lightning game on his dime. Jackson, who was acting as the Bolts' "Social Captain" of the evening, purchased 400 tickets and donated them all to military members for the second year in a row. Supporting the troops is a mission dear to Jackson's heart as both of his parents served in the Armed Forces.

Well it’s clear from president Obama’s State of the Union poetry that we’ve reached the terminal phase of the old deal that’s been foisted on us, also known as the New Deal. Back when the world was young president Kennedy told us that it was time for a new generation of leaders, “tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage--and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed…. who have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour...

HELP!! SOMEONE STOLE FROM THE TROOPS! Friends, we have some tough news to break. As horrible as it sounds, there are people out there who are willing to steal from the troops. Last night, just before a big shipment was planned to go out, some criminal broke the lock to the location where we were storing about 400 care packages. The thieves didn't take them all, but they stole about $5,000 worth of packages that were meant for the troops in Afghanistan. You have to ask yourself, what kind of a heartless person would steal from a non-profit organization...

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - Bob Williams calls it "modern-day piracy." A few months ago, an anonymous donor gave a large expensive boat to Support the Troops, a charity Williams runs that takes donations and sends them to troops serving overseas. Williams made plans to use the boat, being stored on the east coast of Florida, to generate money for his charity. The charity houses thousands of boxes at its warehouse in Wesley Chapel, waiting to be sent overseas. However, the charity struggles to generate enough money to pay for postage.

Those who believe that President Barack Obama should ignore Vice President Joe Biden's advice about a "small footprint" and give Gen. Stanley McChrystal additional troops to complete the administration's mission in Afghanistan have been slow to make one of the strongest arguments: More means less. That is, sending more troops likely means less risk for the troops already there. Currently, there are about 66,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan, and McChrystal has recommended that Obama send more — perhaps as many as 40,000 — to help carry out a counterinsurgency strategy. So I was glad that Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., cited...

Speaking from the White House Rose Garden with Defense Secretary Bob Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Bush...

A FOX News cameraman helped save the life of an injured Marine in Afghanistan — and was injured himself — when the armored Humvee convoy he was traveling in was struck by a roadside bomb Sunday night in the Helmand province, a Taliban stronghold. Two U.S. Marines were badly injured when the improvised explosive device detonated near their convoy. Though FOX News cameraman Chris Jackson was injured in the blast, he went back to the burning vehicle to rescue one of the Marines. "The cabin was on fire and I jumped out," said Jackson in a report filed immediately following...

Friday, June 27, 2008 Posted By:Catherine MoyPermalinkTHANK YOU AMERICA!!!!! We’ve topped $1.1 Million for Our Troops!!!!! It is the day after our webathon and I am still numb from the stunning, selfless generosity of America. Our historic - and risky - webathon brought together the best in high-tech, stars like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Gold Star parents and thousands upon thousands of Americans who REALLY support our troops. I want to apologize for failing to get a blog up as we went last night and yesterday. So many folks were participating on line that I...

FROM EMAIL from Doug Lyvere, Eagles Up -- ...Code Pink is on the ropes. The Marines have been welcomed by the Chamber of Commerce. More people, civilian's and businesses, have started showing their support for Veteran's. Everyone's efforts have started to pay off. Everyone should be proud. So this time we're going to do it a little differently. Last time we designated Berkeley a "No spend zone". Some said this had zero impact. I disagree - we made a point and whether or not a negative financial impact was felt, we got a response. This time, I think we should...

Telethon Breaks Records, Troops to Receive Largest Care Package Delivery in History Written by Melanie Morgan    Friday, 27 June 2008 The telethon exceeded my wildest expectations. I thought that if we were really lucky, really good, caught some major breaks -we might raise $400,000- tops. Instead, the final tally on the electronic tote board was $1,055,719. In reality, the total far exceeds the final number. The response was so overwhelming that our website could not keep up with the orders. When all is said and done, I am guessing that Move America Forward will have collected about  1.2...
