  • Marathon bombs likely made from pressure cookers, shrapnel, sources say

Pressure cookers – possibly activated remotely by a cellphone – are believed to have been used to make the crude bombs that sent deadly shrapnel hurling into a crowd of onlookers and competitors at Monday’s Boston Marathon, experts told Fox News. Doctors treating some of the 176 injured victims believe the explosives were packed with deadly shrapnel, including pellets, nails and sharp metallic objects – with some patients having “40 or more” such fragments embedded in their bodies. “Many of them have severe wounds mostly in the lower part of their body – wounds related to the blast effect of...

Kerry’s previous rounds of meetings with foreign ministers had been open to the press. And the meeting with the Saudi Foreign Minister should have been far less controversial than his meetings with foreign ministers in Asia where the North Korean crisis was still underway. The meeting with the Saudi Foreign Minister should have been open to the press as well. But then suddenly, it wasn’t. A meeting Secretary of State John Kerry was to hold with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud Al-Faisal was abruptly closed to press coverage Tuesday morning. The State Department provided no reason for the change, which...

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama pronounced the deadly Boston Marathon explosions an act of terrorism on Tuesday as individuals close to the investigation said the two bombs were made of pressure cookers packed with ball bearings and metal shards that cut into the victims. Speaking at the White House, Obama said investigators do not know if the attack was carried out by an international or domestic organization, or perhaps by a "malevolent individual." Three people were killed, including an 8 year-old boy, and more than 170 were wounded. In his second public statement in less than 24 hours since...

Police and federal agents appealed to the public Tuesday for amateur video and photos that might yield clues to the Boston Marathon bombing and CBS News learned that one of the explosive devices appears to have been placed in a metal pressure cooker packed with nails and ball bearings. A series of Twitter gloats today raised questions about the possible involvement of Somali terror group Al-Shabaab in the Boston Marathon bombing. No person or group has yet directly taken responsibility for the attack that killed three and wounded 176, 17 of those critically. The FBI issued a be-on-the-lookout for a dark-skinned or black man in dark clothes, perhaps with a foreign accent, who tried to enter a restricted area moments before the first blast. Authorities were also questioning a Saudi national here on a student visa and searched an apartment in Revere, Mass., last night. Terror groups have shown...

A fire and possible explosion this afternoon at the John F. This afternoon, Police Commissioner Edward Davis said a preliminary investigation indicated that the JFK incident may not have been an explosion. The fire broke out shortly before 3 p.m. — around the same time as the Marathon blasts several miles away — in an HVAC system in a section of the complex opened in 2011 that houses offices, a classroom, and...

Democrats, including Hoyer, today blamed the Boston Marathon bombings on the Republicans. According to them, the Republican Sequester so damaged our intelligence community that it caused the Marathon bombers to get away with it. Took then just 24 hours to blame conservatives for the lives and limbs lost. I am no fan of the Democrats, but this lowers the level of their loathsomeness to a new bottom.

ThE PERPETRATOR or perpetrators behind the two bombs that exploded within a few seconds of each other near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon are still unknown. But there are working theories. Terrorists often plan their strikes on anniversaries and commemorative dates. Yesterday marked both a patriotic holiday in Massachusetts and Israel Independence Day, which raises the possibility of Islamic terrorism. April 15 is also the deadline for filing federal taxes, which suggests the possibility of homegrown, anti-tax extremists. The pathological possibilities abound at this point. The Marathon is an uplifting event. It is also a made-for-terrorism event....

True to form, the sycophant media in south Florida is NOT reporting anything about the Saudi being questioned. One of the stations even said the Oval Office occupant does not want us to "jump to conclusions"! Shades of Fort Hood.... Unlike the Tucson shootings, the media is LOATHE to report that Islamic extremists might be involved. After all, to the Democrats and media (but I repeat myself) the REAL enemies are conservatives.

I saw many in my Twitter feed objecting to the terrorism/not terrorism debate today. While I can understand objecting to political posturing and sniping based on semantics, the terrorism designation has real legal meaning and news value. This investigation has been handed over to the FBI: The Federal Bureau of Investigation has taken control of the investigation into the blasts, officials announced Monday night at a joint press conference between local, state, and federal authorities. Though President Obama did not use the word “terrorism” in his address, which came just hours after the attack, White House officials have called it...

This comes from a trusted source on today’s Boston bombings: From a cop friend in Boston– A former partner says there was a reporter at the hospital in Boston. She overheard police saying they have video of the suspect dropping bombs into the garbage cans. Cops will never admit that have a suspect in custody until they are ready. If they call him a suspect you must read him his Miranda rights. An eight year-old child was killed in one of the blasts.

The Saudi Arabian man who is reportedly in police custody following the Boston Marathon bombing was chased and tackled by bystanders shortly after the blast, according to CBS. Senior correspondent John Miller, a former assistant director of the FBI, reported this: There is an individual in custody … he is not free to go. He is a Saudi national who was near the scene of the blast. When the blast happened he began to run. Now, in context, a lot of people began to run. A civilian who thought he was acting suspiciously chased him down and tackled him and...
