Tonight we find out if V can really live up to our expectations. After a well-received pilot, the show is moving on to its second episode entitled "There Is No Normal Anymore," which teaches us a couple of things in terms of surviving an alien invasion. Unfortunately, nearly all the characters will defy these lessons. Lesson 1: Do not trust anyone. Going into the second episode, we now know that the Vs are everywhere--- they've actually been lurking into our society even before huge alien ships hovered over the world's major cities. Erica (Elizabeth Mitchell) appears to have learned her...

One international leader was conspicuously absent at the 20 Year Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall today. Even the Russian President made it there. Barack Obama is seen on screens during a video message at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, during the commemorations of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Nov.9, 1989. Even worse- Obama spoke about himself to the crowd: “Few would have seen on that day that… that their American ally would be led by a man of African descent.” And, of course, he did not...

How did this show get past the ABC censors? How did the folks in Hollywood—good Progressives, all—let this program sneak onto the air? Were movie studio heads so distracted by attending yet another Washington fund raiser that a genuine alternate viewpoint was allowed to air? We may never know, but we can be grateful for the remake of V. Because it turns upside down every well known Left Coast trope. A Catholic priest (Joel Gretsch) has doubts. No, not those kinds. He distrusts the milky language of the Visitors and says so in his sermons. A Monsegnior insists the Vs...

I watched "V" for the second time today on Hulu.com. I know some folks didn't enjoy it, but I thought it was nicely paced, well written, and well acted. It was also impressive for its timely Obama references. Additionally, I was surprised by the parallel of the "Visitor" lies and those of the Obama administration. Both seem to think that their "end" justifies their "means". Both the Visitors and the Obama administration are excellent liars...and for the same reasons! Here's the link to Hulu (vy impressive and timely IMO)>>> V on Hulu.com.

When I first heard liberals howling about supposed anti-Obama messages in ABC’s new sci-fi drama “V,” I rolled my eyes. The story of Earth falling for the false promises of sinister aliens may sound like the Barack Obama Hope-&-Change Tour 2008, but it’s hardly a new theme for the science-fiction genre—not only did “The Twilight Zone” famously tackle it way back when, but “V” itself is actually a direct remake of a TV miniseries that first aired in 1983. Any resemblance between the 44th President and two-faced space lizards had to be coincidental…at least, that’s what I thought before Sean...

Want to p!ss off the left? Everybody watch every single episode of the new ABC mini-series “V.” Drive the ratings through the roof. Make the show the hottest cultural happening since Seinfeld. Copy the hairstyles. Ape the fashion. Start bidding up the action dolls on Ebay. And most especially, actually tell people you believe that this is a show about Obama and the left. It isn’t, but if you want the liberals to poop in their pants, say you think it is. I find it not a little ironic that Jonathan Chait would see a “Tea Party Worldview” in a...

ABC's sci-fi series V, tackles questions of blind faith, asking, "Would we believe them?" In the first episode of ABC's remake of the '80s alien-invasion series V (Tuesdays 8/7c), a teen boy is led down the path of destruction by a powerful force: the winsome smile of a cute girl. The dark threat behind innocent flirtation illustrates not only an allegorical shift from the original V series, but also the theme of the new hour-long drama: Things are rarely as pretty as they look. In the original V, the conquest of powerful reptilian aliens—known as the Visitors—was a metaphor for...

This is my first “coming out” article as a conservative and Christian because Hollywood is taking its last breath before dying and I don’t really have much to lose. I’m a director, but made a good living for about seven years compositing visual effects. That is, until I was blacklisted for objecting to anti-Christian and anti-American propaganda that I was forced to listen to 8 hours a day by 90% of the people around me. But that’s a story for a different time. ... What completely blows my mind is that all these comic book and sci-fi loving fans embrace...

The producers better forget about getting any NEA grants! Chicago Tribune: Imagine this. At a time of political turmoil, a charismatic, telegenic new leader arrives virtually out of nowhere. The public is likewise smitten, except for a few nut cases who circulate batty rumors on the Internet about...

The appearance of “V,” a refried UFO show on ABC, suggests that President Barack Obama is a dangerous alien. What’s interesting is that this new series is by a major network that went unconscionably gaga over Obama last year. Such reportage — the gushing, idolatrous positivism issued by Katie Couric and Charles Gibson in the 2008 race, a perfect, present-day equivalent of Aldous Huxley’s “feelies” — is viewed here as it is with Huxley: as totalitarian. Elizabeth Mitchell, Earth Mother incarnate from the “Lost” series, back from True North to form an underground, is definitely worth the watch. Maybe they...

V” got off to an out-of-this-world start Tuesday night for ABC and put the Alphabet just a fraction behind CBS in the demo race. Eye edged out a win with new episodes of its “NCIS” franchise and freshman drama “The Good Wife.” But execs at ABC are all smiles as sci-fi skein “V” drew a 5.0 rating and 13 share, with 13.9 million viewers tuning in, making it the highest-rated series debut of the new season. Reviews for the Warner Bros. show were stellar and audiences clearly checked in at 8 o’clock to see what the hype was all about.

The public is likewise smitten, except for a few patriots who circulate disturbing rumors on the Internet about the leader's origins and intentions. I made this as soon as I heard the remake of the old "V" mini-series goofs somewhat on Obama's galactic personality cult. Feel free to spread this virally and contribute your own versions. I could definitely see Michelle swallowing a few hampsters.

The new "V" airs tonite. For us Generation Xers the original V was one of those cultural markers. Of course the whole talk about the aliens using Obama "Hope and Change" language makes it even more appealing.

ABC has posted the first eight and a half minutes of its upcoming reboot of V, the alien-invasion series that kicks off on Nov. 3. Not much we haven't seen in promos before, but the clip introduces the main characters briefly before getting right into it: The arrival of 29 ginormous alien spacecraft over the major cities of the world, including New York.

I was watching college football on ABC and they had a new spot for the remake of V. (I am of the generation that fondly remembers the original). I am paraphrasing but they had the hot alien chic say the following and make these promises: 1: "We will Cure your diseases". Doesn't Zero, Biden, Edwards, etc promise stem cell research from aborted babies or cloning promise cure for every disease we face. 2: "We will bring peace." The Noble Prize Committee awars the Peace Prize to Obama just because he talks about peace and eliminating nuclear arms.

In the world wide web and in the publishing world, there are conspiracy theories going about concerning topics from the Kennedy assassination, aliens, 9/11 being an inside job, Chariot of the gods, a book claiming that extraterrestrials influenced the ancient world, and corporate control over government. While some present some truth, some are fantastic and even fictitious. One such theory involves ancient history and a belief that we have not been alone in the universe for sometime. British Author and Green activist David Icke has compiled a series of books claiming that since the dawn of time, Earth has been...

No Chance of a 'V' Recovery This is an interesting recession. In the past I have postulated the various possibilities of the type of recovery we would face – L, U, V, or W. The theory is that the deeper the recession, the more pressure exists to drive a recovery – hence a “V”. Even though the coincident data did not support a “V” recovery, leading indicators did. But data this week has destroyed the belief there is pent up demand or any other bull tendencies raging. The possibility of a “V” recovery has been taken off of the table....

Naomi Wolf is going back to her roots. The journalist and author, who has seemingly been on a break for the past couple of years from writing books on the kinds of feminist themes that made her famous in the early 1990s, has signed on with the Ecco Press for a project tentatively titled A Cultural History of the Vagina. Ms. Wolf was represented by lit agent John Brockman. Neither was not available for comment. In her last three books—one a memoir about her father, the other two polemics on American politics—the author has departed from the area of expertise...

The upcoming re-imagining of the alien invasion series "V" looks set to bring a modern spin on the classic tale, but that doesn't mean it will forget its roots entirely. According to SciF Wire, the series is considering bringing in some of the show's original stars, and they already have some names in mind. "Jane Badler has approached our producers and has been in touch here and there," executive producer Scott Peters confirmed. What's keeping the writers from integrating her into the show though isn't a lack of enthusiasm, but instead the need to give her, and any other original...

Almost as if Lou Dobbs had taken over the network, ABC plans to debut a series in the fall about aliens who come to Earth promising "hope," "change" and universal health care, but who actually want to infiltrate our government and our businesses and, to that end, have rallied the country's youth behind their nefarious campaign. Morena Baccarin plays the good-looking, charismatic leader of the Visitors, one remarkably knowledgeable about human culture and media manipulation. The series is called "V" and it's a re-envisioning of an old miniseries... "V" is debuting on Nov. 3...a.k.a. the one-year anniversary of Barack Obama...

I was 11 when the original miniseries "V" was aired, and I vividly recall the commotion. Especially for a small screen production, it was very well done. I was a little young to understand the political statement that it made, but I am very happy (and more than a little surprised) to see its return now. The original series was a comment on the dangers of Nazi totalitarianism. They came with apparently benevolent motives, to help the human race improve its place in the universe. They spoke directly to the youth and charmed them with their message of hope and...

So you may have heard that ABC is doing a remake of the 80s television miniseries, "V". Trailer is at the link above. What's interesting is the angle: Devotion is the weapon, a carefully crafted message from the Visitors of Change and Hope. And a good-looking, charismatic spokeperson, with demands for a perfectly controlled image. I wonder if ABC realizes JUST how subversive it is, especially as the bloom comes off the Administration. It's even identified by a single letter. And, of course, the bringers of Change and Hope are hiding their true face, and have sinister ambitions. Sound familiar...

V: Remake of the classic alien-invasion miniseries plays in the trailer, weirdly, like an allegory of the Obama election: aliens come to Earth, promise "hope" and "change" (words actually used), inspire cult-like devotion, but have creepy intent and are secretly lizards. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. But it has potential to be Glenn Beck's new favorite show.

Long Odds? Three Scenarios for the Economy's Path By DAVID WESSEL There is no doubt where the economy is now. "By any measure, this downturn represents by far the deepest global recession since the Great Depression," the International Monetary Fund declared Wednesday. But there's more than the usual uncertainty about where it is going. The key is the U.S. Even though its slice of the world economy is smaller than it once was, it's still huge. The U.S. led the world into the abyss, and it will lead the world economy out of it. But how fast and when? The...

Casting is underway for ABC's attempt to remake "V," and already has attracted some known names from science-fiction. But the latest casting move could have "Lost" fans worried about one of their favorite blonde characters. Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello says Elizabeth Mitchell, who plays The Other's Juliet on "Lost," has just picked up a job for "V." This, coupled with an earlier report from Ausiello that a major character on "Lost" would die before the end of the season, has him worried that it will be Juliet who meets with her maker when it's all said and done. But ABC...

I sure hope this doesn't mean what I think it does: Lost heroine Elizabeth Mitchell has been cast in ABC's eagerly anticipated V pilot. Are you thinking what I'm thinking -- that this confirms Juliet as the major character who gets bumped off at this season's end? Yeah, I kinda thought you might be with me on that one. However, my moles at ABC and Warner Bros. (which is producing V) say we need to chill, because Mitchell is just a guest star on V. But, however much I may want to chill, that's pretty hard to do, since everyone...

Actress Morena Baccarin is about to invade the planet earth. She has been cast in a lead role on ABC’s upcoming remake of the 1980s invasion series V, according to The Hollywood Reporter. India has put all of its major airports on high alert after receiving threats that planes may be about to be hijacked. Airport security has been tightened and travellers are being asked to check in three hours before their flights. Air force chief Fali Homi Major said: "This is based on a warning, which has been received and we are prepared as usual." Indian TV reported that the alert was issued after an email from Deccan Mujahideen, the same group that claimed the Mumbai attacks. Sky's India correspondent Alex Crawford said: "The Indian Bureau for Civil Aviation has warned of...

"V" is finally coming back to television, but it just will have little to do with the hit 1980s miniseries that helped redefined science-fiction on television. ABC has ordered a new adaptation of the lizard-populated show with Scott Peters, a co-creator of USA Network's "The 4400," despite the fact that "V" creator Kenneth Johnson continues to work on a continuation of the 1980s outing.

Yeah, yeah. I know. I've already posted a couple of other DUmmie FUnnies editions in the past few weeks on the subject of V For Vendetta which you can read HERE and HERE. However, the laughable obsession of the Left over this movie seems to be continuing unabated. And now, in addition to the DUmmies, we also have the Daily Kos KOmmies engaging in Vendetta fantasies as we shall see. For those of you unfamiliar with this fantasy flick, it is based on a graphic comix novel of the same name. In the movie, Britain is under the fascistic...

Gout forced Charles V abdication, study finds By Gene Emery BOSTON (Reuters) - Tests of a 500-year-old pinky finger confirm that Holy Roman Emperor Charles V was debilitated by gout and the painful joints it produces, Spanish researchers reported on Wednesday. Jaume Ordi of the University of Barcelona and colleagues used a microscope to examine the tip of one of Charles' pinkie fingers, which was preserved separately from his body in a small red velvet box. After rehydrating and slicing the mummified fingertip, the Ordi team found telltale signs of gout, including the buildup of uric acid crystals. At the...

In these last days, the Bible says it will be a time of mass hybridization and the mixture and corruption of human DNA by fallen angels, also known as "Aliens." The government is and has been, conditioning the existence of aliens through Hollywood, science fiction, cartoons, and other sources. However, they are not telling you the whole truth. These Aliens are not ascended masters, or enlightened ones, or beings from galaxies millions of miles away, nor are they our forefathers or original creators. They are fallen angels who were kicked out of heaven for their rebellion against the headship...

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - The letter 'W' has entered the mainstream of the Swedish language, getting its own section for the first time in the country's most respected dictionary. While 'W' has long been a letter in its own right in other Nordic languages, Swedish linguists have always viewed it as a lesser sibling of the letter 'V,' as the two letters are pronounced identically in Swedish. The few Swedish words that use 'W' have generally been borrowed from other languages — such as "watt," "walkie-talkie" and the "World Wide Web" — and have so far always been lumped under the...

Time to dust off the whoopee cushions and hand buzzers. April Fools' Day is here and there's no better place for wisecracks and shenanigans than at work. In its annual April Fools' Day survey, CareerBuilder.com found 33 percent of workers have played a practical joke on a co-worker and 17 percent are planning office tricks for this year's holiday. Although it might be thrilling to finally one-up the office funnyman, pranks also help beat something that's no laughing matter: workplace stress. More than half of workers reported working under stress in another CareerBuilder.com survey. Stress and worry on the job...
