President Barack Obama will be coming to town this week for a series of fundraising events for the second time in as many months. Obama is set to arrive at LAX shortly before 5 p.m. Monday and then head to a fundraising diner at the home of 'Hitch' producer James Lassiter in Hancock Park. The President will then to be courting Latino voters at a fundraising gala at the nearby home of Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas.

Vice President Joe Biden held up airplane traffic for hours on Friday night at Los Angeles International Airport after an appearance on Jay Leno ‘s ‘Tonight Show,’ leaving restless passengers fuming. A spokesman for the vice president said he was unaware of the FAA temporary flight restriction that stopped flights coming in, and delayed those going out. “I know we didn’t ask for anything,” Biden’s spokesman James Carney told TheWrap. “There was no sign of any stoppage. And there shouldn’t have been one.” Oh, but there was. Passengers were stuck for anywhere from 45 minutes to four hours as a...

Why Palin shouldn’t run in 2012 By John Ziegler 03/10/10 at 12:00 AM Last week I made a rare appearance on MSNBC (a network on which I have had numerous “YouTube moments” since the 2008 election, when they became the “Obama Network”) and shared some statements which apparently shocked some of my fellow conservatives.Since even before the release of my documentary about the media coverage of Obama’s election, I have been described by many commentators (both as a compliment and as a condemnation) as Sarah Palin’s most ardent defender against the never-ending stream of unfair media attacks against her....

There is a reason I haven’t stepped foot into a movie theater in years… I can’t stand Hollywood. It’s lack of creativity, it’s drug addicts, it’s moral depravity (and I’m no saint) also, it’s grand-standing preaching actors, it’s cults, it’s creepy apartments for child actors that serve the young residents drugs and alcohol. Then there’s the not-so secret, secret about how most young men obtain their movie roles. Somebody clue in “Ricky Hollywood,” considering the path he’s chosen… The whole place makes me rather nauseous. It’s a shining example of how we have fallen as a culture.

Sarah Palin's secret "laugh track" machine at Jay Leno show: makes Adam Lambert fans like her, too!(An "after action" report from FReepers who were actually in the studio audience.) In perhaps the worst possible development for the radical left since the discovery of Karl Rove's now infamous "Weather Machine," Governor Palin's recently exposed top secret "laugh track" machine appears to also have even more dastardly powers than were originally feared. In addition to altering the space-time continuum, and reprogramming the master computers at NBC – to cause laughter during Sarah's monologue to appear where none had been before, and send...

The left has become so absurd in their fear of Sarah Palin that they are now spreading rumors that NBC provided Palin with a laugh track when she did a monologue on the Tonight Show this week. How desperate and ridiculous are the left's latest attacks. So lame that even NBC is defending Palin. Yes, NBC!

Sarah Palin will be on the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno this TUESDAY, March 2.Members of the Los Angeles chapter will be in the studio audience. We will not be able to bring SIGNS inside the taping, but they cannot prevent us from writing a message of encouragement to Governor Palin on our HANDS, right?I'm in favor of us all writing something SIMPLE on our hands, like this, from FReeper MaryFromMichigan : This could get Jay's attention, and might even make it on TV.What do YOU think?

Sarah Palin and Simon Cowell are among the first guests who have agreed to appear on The Tonight Show when Jay Leno returns on March 1. His first night back isn’t particularly star-powered: He’ll have Jamie Foxx and Olympic Gold medal skier Lindsey Vonn on the couch, with a musical performance by Brad Paisley. But on Tuesday, Leno is sure to get the eyeballs with an appearance from Palin, who will be joined by Olympic Gold medal snowboarder Shaun White. On March 3, the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore will help with Leno’s Jaywalk All-Stars segment while Chelsea Handler and...

"Extra" has confirmed that Jay Leno's longtime bandleader and sidekick, Kevin Eubanks, is leaving "The Tonight Show," as first reported by Lisa Stanley on K-EARTH 101. A source tells "Extra" Eubanks "wanted a change" and decided to leave the show, adding that Eubanks wanted to pursue other opportunities. Another source says he will appear on the debut of the revamped "Tonight Show" when it returns on March 1. In 1992, Eubanks joined "The Tonight Show" band, becoming bandleader two years later. Before he joined the show, Eubanks released numerous albums. Eubanks was also bandleader on "The Jay Leno Show."

Well the NBC late night drama saga has ended, for now at least. Conan O’Brien had his last Tonight Show last night. If you missed Conan’s last show and final monologue, never fear I have Conan O’Brien’s final monologue video below. After weeks of will he stay will he go, Conan has said goodbye to The Tonight Show and lets just say he did not disappoint in his final show, especially when it came to his final Tonight Show monologue. From his jokes about really having to go, to having Tilda Swinton play him in an HBO movie, Conan kept...

Conan O'Brien staffers are furious that they're losing their "Tonight Show" jobs while O'Brien walks away from the fiasco with $30 million, sources tell Page Six. About 200 of O'Brien's production team, who last year uprooted from New York to Los Angeles for his show, are fuming that they've been overlooked as Conan negotiates his way out of NBC. "The production team feels betrayed," one source said. "They don't understand why Conan couldn't have just agreed to move the show to 12:05 a.m. and see how things turn out, which would have allowed them all to keep their jobs. But...

I Just Received this Press Release from Conan O'Brien's "People" People of Earth: In the last few days, I've been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I've been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I've been absurdly lucky. That said, I've been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

It seemed like a good idea to hire Conan O'Brien to host "The Tonight Show" as Jay Leno's replacement. But O'Brien's huge ratings didn't follow him to his new home, and now, PopEater is reporting that NBC executives are already having conversations about replacing him.

The Conan visit was fun – the best part was that we had Wounded Warriors with us in the audience. I can’t express how proud I am of their courage and patriotism. I’m extremely happy that Laura Ingraham had the great idea to put the simple coat from the cover of my book to good use. It’s being auctioned to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Fisher House. Laura pulled it all together with a live auction that continues through December 18th. Sarah Palin will make a surprise appearance on "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien" Friday night. Security was thick around the NBC stage Friday afternoon, while the former vice presidential candidate was hurriedly rehearsing a skit. Palin, who ensures high TV ratings wherever she goes, was a last-minute booking for NBC. Sources say members of the NBC audience were led outdoors when first Palin arrived for rehearsals in order to keep her appearance a secret from them. Lifestyles of the hip and famous keep on rolling for the world-champion Chula Vista Park View Little Leaguers. The boys were bused to Burbank yesterday for an appearance last night on “The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.” Never mind that most of the 12- and 13-year-olds didn't know Conan O'Brien from Conan the Barbarian. “Nope,” said Park View second baseman Bulla Graft. “Never heard of him.” After O'Brien's monologue and Sandra Bullock's appearance to promote her new movie, up to the stage stepped all 12 players, wearing baby-blue T-shirts and gray baseball pants — and earning the audience's hearty applause.

(WXYZ) - TV's ultimate sidekick Ed McMahon has died at 86. Johnny Carson's longtime Tonight Show co-host died just after midnight at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. McMahon's death was confirmed by his publicist. McMahon was perhaps best known for his work on the Tonight Show, where he served as announcer and co-host from 1962 to 1992. McMahon also hosted the talent competition Star Search from 1983 to 1995. Born in Los Angeles on March 6, 1923, McMahon was raised in Lowell, Massachusetts. He worked as a bingo caller and carnival barker before moving into radio and TV. McMahon found...

Lowell native Ed McMahon, the legendary "H-e-e-e-e-re’s Johnny" pitchman, has died following a long battle with cancer. McMahon, 86, died shortly after midnight at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center surrounded by his wife, Pam, and other family members, his publicist, Howard Bragman, told the Associated Press today. McMahon became a star on the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson where the duo had a historic run from 1962 to 1992. He played Carson’s foil for decades, setting up jokes and skits and suppressing his trademark laughter through it all.

Conan Gives NBC Big Lead In Adult Demos My phone has been ringing off the hook this morning with the news about Conan O'Brien's "blow-out" lead in adult demographics most desirable to advertisers during his first week hosting The Tonight Show. Of course, this is impoirtant info, more so than households. Then again, that's NBC's mantra: we don't need eyeballs as long as we have key demos. Actually, both count. But let the gushing begin: UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – June 11, 2009 – Conan is the new King of Late Night. "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" was the dominant...

An English friend of mine got his first dose of Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien last week, and commented that while Jay seemed friendly and confident, his "Tonight Show" replacement was more of a cipher. He wondered, "Do you think O'Brien will fit in?" That's the multimillion-dollar question. O'Brien has only taken over shows, and never originated his own. He spent 16 years remaking David Letterman's "Late Night" into his own comedic image, but this time, he's walking into an institution. NBC's "Tonight" is bigger than O'Brien, which means he's got to conform to expectations -- while trying to give...

A rare moment in American television history – the passing of the baton in The Tonight Show - will come tonight as Jay Leno steps down as the king of late night talk. Leno took over as host of the NBC show 17 years ago from another veteran, Johnny Carson. The latter famously hosted the chat and variety show for 30 years. The five night a week show is one of the most enduring fixtures of American television, having started in 1954 with Steve Allen as host. Leno, a notorious workaholic, cancelled the show only twice - when he checked...

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The top bowler for the Special Olympics looks forward to meeting President Barack Obama in an alley. "He bowled a 129. I bowl a 300. I could beat that score easily," Michigan's Kolan McConiughey (KO-lahn Mc-KAHNA-he) told The Associated Press in an interview Friday.

Reporting from Chicago -- When she met Barack Obama two years ago, Caitlin Cox proudly wore the two bronze medals she had won at the Special Olympics. The then-Illinois senator grinned as she showed him pictures of her signature bubble-gum-pink bowling ball and posed for photographs with her. Cox, who has Down syndrome, excitedly recalls that meeting each time she sees Obama's photo on a magazine cover or hears him mentioned on TV. Her ears perked up again Friday morning as her parents discussed the president at breakfast. Her mother, Suzanne Thompson, told her that Obama had made a joke...

It wasn’t an official strike, just a protest. But 100 or so members of the Screen Actors Guild picketed NBC’s Tonight Show in Burbank last night. And President Obama’s limo sped past them faster than Joe Biden putting his foot in his mouth. Here’s how Variety explains it:
-
Does Keith Olbermann see himself as some sort of Junior Assistant to White House press secretary Robert Gibbs? Over at Contentions, Jennifer Rubin has noted that in discussing the Obama “Special Olympics” comment, the Countdown host asked a guest “what do we do–what does he do, about that?” Translation: how do “we” repair the damage? By the way, Olbermann scooped his own network on the gaffe. “Tonight” had already been taped by the time Olbermann went on the air at 8 PM EDT last night, and as you’ll see from the YouTube, he had somehow gotten an advance look and...

The first appearance by a sitting president on "The Tonight Show" may well end up being the last. President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled. Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he's gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley. He bowled a 129, the president said. "That's very good, Mr. President," Leno said sarcastically. It's "like the Special Olympics or something," the president said. When asked about the remark,...

Fifteen years ago, I had a stupid idea. I was the co-executive producer on ..."Cheers." NBC...was faltering: Ratings were sliding, money was tight, management was nervous ...Johnny Carson...was retiring... I was 28 then, and like all 28-year-olds, I had no idea exactly how stupid I was. So when I found myself standing next to the president of NBC ...I offered my solution to his network's crisis. "You know what you should do?" ... "You should move the 'Tonight Show' with Jay Leno to 10 p.m. Think of all the money you'd save." "That's a pretty stupid suggestion," he said to...

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Comedian Jay Leno will make his last appearance as host of NBC's "The Tonight Show" next May 29, setting the stage for Conan O'Brien to replace him on America's top late-night TV show on June 1, the network said on Monday. But even as they announced the exact date of Leno's long-planned 2009 departure, NBC executives said they were looking for ways to keep him at the General Electric Co.-owned network in a role other than as a late-night host.

LOS ANGELES—An NBC executive says the network has told the non-writing staff of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" that they face layoffs next week because of the Hollywood writers strike. The late-night talk show has been in reruns since the walkout started Monday. An NBC executive who wasn't authorized to comment publicly and asked to remain anonymous says the possibility of using guest hosts on the show is under consideration as a way to restart production and avoid layoffs.

After more than a half-century, NBC Universal is dropping the curtain on "beautiful downtown Burbank." The media company plans to announce Thursday that it is selling much of the 30 acres it owns in Burbank, including its legendary NBC Studios at 3000 W. Alameda Ave., home to such iconic programs as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and before that, "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson." NBC Universal intends to relocate the network and local news operations that are in Burbank to a new headquarters in a massive complex planned on Lankershim Boulevard, across the street from its Universal Studios...

Was Fox News simply offering solid reporting on the inside baseball of the Fred Thompson campaign, or could there have been an element of payback for the candidate having blown off the debate Fox sponsored last night in favor of appearing on NBC's "Tonight Show"? A Fox News article by chief political correspondent Carl Cameron [with AP input], Fred Thompson Campaign Makes Drastic Shift on Eve of Kickoff, paints a decidedly negative portrait of matters inside the Thompson campaign. Most notable is this line: Thompson appears to be losing his core of original supporters at a quickening pace. By "supporters"...

BURBANK - Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson is scheduled to be a guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" tomorrow, a day before officially declaring his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination. Thompson's appearance -- he last appeared on the show June 12 -- will come on the same day as the eight announced Republican candidates debate in New Hampshire. The Thompson campaign announced last week that he would declare his candidacy Thursday, with a Webcast on his campaign's Web site, www.imwithfred.com, then conduct a five-day campaign tour through Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, all key early states...

BURBANK, California, June 19, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Last night on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," comedian Robin Williams plugged his upcoming movie, "License to Wed." In the film, Williams plays a Protestant minister who forces an engaged couple to go through a grueling marriage preparatory course. But last night Williams went off on Catholic priests, painting them as pedophiles. Williams pretended to be playing a game where the pedophile is hidden under a cup, suggesting that this was an image of the Church's attitude towards dealing with "pedophile" priests. "Here we go. Find the priest, find the pedophile. Find...

Even while former senator and Law & Order actor Fred Thompson hasn't officially started his bid for the White House, his online presence would make you think that there isn't even a question. His social networking presence is also growing, with more and...
