The Democrats’ chances of retaking the White House are doomed if they nominate Hillary Clinton in 2008, according to Boston Herald Business Columnist Brett Arends. Several weeks ago Arends reported that 45 percent of Democrats in New Hampshire were telling focus groups “they hate her. Hate.” Among the words used to describe Clinton were “evil” and “diabolical.” “These people will not vote for her in a general election,” Arends writes. “So you’d think the party would be throwing itself, right now, into a relentless quest for a more viable alternative... “Instead the party establishment is pouring its time, money and...

Among Hillary Clinton's projects in Arkansas and in the White House was enduring her husband. Some think she also enabled him. But Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York now says women do improve ethics in politics. Whence comes her empowerment? Wasn't Bill impeached? Wasn't the philandering Bill disbarred for lying to a grand jury about his affair with Paula Jones? Didn't he lie to the whole wide world about Monica Lewinsky? Didn't Hillary herself have something to do with Whitewater, Travelgate and the FBI files? That's the old Hillary, or is it?

Despite what he and his pundit pals say about wanting to spare the country from a divisive and gut-wrenching presidential rematch, Al Gore withdrew from the Democrat presidential primary for one reason: because he knew that he could not defeat the widely popular incumbent President George W. Bush, who is providing strong leadership in challenging times.

SYRACUSE NY- While many local residents were making shopping lists, a Lyons man spent the first week of the holiday season in jail. Last month, John Murtari, of Franklin Street, was sentenced to 10 days imprisonment by a federal judge for refusing to leave the Hanley Federal building in downtown Syracuse. He paces corridors there outside the offices of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hoping to win her support for family law reform. On Nov. 22, Murtari was taken to Oneida County Jail, where he served his sentence because the Onondaga County jail was full. "The first thing they do is...

WASHINGTON - Sen. Hillary Clinton got into a closed-door shouting match in the Capitol yesterday with the top Democratic backer of campaign finance reform, sources told the Daily News. Clinton (D-N.Y.) faced off with Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) during a luncheon discussion of a landmark fund-raising law set to take effect Nov. 6. When Feingold dismissed warnings that senators could face legal challenges on unpredictable grounds under the new law, Clinton exploded. "Russ, live in the real world," a tight-faced Clinton shouted at Feingold, sources said. "They will be all over you like a June bug," a source quoted Clinton...

U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton blew a gasket during a closed-door Senate meeting yesterday, shouting at campaign finance "reform" crusader Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., in an embarrassing scene that broke all rules of Senate collegiality and decorum. Clinton, D-N.Y., failed to suppress her notorious temper after Democratic Party campaign lawyer Bob Bauer warned senators that the kind of fund-raising tactics employed by her husband could send her and her colleagues to jail under the recently passed McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform law. When Feingold dismissed the legal concerns, the short-fused former first lady boiled over. "Russ, live in the real world!"...

Only 5 percent said she deserved an "A". A total of three percent of those polled - only 53 respondents - gave Mrs. Clinton a "B" or...

OWASCO - A retired state trooper and former restaurateur was hurt Wednesday night after his pickup truck hit two large rocks and overturned in a grassy field. John Angyal, of the 3800 block of East Street in Skaneateles, was driving on Oakridge Road toward Melrose Road when he was apparently distracted by a bee buzzing inside his car. He told police he was swatting the bee when his car swerved off the road. Eyewitness Josie Vozga saw Angyal's vehicle hit a large rock near a driveway. "Then he went into the air, and hit that rock," Vozga said, pointing to...
