  • Glen Beck Vigorously Insisting Mormans are Christians.

This morning Glen Beck was discussing "what is a Christian" and used the full title of the LDS Church as proof they are Christians, not some whacked out cult based on a modern day "prophet". He also spoke of how Soros thinks of himself as a god. As a disclaimer, every member of that church that I've ever met was a clean living, humble and generous person...but that doesn't make them Christians.
  • Vanity: Looking for that piece about the impact of Islam at various percentages of the population

Does anyone have that piece about the impact of Islam in countries as the percentage of Muslims increases. I've seen it here many times, but it didn't come up on a Google search. If anyone has it, I'd appreciate your posting it here, along with an original source if you have one. Thanks

AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and heís not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name...
  • Do Republicans want a Protestant POTUS candidate?

    02/19/2012 4:53:22 PM PST · by Andy from Chapel Hill · 129 replies · 1+ views
57% of Republicans are Protestant and 23% are Catholic, if I read the data at Pew Research correctly. Today, after church (Presbyterian, but thinking about joining an unaffilated church), a group of us older and more conservative men began discussing the lack of enthusiasm among the Republican base for any of the current candidates. One fellow said "I am not Catholic because I do not agree with the Catholic Church's teachings and I am not Mormon because I do not want to be a Mormon". Others generally agreed and said that the candidate's religion mattered a lot. Is the talk...

"Obama for America can accept contributions from an individual of up to $2,500 per federal election (the primary and general are separate elections). " How is it, then, that Vince Carter can host 40 people at his home for a $30k per plate dinner to ' support the Barack Obama Victory Fund"? That's $1.2 mil. What allows him to donate one sum and I am legally bound in the limits of what I can give? Is this 'bundling' and, if not, what is it and what's the difference, please?
  • Al Gore Doomsday clock?

    02/21/2012 11:06:45 AM PST · by MNDude · 12 replies
Rush Limbaugh's website used to have an "Al Gore Doomsday Clock" where it would count down until the time that Al Gore predicted the world would cook. I've just checked out rushlimbaugh.com and have not been able to find this. I know he's had it on his site for about five years. It'd be nice to know how much time we have left. Anyone know if it's gone, or just moved?

  • Right to Vote if Receiving Mental Disability Benefits?

    2/21/12 | bestintxas
Anybody hear Lou Dobbs interviewing a man last night who said (I believe) there were 22 million people receiving disability benefits? He also raised an interesting question when he brought up that 20% of these have mental disabilities, and asked whether it was appropriate for these to be able to vote. Since they applied for benefits claiming mental instability and the federal govt must have agreed, then it seems there is a strong basis for disallowing any right to vote. Amybody disagree?
  • Vanity: Over-the-top Phony Romney RoboPhone Call

    02/19/2012 2:45:24 PM PST · by DJ Frisat · 26 replies
Sorry for the vanity post, but I'm feeling pretty insulted by a phony robocall from Mitt Romney's Michigan campaign headquarters today. Here's what happened: I returned from an errand to discover a voice mail message, stating: "Hi, this is Mitt Romney calling. I was calling your home to see if I could speak with you directly and ask for your vote directly, and maybe answer some of the questions that you might have for me. It appears that I've not been able to make that happen, but perhaps we'll run into each other at some point during the campaign." The...
  • Gingrich-Santorum Would Be the First All Catholic Presidential Ticket in American History

    02/18/2012 10:05:25 AM PST · by pinochet · 49 replies
For the first 100 years of its existence (1860 to 1960), the Republican Party was viewed as a Protestant political Party. In 1928, liberal and conservative Protestants united and campaigned against Al Smith, who was the Democratic candidate for President, because he was a Catholic. How things have changed! The Democrats, for a long time, were the home of American Catholics. With the contraception controversy, Obama has made it clear, that practising Catholics are no longer welcome in the Democratic Party. Some Catholics were willing to vote for the pro-choice Democratic Party, in the belief that Democrats would not force...

An Open Letter to Rick Santorum: Dear Senator: As a strong, common-sense Conservative, I have a favor to ask of you. Could you please consider not answering, off the cuff, every question thrown at you? Would you please engage your brain before putting your mouth in gear? Iím beginning to see now, how, as an incumbent, you lost your Senate seat by 18 pecentage points to the brain-dead Bob Casey. Women vote Senator; and, they vote in large numbers. Now, please consider this common-sense observation from a Conservative male: Women have been in combat for years now. Women have used...

I donít write many vanities but I feel it necessary to write this one. I am ticked off!!! Iím ticked off at the ignorance and arrogance of the Conservatives and their unwillingness and/or inability to fight back against the Lame Stream Media, Rats, RINOs and Faux Conservatives. For years now we have had to endure the establishment, in concert with the MSM, Rats, RINOs and Faux Conservatives, picking our side for us and then every time we have candidates we support then they are blocked, mocked, ridiculed and slandered. While many Real Conservatives may not support Newt for many justifiable...

  • Is It Possible to Criticize Some Aspects of Capitalism, Without Being Labelled a Socialist?

    02/17/2012 8:05:14 AM PST · by pinochet · 69 replies
The leader of the Russian Communist Revolution, Vladmir Lenin, once declared that: "The capitalists will give us the rope, which we shall use to hang them". For most of American history, capitalism has been a force for good, because most of America's leading capitalists were patriotic citizens, who were also devout Christians. So long as American capitalism is in the hands of patriotic Christians, the forces of capitalism can be harnessed to do a lot of good for America and the world. J. D. Rockefeller's fortune built the University of Chicago and other useful projects during his lifetime. American capitalist...

  • Is American Policy Toward Syria Endangering Syrian Christians?

    02/16/2012 2:43:59 PM PST · by pinochet · 11 replies
When American troops removed Saddam Hussein from power, Muslim extremists took over Iraq. They launched a campaign of genocide against Iraqi Christians, and most Christians fled from Iraq, with many of them living in Syria as refugees. Syrian Christians make up 10 percent of the population of Syria, and belong to one of the oldest traditions of Christianity in the world. Remember that Saul of Tarsus converted to Christianity when he was on his way to Damascus, Syria, to persecute Christians. He changed his name to Paul, after Jesus knocked him off his horse. Paul wrote half of the New...

On January 7th, at the Republican debate, George Stephanopoulos embarked on a sudden, unexpected, and bizarre series of questions about contraception and birth control. Most of the political pundits who watched this, were somewhat puzzled at the virtual harangue that Stephanopoulos went on, asking candidate after candidate to pin down their views -- even though birth control issues were decidedly not in the forefront. Then, President Obama and his brain trust picked a fight with the Catholic Church, demanding that they fund birth control and abortion services. When the Church rose up in anger, they compromised -- they only needed...

I've had it, after 55 years, with the Catholic Church. No more of my money for these people. Every homily is like an Obama campaign speech. Hiding the homosexual scandal, promoting Obama Care........ on & on. Is there a conservative alternative? Orthodox Church maybe? Never been to one but I'm ready to switch.
