I was just reading some of the political websites and found something really surprising: Most of the people who commented on any of the articles weren't actually commenting on the articles at all! Instead, they were either tossing in their two cents worth about some other project entirely; commenting on some other comment; commenting on whether a person commenting had the right to make such a comment at that particular venue; or commenting on the published article in such a way as to make it obvious that they had either misundertood what was written or ......

As if we needed anymore proof of Ron Paul’s anti-American treachery — and no, I am not speaking of his inclusion in the Democrats’ list of favorite Republicans (though it’s also quite telling), — he’s finally waded into the Ground Zero mosque controversy where — unsurprisingly — he’s chalked it all up to yet another conspiracy theory, fomented by those war-lovin’ neo-cons: “I think it’s a big distraction, a grand distraction from the real issues… To me it should have been a grand opportunity, and you really touched on the opportunity, because it’s really a property rights issue, and who...

Showers are expected Thursday, but not the wet kind that have plagued Seattle all summer. The Perseid meteor shower will be visible Thursday night, and viewing conditions should be optimal. The meteor shower appears every year as the Earth enters a band of dust that trails the comet Swift-Tuttle. It's one of of the more reliable night-sky events for stargazers in Seattle, and this year's show could be easier to watch because of clear skies and limited moonlight.

This video of UFO over China sure doesn't look like 'space junk' to me... Xiaoshan airport closed after a fiery UFO over China... Stunned witnesses reported seeing a comet-like fireball in the sky and a number of local residents took photos of the strange ball of light. A local bus driver, giving his name only as Yu, said he had seen a strange glowing object in the sky late on Wednesday afternoon. 'The thing suddenly ran westwards fast, like it was escaping from something,' he said. Inbound flights were diverted to nearby airports while outbound flights were delayed for three...

In the event of disaster or evacuation, the government might feel the need to track people in order to make sure that they are “safe.” At least that’s what Radiant RFID has in mind with its newest technology. There is an odd connection in the news that the state government of New York might soon cease to function, the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster, and the exploding federal deficit with the report that there might be methane based life on one of Saturn's moons, Titan. The connection is the secret hope that Space Messiahs from Titan will somehow save us from all these mounting problems. In the fall of 2008, McCain left the campaign trail in a near panic to return to Washington where he voted in favor of a bailout despite significant Republican opposition and concerns expressed at the time. Below is a list of seven of the top 20 (including the top five) donors to John McCain from 2003-2008 as compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics. It reads like a who’s who of companies that received bailout cash. In fact, while these companies raised John McCain over $1.7 million, they were bailed out to the tune of some $135 billion.

The UFO files release will include over 10 years worth of data with more being released at a later point in time from the Freedom of Information Act. Some of the files include people saying they had specifically seen aliens or their UFO’s up close. Through careful cryptographic and numerological analysis, it now becomes clear that Ellie Light is indeed Barack Hussein Obama, the President of the United States of America. "Ellie" is most certainly a cryptographic reference for "L. E.", which, if one counts back three letters in the alphabet for the letter "E", E-D-C-B, one stops at "B". For "L", if one counts three letters forward in the alphabet, L-M-N-O, one stops at "O". This provided us with "BO", or Barack Obama. Barack Obama was elected President on November, 3rd, 2009. Light, which may also be spelled "lite" is obviously a cryptographic and...

After 50 years of having an official reporting mechanism in place for public sightings of UFOs, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defence stated that the funds could be better used for the Afghanistan war. What is the impact of the British MOD decision to close its UFO desk? New research into Jupiter's fourth largest moon has revealed that the orbiting body contains enough oxygen to support complex, Earth-like lifeforms. Though it has long been known that Europa has an oxygen-rich oceanic environment, this latest research indicates that the actual oxygen level found in the moon's copious bodies of water is up to 100 times greater than previously imagined. With oxygen being a key component for life as we know it, this discovery no doubt has scientists imagining adorable Spore-style critters swimming the frigid Europan waves, before running headlong into the cruel wall of reality. An official announcement by the Obama administration disclosing the reality of extraterrestrial life is imminent. For several months, senior administration officials have been quietly deliberating behind closed doors how much to disclose to the world about extraterrestrial life. Dissatisfaction among powerful institutions such as the U.S. Navy over the decades-long secrecy policy has given a boost to efforts to disclose the reality of extraterrestrial life and technology. The impending disclosure announcement follows upon the secret implementation of a year long openness policy on UFOs and extraterrestrial life. I've always made the analogy that global warming is like aliens; it's this big threat no one can see, but it's supposedly right there above our heads, waiting to kill us if we don't give the government more power to fight it. Now, it seems that the government might actually use the threat of aliens to gain more control, and to head toward a single world government. I know, I know, it's far fetched, and likely untrue. Some pesky scientists have just pointed out an appalling design error in NASA’s latest attempts to find life on Mars. This is beginning to look like a conspiracy. Does someone not want us to find life on Mars? NASA has tried looking for signs of life on Mars precisely once, in the 1976 Viking mission. The result was positive. The reason nobody says there is life on Mars is that another experiment, part of the same mission, couldn’t find any carbon-based “organic” chemicals in Martian soil. This, NASA decided, overruled the other result: with no carbon present, there could be...

( cue eerie music)I live about a mile from our former President George Bush. Ever since he moved into the "neighborhood" car alarm remotes in my complex and around the area randomly stop working. Luckily I don't have an alarm that cuts the engine. I have to drive with the alarm blaring another mile just to use the remote to kill the alarm. At 6 in the morning it's not uncommon now to hear car alarms go off all over the place as people try to start their cars. My roommate started to have the same problem also. I've seen...

Earth Day may fall later this week, but as far as former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell and other UFO enthusiasts are concerned, the real story is happening elsewhere. Mitchell, who was part of the 1971 Apollo 14 moon mission, asserted Monday that extraterrestrial life exists, and that the truth is being concealed by the United States and other governments. He delivered his remarks during an appearance at the National Press Club following the conclusion of the fifth annual X-Conference, a meeting of UFO activists and researchers studying the possibility of alien life forms. Mankind has long wondered if we're "alone...
  • Hip Hop Republicanism

Michael Steele, the new Chairman of the Republican Party, has said some things about hip hop which have caused quite a stir. According to Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher, whose political expertise everyone takes very seriously, Michael Steele "wants to redefine conservatism; he wants to make it hip hop, put it in a new package and sell it." What Joe the Plumber fails to realize is that, in its heart, hip hop really is conservative.

Conspiracy theories are an infection indeed, a cancer that grows in many different forms by pretending to be unrelated to each other. When they all have a number of important common traits. They all come from the human desire to explain events that make sense. The problem is, not everything makes sense. When John F. Kennedy was shot, the conspiracy theorists had theories because they simply could not believe that some nutcase would do it for such a vague reason (insane people complicate everything). It's a part of human nature, to question something that's too simple. If you ask Einstein...
