With just two days to go until the polls closed on the midterm elections, Republicans were working hard to get out their base and liberal media were working hard to get out the Democratic Party‚Äôs base. During the Sunday edition of ABC‚Äôs Good Morning America, they touted President Trump‚Äôs job approval rating slipping to 40 percent. Despite that good news to them, co-anchor Dan Harris was seemingly dismayed as he turned to Clinton lackey George Stephanopoulos, asking: ‚Äúwhy is this not a blowout?‚ÄĚ Stephanopoulos gave Harris a couple of reasons for why Republicans were still in the game this close...

Black voter approval of President Trump hit the yearís high at 40 percent this week, according to daily tracking by Rasmussen Reports. The high-water mark comes right after the ďBlexit,Ē or ďBlack exit from the Democratic Party,Ē movement spearheaded by Turning Pointís Candace Owens was launched over the weekend, which drew thousands of young African Americans to Washington, DC. The numbers are based on a three-day rolling average of 1,500 likely voters surveyed nationally every night, according to Rasmussení. About 12 to 13 percent of those are likely black voters. ďWe never saw 40 percent before,Ē said Ted Carroll, of...

In August, Rasmussen Reports put Trumpís popularity among black voters at 36 percent, according to USA Today. At that time, Trumpís popularity among black voters had doubled since August 2017. Some 40 percent of black likely voters approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing, according to the daily Rasmussen poll released on Oct. 29. The number marks a record high, the pollster noted, and shows a rapid rise in support for the president among black voters, compared to Rasmussenís own results from a year ago. The poll showed 29 percent support for Trump among blacks on Aug. 6, compared with 15 percent on Aug. 3, 2017. Reuters/Ipsos polls also have revealed an increase, though more modest, to 16.5 percent approval among blacks in an Oct. 18Ė22 survey, from...

While America's global image has "plummeted" during US President Donald Trump's presidency, Israelis give high marks to his administration and the country as a whole, according to the Pew Research Center. Israelis were often three times more likely to give Trump a positive rating than those surveyed in other allied countries, including Mexico, Germany, Canada and France, according to a Pew poll released Monday. Eight out of 10 Israelis express a favorable opinion of the United States and more than half believe that America is doing more to address global problems than a few years ago. What voters most hate about politicians is their maddening refusal to keep Ė or even try to keep Ė their campaign promises. In this regard, Trump is a truly revolutionary force in politics, a veritable saint among demons. Given that, and the relative peace and prosperity Americans enjoy, how do we explain a presidential approval rating that remains mired in the low to mid-40s? Since Trump is the center of political gravity and leads the GOP, the question of how voters really view him is a major factor in the upcoming election. Republicans should discount the polls Ė the picture...

The Democratic Party’s advantage among American women suffered a six percent swing over the past year, according to a Gallup poll released Monday. Women are still more likely to view the Democrats favorably than they are Republicans, but the difference has contracted. A year ago, 35 percent of women said they viewed Republicans favorably. Democrats had a 14 point advantage, with 49 percent viewing the party favorably. In the latest poll, the GOP favorability rating rose to 40 percent. The Democrat favorability fell by one point. That leaves Democrats with just an 8 point advantage.Democrats have completely lost their advantage...

Given the speed at which Trump-era news cycles move, I should stress that I’m writing this at 5:30 p.m. ET. By the time you read it, eight to 10 different major news stories might have broken that’ll affect the midterms dramatically one way or another. And 2018 being what it is, they’re apt to be off-the-wall crazy. Michael Avenatti might prove that Kavanaugh has spent the last 30 years secretly moonlighting as a pimp. Trump might fire Rod Rosenstein and then nominate him to the Supreme Court in lieu of Kavanaugh. Jeff Sessions might get caught smoking crack. The only...

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Forty-five percent of Americans now have a favorable view of the Republican Party, a nine-point gain from last September's 36%. It is the party's most positive image since it registered 47% in January 2011, shortly after taking control of the House in the 2010 midterm elections. Forty-four percent give the Democratic Party a favorable rating. The parity in Republicans' and Democrats' favorable ratings marks a change from what has generally been the case since Barack Obama's election as president in November 2008. Republicans have usually been rated less positively than Democrats over this time, with the Republican...

Pollster Mallory Newall said on Monday that hurricanes are not likely to impact President Trump's approval rating, given how steady it has been recently. "What strikes me about President Trump's approval rating is that it has been remarkably steady for months, and even in the face of different newsworthy events, a hurricane or a tropical storm being one of them, he tends to hover around the low to mid-forty percent range," Newall, research director at Ipsos Public Affairs, told Hill.TV's Joe Concha on "What America's Thinking." "If you look at this trend over time, it's been remarkably steady for months,"...

Support for President Donald Trump does not appear to have dwindled in the aftermath of his former lawyer Michael Cohen pleading guilty to campaign finance violations, with a new poll showing the president has maintained his approval rating. A Harvard CAPS/Harris poll provided to The Hill shows the president with a 46 percent approval rating, one point up from the same survey taken last month that showed Trump with a 45 percent approval rating."Trump continues to strengthen his job approval as the economy strengthens," Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll co-director Mark Penn told The Hill of the survey, which was conducted August...
