Jenkins, Bravo Company, 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, was one of four soldiers injured in the April 19 incident, which happened after an Iraqi child brought soldiers the bomb.</p>

This morning on both MSNBC and Fox News, I caught parts of a news item that seemd to be saying the U.S. soldier who used his body to shield an Iraqi child and other U.S. soldiers from a weapon the child was trying to turn in, will be nominated for the Congressional Medal of Honor. (AP) -- A 25-year-old Army sergeant from Alabama was critically wounded when a cluster bomb exploded as he tried to save an Iraqi child and members of his unit from being harmed by it, the soldier's family said. "He's a hero," Gibson told the Register, "a 100 percent hero. He threw himself on an unexploded cluster bomb to save a child and his unit."

A soldier profiled in the Mobile Register days ago was in critical condition Monday from severe injuries he sustained Saturday when he threw himself on a cluster bomb tossed by a 7-year-old Iraqi child, his mother and his wife said they were told by the military.
