A 43-year-old DeKalb man was charged this week with the recent vandalism of a statue of Tupac Shakur at the arts center named for the slain performer. DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said investigators have no reason to believe the suspect, Kenneth Anthony Wilson, had a racial motive in the Oct. 20 incident. Wilson, who lives on North Hairston Road near the center on Memorial Drive, is African-American. US congresswoman Cynthia McKinney is pushing for the public disclosure of all government records related to the life and death of Tupac Shakur. The Georgia state representative has introduced a bill before congress, entitled 'The Tupac Amaru Shakur Records Collection Act of 2005', which calls for the "expeditious disclosure" of those records. The bill is modelled on 1992's John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act which mandates that all material relating to the late president's assassination be housed in one complete collection.
