BEIJING (Reuters) - China's Shaolin Temple, the cradle of Chinese kung fu, is demanding an apology from an Internet user who said its monks had once been beaten in unarmed combat by a Japanese ninja, Chinese media reported on Friday. Shaolin Temple, in the northern province of Henan, became famous in the West as the training ground for Kwai Chang "Grasshopper" Caine in the 1970s "Kung Fu" TV series. Ninjas -- professional assassins trained in martial arts -- date back to mediaeval Japan. "The so-called defeat is purely fabricated, and we demand the Internet user to apologise to the whole...

Hello to one and all. My wife and I are accountants in San Diego, CA and she's been offered a position with a company in Memphis, TN. We've done some initial research on probable places to live and we really like the Germantown area - the homes in our desired price range (250k-310k) seem lovely, the published statistics for the town seem right-on, and the public schools are highly-rated. Our question is: What's the political climate of the town? Thanks in advance.

Arab astrologer predicts Bush assassination Oracle famed for prophesying deaths of Diana, Yassin, Arafat © 2004 WorldNetDaily.com A Tunisian astrologer who reportedly predicted the deaths of Princess Diana, Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and Yasser Arafat says President Bush will be killed by an assassin's bullet in 2005. So seriously are Hassan al-Sharibi's predictions taken in the Arab world that a similar prophecy about Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Mahmoud Abbas has resulted in increased security around the candidate to replace Arafat as president of the Palestinian Authority. Abbas' aides put a "great deal of credence" in the prediction, according to...

There are so many things that make FR great. It's my favorite place on the Internet and I am proud to support it financially. However, there are a few things that have been getting under my skin too. Jokes about the "72 virgins" every time there is news of a Muslim terrorist being killed. Please. Over the last three years, every possible variation of the virgins joke has already been done. Hundreds of times. It is far, far beyond cliché by now. Jokes about spitting one's food or drink on the screen or keyboard, in response to someone else's humorous...

Announcing ApologiesAccepted.com, which styles itself the world's answer to SorryEverybody.com, featuring words of forgiveness from Bush-haters in Holland, Canada, South Korea, Australia and other countries. Somehow this crowd doesn't seem quite as pathetic as the SorryEverybody folks, though it may be that we judge foreigners by a lower standard. Actually, there's at least one dissenting photo, showing the top half of some guy's head with the following message beneath: What actually makes Kerry so much better than Bush? We know about Bush now, and we know, what to expect. The majority of the American people has made their decision and...

To all good people of countries other than the US- WE are now officially a rogue nation- please don’t blame the citizens of the US as we have been taken over by Nazis. Trust us, we are more frightened than you. There is no possible way that Bush is the most popular president ever. There is no way that he won this election. It is a lie, supported by fraudulent elections and corrupt government officials. There is no popular support for Bush, only Bush freepers on the net paid for by homeland security to convince other nations and naive US...

You delete remarks for no other reason but you don't like the thoughts expressed, (though mine was left for assument) inactivate my account, and preach free speech for all. My words weren't for the purpose of starting a war, only to say, "hey, what do you think about this?" I didn't get one intellgent arugment. Name calling yes, insults yes, nothing thought provoking. So you cane prove me right yet again, and delete this post and inactivate my...

Exactly why are you retards happy that this Cokehead chimp is back? Do Conservatives like escalating budget deficits? I guess so. Do Conservatives like pointless wars initiated by lies? I guess so. You really must love outsourced jobs and a crappy economy. You are probably too stupid to realize how the country is now screwed. To hell with all of you.

Following is the full English transcript of Usama bin Ladin's speech in a videotape sent to Aljazeera. In the interests of authenticity, the content of the transcript, which appeared as subtitles at the foot of the screen, has been left unedited. Praise be to Allah who created the creation for his worship and commanded them to be just and permitted the wronged one to retaliate against the oppressor in kind. To proceed: Peace be upon he who follows the guidance: People of America this talk of mine is for you and concerns the ideal way to prevent another Manhattan, and...

A New Hurricane: The National Weather Service has issued a warning for yet another catastrophic hurricane following on the heels of Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. The path of this hurricane zigs and zags, and is therefore highly unpredictable. Experts predict that this one will cause the most damage to the United States that we have experienced in four years. They are naming this one Hurricane Kerry. Be advised, the only way for citizens to protect themselves is by being behind a Bush.

NEW YORK -- Bruce Springsteen, who once bemoaned the television wasteland in his song "57 Channels," offered some fresh criticism of the small screen and its political coverage: enough with partisan politics and "Fear Factor," let's focus on the facts. "Things are distorted by ratings and by money to where you're getting one hour of the political conventions," Springsteen says in an interview for the Oct. 14 issue of Rolling Stone magazine. "No matter how staged they are, I think they're a little more important than people eating bugs." The New Jersey rocker also offered harsh words for the Bush...

January 14 could have been a bad day for George Bush. As the president was preparing to announce America's return to the moon in a speech at the headquarters of Nasa, he was almost asked to deliver a very different message: that the Earth could suffer a devastating asteroid strike within 24 hours. Astronomers have revealed that during a "nine-hour crisis" the night before Mr Bush's speech they believed there was a one in four chance an asteroid would hit the planet in 36 hours. Had it not been for a break in the clouds that allowed an amateur astronomer...

To this very day, individuals in Lucianne.Com and FreeRepublic.Com continue to post articles to let me know they can see and hear in my Mom's home. Others include 'mhking' 'aculeus' 'quidnunc' (in FreeRepublic) and in Lucianne.Com, 'Deldad', 'Kalkin', 'wookie' and some others. The examples go on and on and on and on. I was flipping around the radio dial one afternoon when I heard a familiar voice. The last time I heard that voice was to the accompaniment of a leering grin and towels snapping in a locker room. "Gotcha!" the voice had been saying. Snap! "Gotcha good, didn't I, queer?" Snap! "That'll teach you to mess with Mike." Mike was the terror of my high school locker room. Snapping towels at young boys' private parts. Getting freshmen in a headlock and rubbing their faces in his armpits. Calling all the boys "queers!" and "wimps!" He was a class act then. Now...

Hail to the great hyprocrite Paul F. Macri, Auburn, Maine President Bush is a great American, a great American hypocrite, that is. My stomach turned last Thursday night as Bush’s jet landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln and America saw him in a flight suit for the first time since he went AWOL from the Texas National Guard more than 30 years ago. Don’t those cheering sailors — who truly are brave and did serve their country — know that Dubya conveniently sat out the Vietnam War, not as a protester or Rhodes Scholar, but with a rich boy’s “in”...

From George Looney "It's the head guys who really tick me off. You dumb down at the top, so what does that do to the bottom? Who's going to stand up for us now? I just want someone smart to stand up and shout, 'Bullshit!' They tell us we're going to war and no one's saying 'Bullshit' loud enough. And the language! Listen to the language! 'Evil.' 'Evil'? 'Nexus of evil'? 'Evil-doer'? That's my favourite, 'evil-doer'! What's wrong with their vocabulary: couldn't they come up with 'schmuck'?" "What did Bush do on 9/11? He ran away and hid. Even Reagan...

Once again the news media mind-control "spin doctors" are baiting naive Americans to believe that the Bush administration's "preferred target" at this time (Iraq) was involved in the Oklahoma City bombing escapade. Those of us who have done our inside homework on the OKC bombing most certainly KNOW that this was a government/military insider job, with a special agenda for our nation connected with it...and hence we are not falling for this diversionary tactic to somehow now justify in the American minds the "war on Iraq." From my CIA-insider whistle-blowers, to General Ben Partin's exposing of the obvious government/military role...

Boy sticks out tongue, is suspended David Crowder, El Paso Times Sal Santana II, a 12-year-old Magoffin Middle School student, said he stuck his tongue out at a girl who declined his invitation to be his girlfriend. School district administrators viewed the incident as sexual harassment, suspended him for three days and are considering placing him in an alternative school. "This is crazy," said Sal's mother, Silvia Santana. "It's a shame that a guy trying to be cute with a girl can get himself into this much trouble. I don't think he even knows what sexual harassment is." El Paso...

I'm posting this topic in an effort to try to get a grip on the insanity that plagues this country. Generally speaking, I know the reasons, but it is without logic why our country continues to spiral out of control towards oblivion in regards to political, social, and cultural traits. Thus, without further ado, I will try to explain some of the many examples. In regard to politics, how can our politicians continue to promote policies that expand government control. Furthermore, how can they neglect to get involved in those areas that are constitutionally given? Not only that, but how ...

German scientists are telling the public to stop using words derived from English and use French terms instead. Armin Burkhardt, who heads the working group on language in politics, calls the project a way of "peaceful linguistic protest". He is a professor at the German department at Magdeburg University. In an appeal published by the committee, Burkhardt suggests Germans should buy billets not tickets, go on a rendezvous instead of a date and agree by saying d'accord rather than okay. He is also calling for "formidable" to replace "cool" and "bonvivant" to replace "playboy". French expressions have long been part...

If you thought the rabid anti-Americanism displayed by such bottom-sucking slugs as Michael Moore was as low as Hollywood can sink, think again. The producer of the CBS miniseries "Hitler: The Rise of Evil" says it is a warning to the American people that if they don't watch out the Bush administration could morph into a carbon copy of Hitler's National Socialist dictatorship. According to the New York Post, something called Ed Gernon, the CBS producer of the Hitler miniseries starring Robert Carlyle, Peter O'Toole and Julianna Margulies, says he sees the program as a warning for Americans about the...

"Human Shields Flee Baghdad" Tuesday 1 April 2003, 8:05 AM Australian human shield Donna Mulhearn has fled Baghdad for Amman before what is expected to be a bloody battle for the capital. The 34-year-old said she and five other people arrived in Jordan on Sunday night, after paying a driver the equivalent of $A1,250 to drive them out of Iraq. She said the trip would normally cost less than $A16.71 on a bus. Ms Mulhearn said she met Australian SAS soldiers about 200km west of Baghdad at a roadblock, describing them as professional. "I was actually quite relieved when I...

EVEN on Donald Henry Rumsfeld, that formidable and remarkably well preserved 70 year old who as Secretary of Defence is running the campaign in Iraq, the strain is starting to tell. Outwardly, it is the pugnacious Rumsfeld of always, the steamrollering CEO who brooks no dissent. Look more closely, however, and the lines of strain are visible. The tiredness is evident in the eyes behind those rimless spectacles. And small wonder. For he is the man in the hot seat as, eight days into the Gulf War of 2003, a once cocksure America is forced to face the possibility it...

Something Suspicious Is in the Air By Courtland Milloy Monday, March 24, 2003; Page B01 The sign above the highway leading into the nation's capital advised motorists to "Report Suspicious Activity" and gave an 800 number for the Office of Homeland Security. As a reporter, I figured this was right up my alley and set out yesterday to report on things that struck me as suspicious. For instance, near the Jefferson Memorial, I saw a five-foot-tall metal box that was hooked up to an electrical outlet and equipped with a high-tech antenna and chrome-dome receptor. What was it? I asked...

Sheryl Crow wore a white T-shirt emblazoned with "War Is Not the Answer" when she accepted her American Music Award in January. Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst was received with cheers when he said, "This war has got to go away as soon as possible" during the Grammy telecast. But when Natalie Maines of the country music trio the Dixie Chicks said from a London stage that she was "ashamed" that President Bush was from Texas, the result was quite different. Angry fans flooded radio stations in San Diego, Nashville and Dallas with calls demanding that the Dixie Chicks' music...
