Maybe some of you FREEPERS who bash Cruz for supporting TPA and who hold Jeff Sessions up as being a new hero for Americans.... Can you tell me WHY he supported CAFTA? Doesn't CAFTA give back door access to illegal immigration? Doesn't this hurt the American worker? Inquiring minds want to know.

As I previously posted, my Dell Vostro 3550 crashed 7 weeks ago, and after a very frustrating extended relationship with Dell, they decided to send me a replacement computer -- albeit a different model (Latitude E6540. Both the old Vostro and the new Latitude run Windows 7 and MS Office 2010. Long story short: I used Windows Easy Transfer (with Belkin Cable) to transfer files from the Vostro to the Latitude -- Success! Now I am trying to get my Outlook data into the Outlook on the new computer. I found my Outlook.pst files in the My Documents folder on...

BONN, Germany (Reuters) - Almost 80 percent of people worldwide are perturbed about global warming and most want tough action to fix the problem, according to a new study that the United Nations touted as a spur to an international climate deal later this year. The report, based on consultations with 10,000 people in 75 nations from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, also showed that 66 percent viewed measures to tackle warming, such as more wind or solar energy, as a chance to improve their quality of life. Christiana Figueres, head of the U.N. Climate Change Secretariat, said the findings were "important...
  • Let’s just say it: The left’s Socialist national agenda is based on lies.

Over that past few days we’ve had two fascinating articles come out on the falsehoods… LIES.. perpetrated by the nation’s socialist left in the furtherance of their agenda. Both of these recent articles highlight in stark relief the mendacious nature of the Collectivists on the left. Both show that the only way they can move their national socialist agenda Forward is by the use of falsified data and.. let’s be blunt about it… outright LIES. The 1st example: Climate scientists criticize government paper that erases ‘pause’ in warming http://www.foxnews.com/science/2015/06/10/climate-scientists-criticize-government-paper-that-erases-pause-in-warming/# Shows us how the Left falsifies data … er. excuse me...
  • Obama’s too many concessions to Iran are setting the stage for a disaster

Ever since assuming office in 2009, U.S. President Barack Obama has had an affinity to tackle problems in respect to the Iranian regime through rapprochement and appeasement. This approach has manifested itself in giving unwarranted concessions to Tehran regarding its nuclear program and its regional ambitions, and ignoring the chaos and mayhem caused by the Iranian regime in the region. Obama thinks such tactics will eventually lead to the resolution of the problems that are riddling the Middle East. The reality is, the continuation of this failed policy will inevitably cause the exacerbation of the turmoil and possibly lead to...

Help! Even though it's early I've thrown my weight behind Ted Cruz already. Now I'm getting VERY nervous that I've been duped with his position on this trade bill. What is going on? Free Republic has alot of clout; somehow we have got to flush this out of him and either clarify it was a really bad frickin dream or throw him to the trash pile and get behind someone else. Anyone have clarity on this?

OK - I have been undergoing 7 weeks of computer hell since my old Dell Windows 7 laptop crashed. I won't bore you with the details. So now I have a new Dell Windows 7 laptop, and I will shortly be transferring data files from my old limping laptop to the new one. But basically at this point all I've done is installed some basic programs (MS Office 2010 and a few others). For the moment, I'm using Internet Explorer until I decide which default browser to use. So I've been doing some web surfing. I get to Free Republic...

By all accounts, Harold was a bright child. He grew up in America. He went to school and had a bright future ahead of him. Harold’s full life was cut short in a violent moment. While few people had ever heard of Harold before his death, many did afterwards. And in death, something shocking happened. What was so shocking, especially when it is compared to the death of someone else recently in the news? . Harold is Harold Greene, Major General United States Army. On August 5th, General Greene was killed by a Taliban terrorist. He was returned to America...

General Dwight D. Eisenhower arrived in London to command Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF) for the last five months of planning for D-Day. During that time he achieved much more than the oft repeated portrayal of someone managing a political/military alliance. Though he never led troops in combat, his leadership sustained many unprecedented initiatives for the successful Normandy landings. The air assault exemplifies the frightful uncertainties plaguing this “Day of Days”. The night before D-Day, 20,400 American and British paratroopers dropped behind the Normandy beaches from 1,250 C-47 aircraft plus gliders. This massive assault was attempted just 17 years...

"Sen. Rand Paul Declares Victory over NSA", trumpets Drudge headline. Interesting…with what Dwight Eisenhower knew, about the logistics of running the Allied war effort, about intelligence under the Dulles Bros., about his experience underlying his 'Military-Industrial Complex', departing speech, how would Ike evaluate Sen. Paul's "Mission Accomplished" over the Panopticon of Modern Spying? We owe our revenge over Usama bin Laden, partially to a former-Soviet intelligence veteran who hacked Al Quaeda: he wanted to be accepted by them, they shamed him, he put a fake moustache on bin Laden’s picture, but to make his revenge stick, he turned bin Laden in...

  • Elon Musk's growing empire is fueled by $4.9 billion in government subsidies

Los Angeles entrepreneur Elon Musk has built a multibillion-dollar fortune running companies that make electric cars, sell solar panels and launch rockets into space. And he's built those companies with the help of billions in government subsidies. Tesla Motors Inc., SolarCity Corp. and Space Exploration Technologies Corp., known as SpaceX, together have benefited from an estimated $4.9 billion in government support, according to data compiled by The Times. The figure underscores a common theme running through his emerging empire: a public-private financing model underpinning long-shot start-ups. "He definitely goes where there is government money," said Dan Dolev, an analyst at...

Why would a country at war with islamic terrorists, indiscriminately import thousands of potential problems? Why would that SAME country also allow a porous, if not inviting, border for 'potentially hostile refugees' on the southern border while keeping the northern border hypersecure from people of a historical alliance? You can't solve a problem till there IS a problem, and it's way easier to solve if you created the problem. Remember Rahm, “never let a serious crises go to waste” Fast & furious and the porous southern border/importation of muslim refugees. It seems to be the same strategy of creating a...

Last weekend was Memorial Weekend, honoring our fallen soldiers who lost their lives defending our country and our flag. Last weekend a US Forest Ranger came through our campground at Devils Elbow, which is Idaho Panhandle National Forest Land. He told our camp host, Butch & Sharon, they had to take down their US Flag. He refused. I don't know the outcome of his refusal, their is a chance he will loose his job. But he states he will not take down his flag. We also do not know if this ranger was acting on his own, or if this...

The words of the former New York Governor and Democrat icon Mario Cuomo rang out loud and clear some 30 years ago. "I am personally opposed to abortion but" would pretty much sum up Cuomo's message. Yesterday that message was echoed on the issue of gay marriage by the Republican governor of North Carolina in a statement entitled "Governor McCrory defends Constitution". Governor Pat McCrory noted his own 'sincerely held religious beliefs that marriage is between a man and a woman'. But then we got this: "Whether it is the president, governor, mayor, a law enforcement officer, or magistrate, no...

Why Do Some People Accept Dependence? I had a thought I wanted to share regarding why some people accept dependence on government handouts as a way of life. My idea of success is for a person to go through life without becoming a burden on their fellow citizens. This is not always possible but once you do become a burden, your every sense should be to unburden your fellow citizens. Explaining the benefits to mind and body rooted in independence isn’t enough to cause some people to risk the comfort of a handout for the difficult path to independence. The...
